Kairuot asked, "What does it say above?"
"If you open this door... your power must reach the sixth level..." Xiaoli stared at it for a long time, but she didn't recognize the characters that followed. "There are quite a few characters I don't know. The most prominent character I recognize is 'open'... but I'm not sure."
"According to what you said, this rock should be a door?" Kairuot asked. "We've already reached the sixth level of power."
"I'm not sure if my translation is accurate; it's just a guess."
"Whatever, we'll find out by trying." With that, Kairuot gathered his energy and struck the most noticeable character on the rock with both palms.
To his surprise, the rock acted like a wall that absorbed internal energy; all of Kairuot's power did not bounce back but was instead drawn in. Fortunately, his strength was formidable enough to prevent his internal energy from being consumed.
Kairuot continued to unleash his deepest internal power against the rock, and gradually, the characters on the stone changed from white to bright red. When they all turned a deep red, the rock door finally opened.
Without hesitation, Kairuot and Xiaoli stepped inside. Before they could react, the large door behind them closed. At this moment, it was pitch black inside and very damp, as if no one had been there for a long time. Relying on his intuition, Kairuot said to Xiaoli behind him, "This might be a secret passage for Capricornian leading to their base; perhaps this passage can take us out of the foggy area."
"It looks like this is an ancient passage that hasn't been used for many years. I think... getting out through this passage is going to be difficult."
"Difficult or not, we have to try; it's better than wandering around outside in the thick fog without knowing where to go. At least we've found a way."
-
The passage was quite long, extending into darkness with no end in sight. Kairuot and Xiaoli moved quickly through the corridor. Unbeknownst to them, Wristband indicated that they had been walking in the dark passage for a full ten days. Aside from drinking a little water along the way, they hardly stopped—something that would be impossible for ordinary people. Finally, they reached a wall.
Xiaoli patted the wall in front of her and exclaimed, "What a long passage! Why did Capricornian build such a long corridor? It's simply unbelievable. If it weren't for the fact that the door we entered was sealed, I almost lost confidence in continuing... Thankfully, we finally see the end of the road."
The wall still displayed a row of ancient hieroglyphs from Capricornian. Xiaoli racked her brain to translate the text on the wall, managing to decipher: "Place both palms flat on the characters for Mo and Jie, and use palm strength to open the door."
Kairuot followed Xiaoli's instructions, placing his palms on the characters for "Mo" and "Jie." He gathered his internal energy and pushed forward with his palms, and the powerful internal force slowly pushed the door open.
"This ancient method of opening doors relies on superior internal skill," Xiaoli said. "In ancient times, there were indeed quite a few people among the Capricornian who possessed exceptional martial arts."
"I doubt that," Kairuot countered. "This is a passage meant only for a select few with high martial arts proficiency. It was later abandoned precisely because most people couldn't open it."
As they spoke, they entered an upward staircase, feeling increasingly cold as they ascended, much colder than Solitary Sail Island. Fortunately, they were wearing space suits that could regulate temperature, so they didn't feel the cold; however, the dark, icy steps became increasingly difficult to navigate.
When they exited the passage, they found themselves at the North Pole of Earth. It was a peak in the Arctic, covered in pure white snow, with fierce winds raging. The weather during the Arctic Polar Night changed rapidly and felt terrifying.
In the darkness, Kairuot was pleasantly surprised to see his Wristband flashing; this indicated a signal. He discovered that the Wristband had navigation instructions and quickly opened the navigation map. Looking at the Arctic map projected onto the air's Screen Wall, he excitedly said, "We're really lucky; we can return to Mars from our Arctic Base soon." He pointed to the Martian Arctic Base marker on the right side of the map and said, "Our Arctic Base isn't far from here."
Following the navigation directions, they braved the biting cold wind and headed straight for the Martian Arctic Base.

The two soon arrived at the base of the pyramid in the Arctic. Looking up at the towering pyramid that reached into the sky, they realized that climbing its thousands of steps would take at least over an hour. To save time, they used their internal energy to leap toward the top. As they landed on the last step of the pyramid, Kairuot tapped on the entrance to the Arctic Base with his fingertip but found it dark inside without any lights.
Following the navigation map's guidance, they quickly found the Command Center of the base. Kairuot turned on the main control switch in the hall, illuminating it brightly. There wasn't a single person in sight; it was in disarray with many pieces of equipment damaged, clearly showing signs of vandalism. Not only could they not activate the Time Tunnel, but even ordinary equipment wouldn't start; only the Navigation Device was still operational.
Xiaoli looked at everything before her and asked, "Who is so bold as to break into this base and cause destruction?"
"Need I say? It's definitely Capricornian," Kairuot replied confidently.
"This place has been destroyed, and it will be difficult for us to return to Mars," Xiaoli said. "Let's go back to Penglai Immortal Island; we can only return to Mars from there."
Kairuot told her, "Don't be so naive. Looking back, from the moment we set foot on Earth, we have been led by the nose. Along the way, we have helped them remove many obstacles on Earth. Now they seem to have deliberately taken such a long detour to prevent us from returning to Mars. I feel there must be some hidden agenda behind this. The fog over Penglai Immortal Island will not dissipate easily; if we want to return to Mars, we can only rely on ourselves."
Xiaoli thought for a moment and said, "That's impossible; your intuition is off. I haven't seen anyone leading us by the nose."
Kairuot asked, "Let me ask you, who told you there was trouble on Mars?"
"Belle."
"Where did she get that information?"
"She didn't tell me, and I didn't ask."
Kairuot complained, "You all have been organizing the Penglai Martial Arts Festival for almost a year now. Isn't this event taking too long? You didn't even send me a reply, leaving me waiting at White Horse Temple for a year. If I had known it would be like this, I should have returned to Penglai Immortal Island with you."
"The festival ended a long time ago. At that time, I wanted to return to White Horse Temple, but since I wasn't familiar with the way back, I couldn't make it. Then my mother fell ill for a while, and I took care of her for several months, which delayed my trip back to White Horse Temple. This time, Belle specifically arranged a boat to take me out of Penglai Immortal Island so that I could come and tell you this news. Is there a problem with that?"
At this point in the conversation, Kairuot couldn't provide any solid evidence to support his suspicions.
"I was thinking," Kairuot changed the subject, "the Capricornian has built such a long passage; they must have also constructed a base nearby. The Earth's poles are the areas with the strongest magnetic fields and are also the best places for building bases. If we search carefully, we should definitely be able to find it."
