Bai Yujing pushed a suitcase and carried a bag, looking around at the intersection. It wasn't long before he saw a wine-red Ford stop in front of him. The sporty Ford Focus rolled down its window, and a blonde beauty wearing sunglasses leaned out, instantly confirming Bai Yujing's target.
"So you drove here. I was wondering why you made me wait here," Emma said as she opened the car door and stepped out. She wore a white t-shirt paired with a brown high-waisted midi skirt and black stockings, complemented by a pair of black knee-high boots that showcased her curvy, slender legs.
Over her outfit, she had on a light linen coat that reached only to her elbows. The originally cute and charming Emma suddenly exuded a mature vibe.
"My goodness, I can hardly recognize you. You look absolutely stunning today," Emma leaned against the car door, striking a model-like pose, clearly wanting Bai Yujing to compliment her. Bai Yujing was more than willing to shower her with praise.
Emma seemed very happy as she opened the trunk to help Bai Yujing load his luggage. Inside the trunk, there was also a suitcase and a package belonging to Emma, indicating that she had decided to join Bai Yujing for a few days of fun.
Just as they set down the suitcase, the previously overcast sky began to drizzle. The weather in Scotland is notoriously unpredictable; it often rains, and you never know when it might suddenly turn foul. Scotland is mostly cloudy, with the sun rarely making an appearance, so Bai Yujing had indeed encountered some rare good weather just a couple of days ago.
The right-hand drive made Bai Yujing feel somewhat uncomfortable; he always felt that the passenger seat should have the steering wheel. The car's heater was on, and Emma had tossed her coat aside. Bai Yujing couldn't help but feel restless as he glanced at Emma's long legs in black stockings and the way her top barely concealed her ample bosom.
"Do you want to listen to some music?" Emma asked as she turned on the radio, and a familiar tune filled the air—"Yesterday Once More" by The Carpenters.
As the music played, the atmosphere in the car shifted. "Yesterday Once More" was indeed a classic; Bai Yujing often heard it on school broadcasts when he was younger, stirring up fond memories.
"Every sha-la-la-la"
"Every wo-o-wo-o"
"Still shines"
Bai Yujing couldn't help but sing along softly. Emma looked at him in surprise: "You like The Carpenters too? My dad is a huge fan; he set up a record player at home just to play their music."
Bai Yujing replied immediately, "Of course! This song is quite popular in China too. We often heard it on school broadcasts."
"Really? It seems that the saying 'music knows no borders' is true," Emma said with a smile.
Bai Yujing nodded, "Absolutely, it's a true classic."
"My beautiful guide, have you arranged our itinerary for later? I booked two hotel rooms for tomorrow night. I initially wanted to book in Portree, but it seems fully booked. So we don't need to rush; it's quite a distance, and we can take our time. We can find somewhere to rest for the night along the way and enjoy the scenery," Bai Yujing said to Emma.
Emma looked at Bai Yujing: "You booked two rooms? You seem quite honest."
"Wait? Did I do something wrong? Should I cancel one now?" Bai Yujing paused, realizing he might have missed something important.
Emma immediately smiled and said, "No, if you do that, I'll make you sleep outside the door tonight."
Bai Yujing pretended to pick something up but could only put it down, showing a look of frustration.
However, Emma ignored Bai Yujing's disappointment and continued driving, saying, "You've experienced the city vibe of Edinburgh these past few days, and now I'm going to take you to see the beautiful wilderness of Scotland. The beauty of nature is the most magnificent; I promise it will leave you with unforgettable memories."
"Traveling with a beautiful woman is already an unforgettable memory for me," Bai Yujing said with a raised eyebrow and a smile.
Emma didn't mind Bai Yujing's well-timed joke; they had developed a good rapport and were somewhat used to each other. "Cairnryan is located on Skye Island, so our goal this time is Skye Island. I'm planning to take the A82 route; the scenery along the way is the best. We'll pass by Loch Lomond and can take a look at Loch Lomond and the nearby town. From there, we'll head up to the Highlands and find a hotel to rest for the night."
