After coming out of the Dunhuang Mogao Caves, Kairuot did not directly call the Giant Dragon Osei to fly to Chang'an, but instead planned to return to Nuzhicheng first.
He told Li Girl that they had traveled a long way into Chang'an, a place unfamiliar to them, and they had no way of finding her parents. Moreover, Chang'an was not a small town; they were from Mars and did not speak the local language, making their search quite difficult. It would be better to return to Nuzhicheng and call Belt, who could act as a translator, making their trip to Chang'an much easier.
Li Girl nodded in agreement, and the group immediately set off. Soon, the Giant Dragon Osei carried them to the skies above Nuzhicheng. To avoid being seen, the Giant Dragon Osei landed by a small river. After Kairuot, Lily, and Bel Purewood got off Osei's back, they walked towards Nuzhicheng.
When they were still a few miles away from Nuzhicheng, Bel Purewood pointed ahead in surprise and said, "Look! There are so many people gathered at the city gate!"
Kairuot and Lily followed Bel Purewood's finger and saw that the entrance to Nuzhicheng was surrounded by fully armed troops.
"Wow!" Li Girl exclaimed. "The besieging troops look so formidable!"
However, Kairuot frowned at the formation of the attacking troops and said, "This situation looks grim; Nuzhicheng is likely in serious trouble."
Li Girl said, "We should hurry to help them! With our abilities and equipment, we can definitely defeat them!"
"We need to rush over to help..." Bel Purewood also said. "Otherwise, if they break down the city gate and chaos ensues inside, it will be troublesome if Belt can't be found."
Kairuot calmly replied, "Let's fly up high and see what the situation is like before making any plans."
So they quickly ran back to the Giant Dragon Osei and soared up above the clouds, looking down at the movements of the people below. They soon discovered that the besieging force was a well-equipped Mongolian Cavalry unit. The closed city gates had put the besieging enemies in a state of agitation, and it seemed that they were about to begin their assault at any moment.
Before long, the Mongolian soldiers began firing incendiary arrows at the city, causing multiple fires within Nuzhicheng and leading to chaos inside the city.
The leading Mongolian Cavalry general rode a fierce Mongolian horse, wielding a Mace, and shouted arrogantly outside the city, "I, the Mongolian army, am ordered to occupy this place. If you do not open the city gates to welcome us, we will kill all the citizens once we break through!"
At that moment, the gates of Nuzhicheng suddenly opened, and a cavalry unit from within charged out. The leading warrior held a Spear and engaged in combat with the Mongolian general. Both sides fought fiercely on horseback for several rounds but ultimately, the Mongolian General struck him down. This initial setback caused the defenders to become increasingly outmatched by the Mongolian Cavalry, and within an hour, they were fleeing in panic.
Just as the Mongolian general ordered a pursuit, a group of vagrants from the city rushed out. The three watching from above were astonished to see that the leader was Belt.
Belt charged out wielding dual axes while riding a unicorn... In truth, Belt's martial skills were average; he was emboldened by having a divine beast by his side. The appearance of the unicorn and its loud neighing indeed caused chaos among the Mongolian horses, resulting in many soldiers being thrown off their mounts. However, this situation was only temporary; the battle-hardened Mongolian soldiers quickly regained their composure. Several Mongolian Cavalry members armed with Spears surrounded Belt. In a critical moment, Kairuot quickly waved his hand twice, knocking two of the leading cavalrymen off their horses, leaving one for Belt to handle.
Belt's dual axes were no joke either; when he swung them down, they struck the Spear of a Mongolian Cavalry soldier, numbing his hands. Coupled with his two companions being inexplicably taken down, fear crept into their hearts, and they retreated hastily.
Seizing the opportunity, Belt charged forward; in a fit of anger, the unicorn rammed into the Mongolian Cavalry along with their horses, sending them flying ten or more yards away. The unicorn's ferocity forced the Mongolian Cavalry to retreat. Seeing this situation unfold, the Mongolian General recklessly charged forward alone, raising his Mace high to smash down on Belt. Kairuot would not allow this to happen; he lightly pointed his hand and shot a Laser Beam at the Mace of the Mongolian General, instantly rendering it useless—only a wooden stick remained. The Mongolian General was taken aback and quickly pulled on his reins to stop abruptly before turning around to retreat while ordering his soldiers to shoot arrows at Belt.
At that critical moment when all the Mongolian Cavalry drew their bows to shoot arrows, Kairuot commanded all three of them to strike simultaneously. Instantly, they inflicted heavy casualties on the Mongolian Cavalry. This kind of aerial Laser Beam was something they had never encountered before; thinking they had offended a deity, they hastily retreated in panic.
Belt was not one to let go of an opportunity; he rode his unicorn ahead of the fleeing Mongolian General and raised his dual axes high to strike at him. The Mongolian General was no pushover either; although he had lost his Mace, he still had a Curved Blade unique to Mongolian soldiers at his waist. Seeing the axes coming down, he quickly dodged and performed a flip on his galloping horse to kick at Belt. This kick knocked Belt hard off his unicorn and onto the ground. Before Belt could get back up, the Mongolian General rushed over swiftly with his Curved Blade raised menacingly.
In this critical moment of danger, Kairuot used his Laser Beam to instantly disarm the Mongolian General of his Curved Blade. The general was filled with terror upon seeing this and did not dare linger; he fled in panic on his horse in another direction.
Belt broke into a cold sweat and did not dare chase after him easily. He watched as the retreating Mongolian Cavalry cursed them saying, "You guys are lucky this time! If you dare come again next time, I won't spare you!"
At that moment, Li Girl had already approached him and said, "They've run far away; no matter how much you curse them now, they can't hear you."
The fierce Mongolian Cavalry had been driven away, sparing Nuzhicheng from disaster. The people revered Kairuot and his companions as deities; wherever they went, they were welcomed warmly. They truly enjoyed several days of a heavenly life.
