Kairuot and Xiaoli walked down the corridor and found the Central Control Hall. They saw that the equipment in the room was intact, showing no signs of damage. 0

Kairuot approached the Control Center and activated the Central Control Equipment switch with his Wristband. The Screen Wall immediately displayed the locations of various rooms, labeling each room's function, including a lounge, Food Storage, and a Spare Armory. A small backup multi-person armed mech was parked at the entrance and exit of the corridor, ready to be activated for escape at any moment. Kairuot happily said, "With this equipment, we have a better chance of breaking into the Capricornian Base." 0

Following the map on the screen, they found the Spare Armory. The two quickly put on their combat suits and helmets. Xiaoli filled her waist with Missiles and chose a heavy Laser Gun and a Laser Pistol, just like Kairuot. 0

Their outfits were replicas of the Mars Special Forces. To carry more weapons and food, they took nothing else and hurriedly made their way to the backup armed mech. 0

Kairuot opened the mech's hatch but found a person sitting motionless in the cockpit. This Martian officer had been dead for some time; due to the extreme cold of the Arctic, the body had not decayed. Kairuot approached and looked at the wound on his chest, saying, "He must have escaped here after being shot in the chest, but due to his severe injuries, he died before he could activate the mech." 0

Kairuot saluted the deceased officer and then placed him in a lounge, bowing to him as he said, "Rest here for now. If we can return here again, I will ensure you receive a proper burial." 0

After laying the officer to rest, they returned to the mech's cockpit and activated it. As the mech powered up, its escape hatch opened automatically, and it soared out of the base, hovering above the Arctic Base. 0

They looked out through the mech's windows. Below them stood the grand Arctic Pyramid, showcasing the technological advancement of the Martians and adding a beautiful sight to this desolate and cold Arctic region. 0

It was noon in the Arctic during Polar Night; apart from a glimmer of light, there was nothing but a dark sky. That glimmer of hope disappeared from sight almost as soon as it appeared. Gazing at the cold, lofty sky and breathtaking pyramid, Xiaoli complained, "I really don't understand why these Homo Sapiens always like to build bases in such desolate places where nothing grows. And they fight tooth and nail over this place." 0

Kairuot told Xiaoli, "The North and South Poles of Earth are extremely important strategic locations and have unique magnetic fields. They are crucial battlegrounds for Capricornians entering Earth; how can they be considered desolate?" 0

Just then, suddenly, the distant horizon brightened—"Look! The Arctic is quite beautiful!" Kairuot exclaimed excitedly while pointing at the sky. 0

"Aurora Borealis!" Xiaoli couldn't help but shout after following Kairuot's gaze. 0

Before them, dozens of deep green light bands abruptly burst forth from the clouds in the pitch-black night sky, momentarily forming a pale yellow-edged cloud band. Then the entire sky became colorful; this marvelous Aurora Borealis did not last long, as the various light bands gradually melted back into the darkness, evoking a dreamlike imagination. 0

After the Aurora Borealis, the entire sky fell back into darkness. Following the navigation's guidance, they landed their mecha on a high ground in the Arctic. Once the mecha transformed into humanoid form, it left footprints in the snow as it took careful steps across the white landscape. They were searching for Capricornian's Arctic Base, which, according to the navigation display, was nearby. 0

Soon, the two entered an area filled with floating ice blocks. 0

The weather in the Arctic can change suddenly; what had been a quiet night turned into a raging storm with howling winds and blizzards. 0

The storm roared, sweeping through the heavy snowfall. Without the protection of this mecha, it would be difficult for them to advance. 0

The small ice blocks beneath their feet collided under the onslaught of the storm, producing terrifying crashing sounds and stirring up frightening waves, with chunks of ice occasionally shattering. 0

In this harsh weather, their mecha jumped forward over larger ice blocks. Kairuot said, "The navigation shows that this base is beneath these ice blocks. I have a feeling that this area is filled with broken ice; unlike other places, there shouldn't be broken ice at this season. This must be man-made." 0

Xiaoli looked out at the fierce blizzard and said, "I feel we should be nearby as well. In such extreme cold weather, it's unlikely anyone would appear; even machines wouldn't dare to stay outside for long." 0

Just then, a humanoid mecha emerged from among the broken ice blocks. Seeing Kairuot's mecha, it launched an attack first, firing a series of lasers in an attempt to catch them off guard. 0

Kairuot's mecha quickly fell to the ground to evade the attack while simultaneously counterattacking. The two mechas engaged in fierce combat above the Arctic. 0

Although Kairuot's Small Mecha was agile, it was significantly inferior in weaponry. After several exchanges, while the opponent sustained some light injuries from multiple hits, they could not take down the enemy mecha. Kairuot realized that continuing like this would not lead to victory against his opponent. Therefore, he quickly transformed into a small Submarine and plunged into the sea, with the enemy mecha following closely behind. 0

Kairuot's Submarine was small but maneuvered through underwater reefs with remarkable agility and speed, leaving the pursuing mecha far behind and unable to catch up. Subsequently, they quietly parked their small Submarine in a deeper trench, shut down the engine, and waited to observe what would happen next. 0

The enemy mech searched aimlessly at the bottom of the sea for a while but could not find Kairuot's Submarine. Unwilling to let the prize slip away, it activated its strongest Radar for comprehensive detection, yet found nothing. After waiting quietly for over an hour without spotting the small Submarine, it reluctantly moved closer to the base. The mech quickly transformed back into its humanoid form, standing like a tall armored warrior, vigilantly guarding the entrance of the base. 0

Kairuot and Xiaoli decided to abandon their current mech. They feared that once the small Submarine surfaced, it would be detected by the enemy's powerful Radar, leading to an attack from both the base and the enemy mech, leaving them no way to escape. After all, this trench was not far from Capricorn Star Base. By quietly swimming over, they hoped to catch the enemy off guard and make it harder for them to be discovered, thus ensuring greater safety. 0

They opened the hatch of the mech and swam out from the deep trench, gradually approaching Capricorn Planet's Arctic Base along the dark currents. As they neared the base, they noticed the pursuing mech standing silently beside it. Kairuot gestured for them to move closer to this mech. 0
