That night, Fairleya took advantage of the absence of anyone in the room to begin meditating. Suddenly, a Masked Person emerged from the darkness and appeared before her.
Fairleya wanted to scream, but the Masked Person covered her mouth with a hand. The Masked Person leaned close to her ear and said, "Don't scream! I'm here to save you. You must never take the medicine they gave you again. What you've been taking is Softening Powder, which has drained all your strength." As they spoke, the Masked Person handed her a packet of medicine. "This is for you; remember to take one pill every day."
With that, the Masked Person vanished into the darkness.
-
Fairleya was initially reluctant to trust this stranger's words, but given her current situation, she had no other choice but to follow the instructions.
However, the Masked Person made sense. After she started taking the medicine given by them, her strength began to recover significantly in less than two days. She started to believe what the Masked Person had said.
-
Three days passed, and Fairleya's strength and abilities had recovered considerably. She could have broken down the door and left this dreadful place, but thinking about the grievances she had suffered earlier made her determined to teach that shameless Bel Six a lesson; she was unwilling to let it go.
Thus, Fairleya pretended to be weak and continued to stay there, waiting for Bel Six's next appearance.
-
However, another three days went by, and Fairleya's abilities were fully restored, yet Bel Six still had not shown up.
That night, she had to ask the little girl sitting by her bed, "Where has your master been these past few days?"
The little girl replied, "Him? He's been extremely busy these days; he's planning a wedding."
Fairleya quickly asked, "Whose wedding is he planning?"
The little girl answered, "Yours... didn't you know?"
Upon hearing this, Fairleya felt as if she had been struck by lightning... She realized that Bel Six was preparing to force her into marriage.
Beating up Bel Six was one thing; if it involved a marriage contract, it would ruin her reputation... Fairleya felt she could no longer stay there and needed to find a way to escape quickly.
Fairleya wanted to escape, but first she had to send the little girl away. She had been concealing her intentions well these past few days, making the little girl believe she was the kind of girl who only spoke softly and lacked enthusiasm for anything, which made the little girl feel quite at ease around her.
That evening, Fairleya pretended to be quite tired and said to the little girl, “I’m feeling a bit worn out today; I’d like to go to bed early. You should head back to your room and sleep.”
“Are you sure there’s no problem?” the little girl asked. If Fairleya was in trouble, she certainly wouldn’t dare return to her room to sleep for fear of being scolded by her master.
Fairleya replied, “It’s nothing; I just feel a bit tired. You can go ahead and sleep without worry.”
After the little girl returned to her room, Fairleya got out of bed. To avoid waking the little girl, she decided not to leave through the door but instead quietly opened the window and climbed out.
Bel Six’s courtyard was quite large; within Dragonfall Lodge, aside from the Dragon Clan, no one else had a courtyard of comparable size.
The vast courtyard left Fairleya disoriented, unsure of where to go to reach the main gate. She wandered aimlessly around the courtyard, unable to find a wall that would allow her to jump out. The courtyard was flanked by cliffs on three sides, with only one side facing the street. Therefore, she could only escape by climbing over the wall that bordered the street.
After wandering for a while, Fairleya found herself back near the thicket by the stone steps she had already traversed. Just as she prepared to move forward again, someone tapped her shoulder. Turning around, she saw Masked Person, who quietly told her, “You’re going the wrong way; follow me.”
Following Masked Person, Fairleya quickly navigated through a small grove, crossed a corridor, passed by an artificial hill, and went past a small pond until they finally arrived at the large Lawn. She thought that if she could just cross this Lawn, she would reach the wall on the other side and be able to escape. However, she did not expect that Bel Six was already waiting there. With his arms crossed over his chest and a smug expression on his face, he said, “My dear, you cannot escape my grasp.”
