The two of them left Hell on Earth, with Belden driving to the maglev train station, boarding a high-speed maglev train heading towards Luoyang.
Although it was a train, there were very few people on board. Kairuot curiously asked, "With so few people, operating this train is quite a waste of resources."
Belden told him, "This train is specifically for troop transport and is rarely in operation. I requested this train because I wanted to take a shortcut. This way, we can reach Luoyang much faster."
Indeed, as Belden said, they arrived at Luoyang City in just over three hours. They took the beam elevator leading to Luoyang City and reached the surface in less than half an hour. They entered a chamber designed like an ancient tomb, which was dark and empty, as if it had been looted. Inside, apart from a few reliefs and murals, there were no burial goods at all. They walked through the spacious chamber and arrived at the main door of the tomb. Belden gently tapped it with his finger, and the heavy stone door opened—before them lay a breathtaking view of lush mountains and waters.
Kairuot asked, "Where is this?"
"Longmen Mountain," Belden replied. "This used to be a Buddhist holy site in Luoyang. Unfortunately, it has suffered from human destruction over the past few decades. The famous Longmen Grottoes have been severely damaged and have lost their former glory; the era of flourishing Buddhism has become a thing of the past."
Kairuot said, "Tell Great-Great-Grandfather to send some large machinery and intelligent robots to excavate and carve; I believe it can be restored quickly."
"That would defeat our purpose of promoting Buddhism," Belden replied. "I want Earthlings to offer sincerely from their hearts, to genuinely aspire and cultivate together with those who are destined."
"There seems to be a predetermined fate," Kairuot said. "Who do you still wish to save on Earth?"
"Of course, we aim to save those who have become Homo Sapiens on Earth," Belden said frankly. "For those who cannot become Homo Sapiens but are connected to Buddhism, we can guide them in their next life so they can continue their practice."
"I truly admire you for complicating what is essentially a simple universe," Kairuot marveled. "After death, souls should go where they belong; why should you Homo Sapiens dictate that? Perhaps that is the tragedy of the universe."
"Without us Homo Sapiens, the universe would descend into chaos," Belden explained. "Would you want to stay in an unordered universe?"
Kairuot found himself speechless.
They walked along the walkway and arrived at the Thousand Buddha Cave in the Longmen Grottoes, where they saw many severely damaged Buddha statues. Belden sighed deeply: "What a pity! If it weren't for Emperor Li Yan's anti-Buddhism movement during the Tang Dynasty that destroyed Buddhist temples and forced monks and nuns to return to secular life, resulting in the destruction of numerous statues here, there would have been over ten thousand Buddha statues continuing to develop."
Kairuot observed that although some statues were damaged, it did not affect the overall brilliance of the cave. The gathering of thousands of Buddhas created an atmosphere of warmth and joy, as if everyone could attain Buddhahood. He said, "If it weren't for the anti-Buddhism movement, your conspiracy might have succeeded."
"Having everyone turn to Buddha is a good thing; I don't think it's a conspiracy," Belden retorted. "We are saving sentient beings."
"Since you want to save sentient beings, then don't lock the Earthlings' Cognitive Ability and set their genetic codes," Kairuot said incisively. "In reality, you just don't want the Earthlings to develop, fearing they will surpass you. What you call Buddha is merely a hypocritical facade. Rather than saving them, you are controlling them."
Beldan became a bit angry: "I won't argue with you; I sincerely want to help them, yet you are here slandering everything I do. Wait until you hear me preach to them before you express your fallacies."
"Alright, alright, don't get angry..." Kairuot dared not delve deeper into the discussion. "The slaughter among Earthlings is too severe; they need Buddhist teachings to resolve the malice in their hearts."
"I stand on the side of the Earthlings," Belden said. "Unfortunately, with my personal strength, I cannot save them. I hope you can join me."
"What can I do?"
"Well... at least for now, you can teach them martial arts. Help them strengthen their bodies and gradually open up the meridians in their brains through practicing advanced internal skills, unlocking the invisible locks controlling their Cognitive Ability. I don't want the Earthlings to always remain beneath Homo Sapiens."
"No wonder you handed over the Capricornian's supreme 'Bel Heart Method' Secret Manual to them; it was for this purpose. I will fully support your efforts to help this planet and won't let you down," Kairuot said, patting her head. "You should have told me earlier; at least I could share some of the workload with you."
"I don't want Great-Great-Grandfather to know about these things," Belden told him. "This is absolutely not allowed by Great-Great-Grandfather... so I've never made it public and always quietly came to Earth alone and left secretly. Not a single Earthling knows my real name; they all call me Guanyin Bodhisattva, and I have no choice but to accept that."
Under Belden's guidance, Kairuot continued to visit the Ancient Yang Cave, Binyang Middle Cave, Lotus Cave, Huang Gong Cave, Cixiang Cave, and others, spending most of the day in the Longmen Grottoes.
Belden enthusiastically shared stories about the origins of some Buddha statues in the caves with Kairuot. Before they knew it, dusk approached, and finally, they reluctantly left Longmen Mountain Cave and walked toward Luoyang City.
As it was not completely dark yet, they were reluctant to fly through the air for fear that Earthlings might mistake them for deities arriving and cause a commotion in Luoyang City, leading to unnecessary trouble. Thus, they slightly used their internal energy and moved swiftly along the mountain paths with a hint of Lightness Skill.
Once it was completely dark, Belden wore a bamboo hat with a layer of black gauze covering her face to avoid revealing her true appearance. Kairuot also disguised himself upon entering the city; they changed into all-black attire that looked sharp and neat—like a pair of wandering heroes.
To facilitate their visit to White Horse Temple the next day, they chose to stay at Luowen Inn near the eastern gate close to Luoshui.
After settling down, Belden and Kairuot went out to find something to eat. They hadn't eaten for a day and were starving, so they ordered a large bowl of Noodle Soup each at a secluded Small Restaurant near the inn.
As they were eating, a large group of Officials blocked the entrance, and two soldiers barged in. They found the two men's attire very suspicious and came to interrogate them at the Small Restaurant.
The arrogant soldier sternly reprimanded them:
"Who are you? It's already curfew, and you dare to come out for a midnight snack."
Kairuot replied without looking up, "Is it illegal to have a midnight snack? What dynasty's rule is that?"
He continued eating his Noodle Soup as he spoke.
The soldier was taken aback by encountering someone who dared to retort and continued eating his food, showing blatant disrespect for them as "troublesome commoners."
One soldier shouted fiercely, "I think you're tired of living!" He stepped forward, intending to grab him and teach him a lesson. However, before the reckless soldier could get close to Kairuot, he was lightly brushed aside with a palm and immediately knocked to the ground. The other soldier attempted to help but was gently stopped by Belden, rendering him unable to move.
Seeing this, the leading officer was frightened and quickly ordered his soldiers to retreat. They surrounded the Small Restaurant but no one dared to step forward to apprehend them; instead, they called for reinforcements.
After finishing their Noodle Soup slowly, the two stood up to leave when a general holding a Fang Tian Ji appeared and blocked their path.
Kairuot recognized this general, who had once sparred with Xiaoli. He indeed had some skills but was certainly no match for him—just as he was about to make a move, Belden waved his hand to stop him...
