Kairuot realized he had been deceived by Kairuoka—he was locked in a specially designed room made of a unique metal. Kairuot tried various methods but could not open the door. The room was sealed with no windows, and no matter how loudly Kairuot shouted, he could not be heard outside.
Kailong originally planned to lock Fair Connie in this room as well, but their relationship was too distant, and he couldn't find a suitable reason to trick her into entering. However, by keeping Kairuot inside, he felt that at least he had removed one of Fair Connie's capable assistants. With Mars Base lacking Marshal, the threat to him had significantly decreased.
To fully seize power over the Kairo Tribe, Kailong ordered the Second Army Group stationed in the outskirts of Kairo City to enter the city directly. Troops were dispatched to guard important departments of the Kairo Tribe, and forces were also arranged at key ports, airports, and bases to inspect passersby. The entire Kairo City was on high alert.
Faced with such a tense situation, the citizens of the city were confused about what major event had occurred. The chief had just been buried, and most people were still deeply reminiscing about him when the sudden influx of troops disrupted their peaceful lives. The long-awaited unity of Mars was shattered by the newly appointed leader Kailong.
The day after his brother's burial, Kailong eagerly announced himself as the king of the Kairo Tribe in the grand hall of Kairo Mansion, establishing the Kairo Nation.
While Mars was actively working to break family restrictions and abolish feudalism, Kailong went against this trend, strongly advocating for a more autocratic leadership system. His leadership did not require public endorsement; he simply took over from his brother. Anyone who opposed him would be considered an enemy. He also publicly declared that the Kairo Tribe was breaking away from the Mars United Government and that it would become an independent Kairo Nation.
Kailong's actions naturally faced opposition from all families on Mars. They demanded punishment for this traitor who disrupted national unity. However, with the Mars Alliance Government just established and in need of rebuilding, the strongest military forces were Mars Base and the First and Second Combined Arms Groups. With Kairuot currently missing and Kailong occupying a third of the power, there was a need for leadership at the base. Fair Connie had no choice but to assign Xiaoli to Mars Base as the temporary commander to prepare for an attack against Kailong.
Fair Connie issued an order against Kailong under her authority as Chairman of the Mars United Government. Supreme Commander Kai Ruo Yunpeng urgently mobilized various forces, ordering Marshal Kairozhi of the First Army Group to advance south from the north, while Marshal Rocchio of the Third Army Group led his troops from the south. The Fifth Army Group under Marshal Fei Mu would flank from the west, forming a three-pronged assault on Kairo City. Mars Base would act as a mobile force ready to support other Combined Arms Groups in their attack on Kairo City.
However, seeing the chaos on Mars, Marshal Fei Mu of the Fifth Army Group began to plot his own strategy, ignoring both Chairman of the Mars United Government's orders and Marshal's mobilization. He believed it was a good opportunity for Fair Tribe's development and took advantage of it by having his father Fei Er Kang Lai declare Fair Tribe's independence and establish Fair Nation. They quickly formed a council and elected Fei Er Kang Lai as Chairman of Fair Nation.
Marshal Rocchio of the Third Army Group observed the internal independence movements on Mars without taking action; he was waiting for an opportunity to establish Roches Nation.
In light of this chaotic situation, Fair Connie regretted not disrupting military structures during her initial peaceful transition and failing to carry out a comprehensive reorganization, which led to today's predicament. She recognized that her most reliable forces were those from the First Army Group, Mars Base, and Ghost Star Mountain Base that guarded the Mars United Government.
As the strongest force within Mars United Government, Fair Connie decided to personally oversee operations at Mars Base. She arrived at Mars Base in her specialized mech.
Accompanied by Xiaoli, she personally inspected the important departments of the base, which was in a state of first-level combat readiness.
Fair Connie suddenly recalled a conversation with Kairuoka and asked Xiaoli, "I heard Kairuoka mention that the factory at the base has produced the latest Command Ship, which has strong defense and combat capabilities. Let's go check it out at the manufacturing facility."
Xiaoli, being new to the place, found the vast Mars Base to be like a small planet. She had no idea where the manufacturing facility was located, so she ordered her assistant nearby, "Take us to the Command Ship manufacturing factory immediately; the Chairman wants to understand the production situation."
The assistant quickly led them into a rather ordinary building within the base. After passing through several checkpoints, they arrived at a closed Maglev Station underground. Through facial recognition, fingerprints, and a password set with a finger sleeve, they opened the door to enter the maglev vehicle. Sitting comfortably, before Xiaoli could speak, the assistant had already activated the special vehicle. Inside the enclosed maglev tube, the vehicle moved at high speed, taking them to an extremely mysterious location—the Mars Base Command Ship manufacturing facility—in less than an hour.
They saw through the glass window that robots were diligently assembling Command Ships inside. The assistant informed them, "This is the final process; the completed Command Ships will be sent to their respective large hangars for program input and testing by the Command Center before being sent into space for practical verification. Each hangar is like a home for the Command Ships."
Fair Connie asked, "Where is your latest Command Ship now?"
The assistant replied, "It's at the Weapon Testing Ground; it will take another half hour to drive there from here." The assistant used a Wristband to summon a military vehicle that arrived in front of them. They all got into this Military Vehicle and headed towards the latest Command Ship's Weapon Testing Ground.
Before they reached the Weapon Testing Ground, they saw from a distance on the flat and expansive Experimental Base a giant Command Ship standing in humanoid form. It was as tall as fifty or sixty stories of a building. This giant steel structure shone under the sunlight, its armor glimmering impressively and looking very striking.
Everyone in the Military Vehicle immediately recognized it as Mars Base's latest giant Command Ship. Upon seeing it, Xiaoli exclaimed, "Wow! This is my first time seeing such a giant Command Ship. If we had more of these Command Ships, we wouldn't fear any invaders."
"This Command Ship is still undergoing its final testing phase. Once all its mounted weapons have been tested, it will be handed over for use by Mars Base."
The Military Vehicle slowly approached the giant Command Ship's feet as they entered the testing ground. The three of them got out of the vehicle and realized how small they appeared; even their Military Vehicle was not as big as a fingernail of the Command Ship. Standing at the foot of this giant Command Ship, they could not even see its head.
"Fair Connie" said to the assistant, "Can we take a tour inside the Command Ship?"
"Sure," the assistant replied.
No one expected that at that moment, the Command Ship suddenly transformed into a giant spaceship. The entrance door to the cabin had already opened, facing the three of them. Before they could react, the Spiral Staircase leading up and down the ship was already set up in front of them.
"Fei Er Connie" exclaimed, "Your Command Ship is so advanced and so intelligent; it has considered everything we might think of."
The three of them then ascended the Spiral Staircase and entered the interior of the Command Ship.
