Bai Yujing felt extremely tired. He didn't expect to be woken up early in the morning by Emara for a run. The two of them, dressed in blue and red jackets, ran for more than half an hour before stopping, panting heavily. 0

"Exercise requires persistence. Once it becomes a habit, I think you'll come to love the feeling of sweating," Emara said after finishing her workout, encouraging Bai Yujing to adopt exercise as a good habit while taking off her clothes to prepare for a shower. 0

After Emara had undressed completely and entered the bathroom, Bai Yujing mischievously took off his clothes and barged in, only to be met with a sharp scream. "Get out! You can't come in!" 0

The two of them playfully splashed around for a while before finally finishing their shower and getting ready for breakfast. The hotel offered a buffet-style breakfast with bread, toast, and latte coffee. However, Bai Yujing seemed somewhat distracted, constantly glancing out the window at an old wooden house not far away. 0

"What is that wooden house used for?" Bai Yujing asked an elderly man working in the restaurant. 0

The old man glanced outside. "Oh, that? That used to be a restaurant, but it's been abandoned now. Is there anything else I can help you with?" 0

Bai Yujing shook his head. "No, thank you for your answer!" 0

"You're welcome!" 0

Emara, who was close to Bai Yujing, noticed something was off with him. "What's wrong? Is something bothering you?" 0

Bai Yujing wasn't quite sure what was going on yet, but when he passed by that small house last night, the Exotic Creature Hunter System had issued an alert. There must be something related to Exotic Creatures inside. Bai Yujing decided he would check it out later. 0

"I feel like there's something in there. Let's go take a look!" Bai Yujing said with a mysterious expression, piquing Emara's interest. 0

"Oh my gosh, you don't mean..." 0

The two hurriedly finished their breakfast and made their way to the small house. Although it was no longer a restaurant, it appeared that someone often came to clean it, so it didn't look too dilapidated. The door was locked, preventing them from entering. 0

Bai Yujing immediately suggested, "Should we go ask the owner for the key?" 0

But Emara replied, "No need. Just follow me." 0

Emma circled around to the back, opened the window, and with a strong push, climbed inside, looking at Bai Yujing from the inside. "Come in!" 0

"Alright, this is not a bad idea!" Although she felt a bit uneasy about breaking in like this, since Emma had already gone in, there was no other choice. After all, it was just an abandoned little house; it couldn't be considered trespassing. 0

The front door was tightly locked, and only a few beams of light came through the windows. The room was not very bright; the morning sun shone on the floor, revealing countless specks of dust and microorganisms floating in the sunlight. 0

The layout of the house was quite old-fashioned. Inside, it was empty except for an ancient wardrobe, above which hung a statue of a goat's head. According to the direction indicated by Radar, Bai Yujing saw a small door on one side. 0

Bai Yujing walked over and pushed open the door, with Emma following behind. "This should be the back kitchen. Look, there's even a small window here; it must be used for passing dishes." 0

Stepping inside, they found it indeed was a kitchen. It was spacious enough to accommodate several people working. The worktop was made of marble, but the storage cabinets above were wooden. A large iron rack on top resembled an ancient candlestick from the medieval period. 0

"It seems like there's nothing here," Emma said as she searched around, feeling it was just an ordinary kitchen. 0

Bai Yujing smiled. "It's not that easy to find something. That's why my appearance is needed at this moment." 0

Bai Yujing jumped onto the worktop and began opening the storage cabinets one by one. When he reached the last one at the end, Radar beeped more insistently. Bai Yujing knocked on the cabinet and immediately heard a thumping sound. 0

After knocking around, he discovered that the upper right corner was hollow; other areas were solid. Bai Yujing tore off a newspaper stuck on top and found a small hole behind it. 0

He turned on his flashlight and immediately saw something inside the small hole. Using his fingers to pull it out, he discovered it was a very small rope ladder. Bai Yujing became excited; who could use such a small rope ladder? Besides Leprechauns, who else? Don't tell me mice can make rope ladders too. 0

Emma stood on the kitchen worktop and saw this scene as well, instantly becoming extremely excited and shouting out loud, "Ian, my God, this is real! Your discovery is real; it really exists!" 0

Emma had been skeptical before, but seeing this with her own eyes was truly uplifting. After all, this was Bai Yujing's first visit here, and Emma had personally brought him along. This discovery surely wasn't something prepared in advance; it genuinely existed. 0

