The road to Dragonfall Lodge was nearly impassable, and it would have been even more difficult if Laka hadn't known the way. Kairuot would have found it hard to navigate the terrifying and unforgettable Olympus Mountain Forest alone.
For some unknown reason, the forest surrounding Olympus Mons was different from other areas; the plants grew larger and sturdier, with thick branches and large leaves. The smallest tree could be embraced by dozens of people, and the leaves were as big as two hands. Similarly, the animals here were several times larger than those in other regions. Entering Olympus Mountain Forest felt like stepping into an enlarged, terrifying world.
Kairuot rode on Laka's back, and as soon as they entered the forest, they were ambushed by a Giant Spider that descended from above. Kairuot accidentally touched its web, and it regarded him as prey, launching its venomous stinger at him. Fortunately, Kairuot reacted quickly and shattered it with a Laser Pointer.
Wherever they went, they encountered palm-sized insects everywhere, and attacks from poisonous creatures had become a common occurrence. To avoid being attacked by unknown insects, Kairuot had no choice but to circulate his energy, emitting Cosmic Wave Energy around his body to keep all the bugs away from him and Laka.
After walking safely for a while, Laka used its unique sense of direction to lead Kairuot deeper into the dense forest. The light in the forest grew dimmer, but fortunately, both Laka and Kairuot possessed Night Vision Ability, allowing them to continue moving forward without issue.
Despite the thorns and dangers present in the forest, Laka, being a divine beast, seemed unfazed by everything happening around them. It continued walking ahead until suddenly it stopped and emitted its characteristic low growl. Following Laka's gaze, Kairuot noticed two glowing green eyes the size of bronze bells shining in the darkness not far ahead among the Thorny Bushes. Before he could discern what kind of monster it was, it opened its massive mouth wide enough to swallow two Lakais and lunged at them—luckily, Laka leaped aside with Kairuot.
Kairuot turned his head back and thought: "That was close; if I had been a moment slower, I would have been swallowed." At that moment, he saw that the creature lunging at them was a gigantic Python. Its body was nearly as thick as Laka's and over a hundred meters long, exuding an intimidating cold light. After missing its target, the Python turned around to prepare for a second attack. Kairuot shouted, "Laka! Get out of the way!!"
Laka understood instantly and quickly dodged.
The giant Python then turned its head toward Kairuot and lunged at him. Gritting his teeth, Kairuot made up his mind not to dodge but instead charged directly at the Python.
Both sides moved quickly; in an instant, the Python missed again while Kairuot rushed right next to it.
Kairuot swiftly drew out the Dragon Slayer Dagger prepared for him by Elder Kairoukun from his waist and plunged it fiercely into the Python's vital spot while riding on its smooth black body. He managed to cut a large gash into it, causing blood to gush out immediately. Although this strike wasn't fatal, it deeply pained the Python. Taking advantage of this pain, the Python rolled over and tightly coiled around Kairuot to immobilize him. Kairuot hurriedly gathered his energy to resist the constriction of the Python while stabbing several more times with his dagger. These strikes weren't aimed at fatal spots for the Python; thus, it retaliated even faster. The Python had completely wrapped itself around Kairuot by now. Without his profound internal strength for protection, he would have already been suffocated by it.
Kairuot was tightly bound by the Python and couldn't use his martial arts skills at all; any movement only tightened its grip further. Besides swinging his Dragon Slayer Dagger a few times, he had no way to deal with the creature. At that moment, the Python's head was facing Kairuot; it flicked its terrifying tongue while its green eyes stared intently at him as if contemplating how to eat him before launching its final attack. Provoked by this situation, Kairuot waved his dagger at the Python's head and shouted: "Come on!—Trust me; let's fight to the death!"
As soon as Kairuot's words fell, the dagger in his hand flew out with a whoosh and pierced the giant python's eye. The giant python immediately writhed in pain, rolling on the ground several times before releasing Kairuot. Seizing the opportunity, Kairuot flipped himself up.
This time, he did not dare to underestimate the enemy; he was determined to use his strongest power to unleash the Laser Pointer. He focused his energy and aimed a powerful strike at the giant python's head, resulting in a loud boom that obliterated the entire head of the giant python.
The battle was over, and Kairuot collapsed onto the ground. At that moment, he remembered the Dragon Slayer Dagger lodged in the giant python's eye and muttered to himself, "What a pity for that Dragon Slayer Dagger."
Just as his words fell, the Dragon Slayer Dagger returned to his hand. Kairuot then recalled the Grandmaster's words: in an emergency situation, as long as he called out "Dragon Slayer," the Dragon Slayer Dagger would obey his commands and strike where he directed. Thinking of this, Kairuot said to himself, "This dagger is so magical; it actually listens to people. Dragon Slayer, thank you." He sheathed the dagger back into its scabbard at his waist.
Kairuot did not know that the dagger he used was a product of modern high-tech from Mars, an Intelligent Dagger. On the surface, it looked like an ordinary dagger, but in fact, the handle of the Dragon Slayer Dagger stored super energy that allowed it to move as quickly as a bullet. Inside the dagger was a control chip capable of guidance; the Grandmaster had programmed it to respond only to Kairuot's commands. When it heard Kairuot call "Dragon Slayer," it activated its switch, and its guidance system could accurately fly toward its target based on his instructions.
After realizing the magical role that the Dragon Slayer Dagger played during his fight with the giant python, Kairuot felt a surge of confidence as he traversed Olympus Mountain Forest. He whistled.
Laka heard the whistle and quickly came to his side. Covered in blood, Kairuot needed to find a source of water to clean himself up. Laka seemed to understand his thoughts and led him to a small river. Overjoyed, Kairuot jumped off Laka's back and dashed into the river. However, before he could wash off all the blood, a massive crocodile appeared.
Laka noticed this and began to whimper loudly, alerting Kairuot. He turned around to see the crocodile opening its enormous jaws, ready to swallow him whole. He hurriedly shouted, "Dragon Slayer! Stab its eyes!!" In an instant, a cold light flashed as the Dragon Slayer Dagger pierced directly into the crocodile's eyes. The crocodile's eyes were instantly blinded by the dagger, causing it to thrash violently in the water, creating huge waves that muddied the once-clear river. Not daring to stay in the water any longer, Kairuot quickly climbed ashore. A few more giant crocodiles appeared in the river; he swiftly retracted the Dragon Slayer Dagger and fled in panic.
The terrifying experiences in the forest had taught Kairuot many lessons; he had no choice but to let Laka carry him wherever they went. To prevent any mishaps, he activated his Cosmic Wave Energy to protect himself and Laka from harm. By nightfall, they radiated circles of golden energy around them, causing many animals hiding in the dark corners of the forest to regard them with fear. After trekking through the forest for a day and night, they finally reached the foot of Olympus Mons safely.
