Two people in the research institute stared at the star map projected on the screen for a long time, one elderly and one middle-aged. They appeared to be from different generations, yet they felt like old friends, occasionally nodding and shaking their heads at the screen, then discussing privately.
Qian Jia waited for a long time and was becoming somewhat impatient. "Professors, is there no result yet?"
The Middle-Aged Professor walked over. "Qian, after our preliminary analysis, the observation point of this star map should be in Antarctica."
"Antarctica?" Qian Jia did not expect it to be here. As the last continent logged by humanity, Antarctica is also one of the most mysterious places in the world. Qian Jia drove around the busiest part of the city and stopped at a building in a densely populated residential area. When Bai Yujing got out and looked around, he realized it was a research institute. He didn't understand why Qian Jia brought him here but followed her out of the car.
The building wasn't very tall, only eight stories, but there were still many people coming and going. It seemed to belong to a legitimate national research institute, and the building itself was quite impressive. Bai Yujing felt somewhat confused but sat down with Qian Jia. The Middle-Aged Professor stepped up to the podium and pointed at a star map displayed on the screen. We have ultimately determined that the star map shown here should be in this area; it matches perfectly."
The Middle-Aged Professor enlarged the star map, and two images immediately overlapped almost without any significant discrepancies—only some minor details didn't align, but the central point of Orion matched completely.
Qian Jia nodded. "So where is this location?"
The Middle-Aged Professor then pulled up another image: "Based on this star map and with input from computer analysis and Professor He, a geography expert, we have determined that it should be in this area."
Upon hearing this, Bai Yujing realized that they were discussing information revealed within the Center; these were experts calculating precise locations. However, after looking at the map on the screen, Bai Yujing felt something was off. Although he wasn't great at geography, he should still be able to recognize such a large continental plate—but he couldn't recall anything like it!
"Excuse me, Professor, may I ask where this place is?" Bai Yujing immediately inquired.
The Middle-Aged Professor pointed at the screen and adjusted his glasses. "This is located deep within Antarctica, close to Southeast Antarctica, in the area between Prince Charles Mountain and Gao Yuan Point in Antarctica. However, for now, we can only narrow down our search to this circular range, which covers over three hundred thousand square kilometers—almost the size of two provinces."
Bai Yujing didn't really hear the rest of the conversation and felt a bit dumbfounded: "Are you saying this place is in Antarctica?"
The Middle-Aged Professor glanced at Bai Yujing and then at Qian Jia: "Didn't Team Leader Qian tell you? When we first got this star map, we roughly deduced that it should be in the vicinity of Antarctica."
Qian Jia patted Bai Yujing on the shoulder: "Alright, Professor, please continue."
Bai Yujing listened to the reminiscence until it ended, feeling that this adventure seemed to be much more difficult than he had imagined. After all, this was Antarctica, a place that maintained temperatures below freezing for most of the year, rarely visited by humans, and almost impossible for people to survive. "Great! Next month, there will be a Research Team heading to Antarctica. I will arrange for you to join them. At that time, I will assign some members to be part of your team. You can also let me know what kind of people you need; I can help you select them. Get ready!" Qian Jia nodded appreciatively at Bai Yujing.
Bai Yujing immediately asked: "Aren't you going?"