Looking at the small hole, it seemed that the rope ladder had been passed down from above. This indicated that they might be living in the attic of the house; since it was only a single-story building, "It looks like they are likely living up there." 0

Emma stood in place, pacing back and forth, stomping her feet, looking extremely excited. "They should be considered endangered species, or perhaps even undiscovered ones." 0

"No, no, they are intelligent; they are sentient beings. Maybe I should greet them?" 0

Bai Yujing shrugged. "Perhaps I should tell you some bad news!" 0

"What news?" Emma looked at Bai Yujing, her face still flushed with excitement. 0

Bai Yujing gently crumpled the rope ladder that had been pulled out, turning it into dust. "This place must have been built many years ago and has been abandoned for a long time. They probably no longer live here." 0

"Oh, I wanted to make friends with them. Just a moment ago, I was thinking about what phrases and tone would be best to introduce myself," Emma said, feeling a bit disappointed. 0

Bai Yujing immediately replied, "As long as we prove they exist, we will eventually meet them. Now we need to find traces of their existence to thoroughly confirm our thoughts." 0

Bai Yujing and Emma borrowed a small set of tools from the nearby villagers. Then Bai Yujing opened a wooden board on the ceiling and cautiously peeked around but found nothing. 0

Bai Yujing was taken aback; this shouldn't be the case. The radar indicated they were right here. Bai Yujing leaned out of the kitchen window to look outside and saw a small metal sign nailed to the wall of a high wooden house. 0

Standing at the window, Bai Yujing used a stick to lift the sign and discovered a small opening. 0

"Got it! We made a significant discovery; let's go outside!" Bai Yujing shouted to Emma. 0

Bai Yujing let Emma sit on his shoulders. The two formed a human ladder and stood in front of the wall outside the kitchen. Emma carefully lifted the metal sign and peered inside but remained silent for a while. 0

Bai Yujing grew anxious. "What’s going on? Emma, did you see anything?" 0

At that moment, Emma was stunned by what she saw. Inside the small opening was a tiny room—a small living room with two doors on either side, about ten centimeters high and thirty centimeters wide. It was a rather narrow little living room, but it had everything one could need inside. 0

A small human cup was used as a flower bed placed near a small metal sign, but it had long been devoid of flowers, leaving only dried sand inside. A small wooden chair, a table, and a simple red sofa could be seen, along with a toothpick-sized mop thrown in the center of the living room. 0

It looked like no one had lived there for a long time, but it was clear that someone had once lived here. The interior must have been richly decorated at one time, but now everything had been taken away; the people were gone, leaving an empty house. 0

Emma felt her mind go blank. In this world, there existed beings that looked exactly like humans, possessing their own intelligence and culture—Leprechauns—and you would never know they might be right beside you, brushing past you without notice. 0

“Emma, Emma?” Bai Yujing called out several times before Emma snapped back to reality. 0

Bai Yujing set Emma down and looked at her with concern. “What’s wrong? Did you not notice? It’s okay, we can…” 0

Emma shook her head. “No, no, no. You’re right; I saw it. There really were Leprechauns living here. I just… I just find it so incredible. I’m wondering how they live. Do they rely on humans for survival? Humans are both their threat and their source of dependence. They are so fragile and small; any careless action could lead to their death or extinction.” 0

“Even if we find them, what can we do?” Emma said sentimentally. This was understandable; anyone who could participate in the Endangered Species Conservation Organization would have such feelings to some extent. 0

Bai Yujing hugged Emma and said, “At least we can find them, learn about their origins, and prove that they truly existed.” 0

“Don’t you want to meet them? Ask them directly? That would answer all your questions.” 0

Emma nodded, her face lighting up with a smile. She kissed Bai Yujing and said, “You’re right; I should meet them. Perhaps we are the next Lemuel Gulliver!” 0

Emma and Bai Yujing carefully dismantled a small piece of wood and took away everything left behind by the Leprechauns. How should I put it? When Bai Yujing was working, he always felt a guilty conscience as if he were stealing, constantly afraid that someone nearby would discover them. 0

After loading the items into the car, Bai Yujing made sure to take a tour around the small town to confirm there were no other discoveries before driving away with Emma. 0