It turned out that Bel Six had been busy preparing for a wedding and hadn’t had time to pay attention to Fairleya. Now that he was finally done with his tasks for the day, he thought about how after tomorrow’s wedding with Fairleya, she would officially belong to him. The ceremony would take place in front of many witnesses; even if Fairleya shouted injustice with a thousand voices, no one would believe her. That night, he had also added a mute drug to her medicine so that she wouldn’t be able to speak during the wedding ceremony and embarrass him with loud protests. The thought of having Fairleya at his mercy tomorrow filled Bel Six with delight as he imagined holding her soft body that couldn’t speak. However, at that moment, he felt an itch of impatience; he couldn’t wait until tomorrow. He thought, “If I share a bed with her tonight and consummate our union now, it will make things easier tomorrow.”
So he stealthily approached Fairleya’s room and quietly walked up to her bed in the dead of night. Suddenly pouncing on her, he intended to force himself on her since he believed that after taking his medicine, she would have no strength left to resist. But once again he was disappointed; there was no one in bed—clearly, Fairleya had already escaped.
However, feeling the warmth still lingering under the covers led him to believe that Fairleya, unfamiliar with her surroundings, couldn’t have gotten far. Thus began his scene of waiting on the Lawn to intercept Fairleya. What he didn’t anticipate was that there was someone assisting her.
Upon seeing Bel Six, Fairleya, disregarding her still-recovering body, rushed forward and threw a punch at him. This punch took Bel Six by surprise; he assumed that since Fairleya had taken his Softening Powder and mute drug, she would be too weak to fight back and didn’t think much of it. However, this punch nearly knocked the wind out of him; he staggered back a few steps but managed not to fall over. Clenching his fists in anger and glaring at her, he cursed under his breath, “Damn it! How can this woman still have strength?”
As soon as his curse left his lips, Masked Person launched a kick towards him. Bel Six raised his arms defensively while Fairleya took advantage of this moment and swept his legs with a low kick. Seeing both of them coming at him fiercely, he could only evade their attacks and quickly retreated from their onslaught. After their initial exchange ended, he retaliated with a series of quick punches that knocked Masked Person down before attempting to use his speed to grab hold of Fairleya and lift her up.
Fairleya had already suffered losses from being lifted and thrown by him, so she quickly used her Lightness Skill to dodge his attack. While drifting, she activated her Palm Laser to launch a beam of laser towards Bel Six. Bel Six reacted swiftly and avoided the incoming laser. Just as he was about to curse, a dart from Masked Person shot towards him, hitting his right arm and causing him to scream in pain, cursing, "Damn it! Are you trying to get yourselves killed?!"
In the moment Bel Six was cursing, the two had already passed him and were sprinting towards the wall next to the main gate of the courtyard at a hundred-meter dash speed. By the time Bel Six realized it, it was too late to chase after them. He quickly drew out his Laser Pistol from his waist and began shooting wildly at the two while pursuing them.
Reaching the corner of the wall, facing the tall barrier, Fairleya felt somewhat powerless since her strength had not fully recovered. In a moment of urgency, Masked Person grabbed her arm, and together they pushed off with all their might, surprisingly leaping over the high wall. They quickly jumped down from the wall and disappeared into the street connected to the courtyard.
The two ran without looking back until they reached a jungle at the end of the street where they finally stopped. Masked Person said to Fairleya:
"He didn't follow us; we are safe now. Let's part ways here."
Fairleya knelt on one knee and clasped her fists in salute, saying, "Thank you for saving my life! May I know your name? Fei Leiya has no way to repay you."
Masked Person helped Fairleya up and said, "You don't need to thank me; I am good friends with your brother Kairuot."
As she spoke, she took out a bag from her waist and said, "This is some food and medicine I prepared for you. Follow this small path; there is a very hidden cave in the nearby dense forest where you can rest for a while."
Before Fairleya could respond, Masked Person had already leaped away. Fairleya chased after her silhouette and called out, "Benefactor! How will we meet again in the future?"
"If it's meant to be, we will meet again." As the voice faded, a dart flew over and embedded itself into a tree trunk beside her.
Fairleya took down the dart and examined it closely but found no special markings on it. She could only silently pray for another chance to meet again.