"Tomorrow we can visit William's Fort; there are many nice sights in that area. I can take you to see Glenfinnan, where Harry Potter traveled to Gryffindor. I went there as a child and even took the train there, always dreaming that the train could take me to Gryffindor."
Emma immediately began sharing some childhood stories, which piqued Bai Yujing's curiosity. "I'm looking forward to seeing it."
"Don't worry; you won't be disappointed. We will arrive at Cairnryan on time tomorrow. To be honest, I'm quite excited about this trip. If we really find a Leprechaun, I will!"
Emma got a bit excited but quickly calmed down. "Well, if there really is a Leprechaun, I think I would keep that secret. For them, the greatest threat in this world is humanity."
"That's true; humans are the most terrifying and destructive creatures in this world!" Bai Yujing shrugged.
The car gradually moved away from the city, revealing another side of Scotland to Bai Yujing. Leaving behind the bustling city life, the roads were narrow but filled with vehicles; in some areas where the roads were particularly tight, traffic congestion occurred. Both sides were lined with high mountains, and the air was incredibly fresh.
As they approached Loch Lomond, numerous signs appeared indicating many private properties and farms in this area. However, entry was not prohibited; it wasn't as terrifying as what was often portrayed back home about trespassing in foreign lands leading to being shot.
Here, they also saw many groups of tourists and families driving around for leisure. Their first stop was a small town next to Loch Lomond called Luss, which had many beautiful legends associated with it. Among them was a story about a knight of passion here—cough cough, perhaps that's not an appropriate topic.
Loch Lomond is characterized by dozens of small islands scattered across its lakes. Alongside the lakes are various farms and attractions; there are also numerous established villas and inns along the lakeshore. This place is an important tourist destination in Scotland, with nearby golf clubs and various water sports available, as well as national parks and children's playgrounds. The surrounding farms also engage in tourism-related businesses offering activities and accommodations.
The light blue calm lake surface contrasted with the distant brown mountains and low clouds that seemed almost at mountain peak level, creating an instant sense of tranquility.
Emma took Bai Yujing out of the car for a brief stop and informed him that they could only get out where there were signs with the letter 'P.' Generally, people would slow down upon seeing this letter to avoid accidents.
"This area’s towns are quite nice! If I had to describe it in one sentence, it would be: welcome to a fairy tale world." Emma led Bai Yujing into Luss town. As they walked through, Bai Yujing noticed that Emma's description was indeed accurate.
Tall and sturdy trees showed no signs of deliberate cultivation or planting; they grew in peculiar shapes. There was also a small river connecting to Loch Lomond with simple wooden bridges that appeared natural and pure.
In this town, there were hardly any tall buildings; most were short and designed in a fairy tale style. The residents had decorated their homes extensively, planting numerous flowers around their houses. Blooming flowers filled every corner of the town, making it feel like a paradise on earth.
"This place has so many flowers; it feels like a fairy tale town," Bai Yujing said to Emma while looking around.
"Of course, it is also known as the Flower Town."
The small houses were lined up close together, each with its own yard, and various flowers were blooming beautifully. After exploring the town, Bai Yujing took Emma to rent a rubber boat at a small dock to row on the lake.
"Hey!" Bai Yujing splashed the water, immediately startling a nearby swan into flight, along with a flock of brown ducks that quacked loudly.
Bai Yujing's splashing was vigorous, and some water splashed onto Emma: "Ah!"
"Sorry! How are you? Did you get wet?" Bai Yujing asked with concern, noticing the chilly weather in Scotland.
Emma quickly shook her head and replied, "It's fine; just a few drops on my face. So, what do you think? Isn't the scent of nature even more wonderful?"
Bai Yujing nodded, "It feels more free and comfortable here. But the city is nice too; you can experience different cultural vibes. Both are great."
Feeling satisfied, the two set off again. As they got into the car, Bai Yujing said, "It's almost noon; why don't we just eat here?"
Emma shook her head, "There are plenty of small towns ahead. We can stop somewhere in between for lunch. If we delay too long, we might have to drive at night."
"Alright then, I'll follow the guide!"
