When the photo of Bai Yujing, severely injured, was uploaded online, it caused a huge uproar. Although there had been no news from Bai Yujing recently, the publisher had been heavily promoting his upcoming book, and with his fan base surpassing ten million early on, he had gained a significant amount of influence online.
In the photo, a destroyed vehicle lay next to a flowerbed, emitting thick black smoke. Bai Yujing was lying on the ground, covered in blood, looking as if he were on the verge of death. Underneath Bai Yujing's Weibo post, comments piled up rapidly. At that moment, Bai Yujing was still dazed and unaware of what was happening. After Qian Jia left, he opened his phone and saw a long list of missed calls, with his parents' call at the top.

He then returned calls to Wang Yi and Haiyang who had called him. Just after hanging up, Xu Keke's call came through.
