Several people arrived at the target location on their snowboards, some moving forward and others backward. Catherine glanced back at Liu Hai, who threw several Detonators out of his backpack and shouted at them.
"Here, here, and over there, place one in each spot!"
"Everyone get ready. Wait for my signal, and then we’ll trigger the detonators and throw them together!"
The snowboards left long trails on the Ice Surface as everyone crouched down and began to slow down. At that moment, the Giant Monsters behind them also followed closely, converging onto the Ice Surface with a cacophony of sounds.
Amidst the noise, the sound of cracking ice could be faintly heard. However, the Ice Surface here had been frozen for a longer period, so it could still barely support the weight of the Yeti. Catherine, John, Liu Hai, and the driver had now stopped, watching as the swarm of Giant Monsters drew nearer.
Dozens of massive Yetis charged across the snowy surface, creating a momentum akin to a stampede. Although everyone was sweating profusely from fear, they all knew this was their only chance. Liu Hai felt the same; if they couldn't get past this hurdle, he would likely die here too.
Liu Hai couldn't help but think of that poor guy whose nose had frozen off and died here. He shivered involuntarily and thought, "I don't want to end up like that guy. I want to survive!"
Liu Hai raised his head and roared with all his might, "Ready, throw!"
The four of them simultaneously threw their Detonators according to Liu Hai's planned direction. Although there was some distance variation, it was sufficient. At that moment, all the Giant Monsters sensed something was wrong. The three-meter-tall Giant Monster leading the pack stared at the Detonators falling from above and let out an angry roar.

Four intense bursts of flames ignited in succession during this polar night. The Ice Surface, which had already shown slight cracks, suddenly split apart. In an instant, like a chain reaction, cracks spread across the ground like a spider web, with massive gashes appearing on the earth's surface.
Finally, another section of the Ice Surface could no longer hold, and the entire Ice Surface began to tilt, revealing the bottomless abyss beneath. At this moment, dozens of Giant Monsters had gathered in one place. The Ice Surface started to drop at an angle, and all the Giant Monsters immediately began to lose their footing, sliding toward the abyss below. In the end, the entire Ice Surface collapsed.
The Giant Monsters sensed the danger; even with their immortal bodies, falling from such a height would shatter them into pieces. No matter how strong their regeneration abilities were, it would be useless. All the Giant Monsters struggled toward the edge of the ice fissure, hoping to jump out before the Ice Surface completely fell.
Liu Hai watched as several Giant Monsters leaped nearly ten meters high, truly attempting to escape from the ice fissure and claw their way out of this deadly situation. Liu Hai's face turned pale; even if only a few of these immortal monsters remained, they were beyond what he could bear.
At that moment, Catherine quickly reacted, drawing her handgun and firing several shots at the airborne Giant Monsters. She managed to shoot down two that were about to reach the Ice Wall. John also took action, knocking another Giant Monster down.
However, one of the Giant Monsters stubbornly withstood John's gunfire and clung tightly to the Ice Wall. Its sharp claws dug into the Ice Wall, and although the tremendous impact caused it to slide down several meters, it still managed to stabilize itself. As long as it exerted itself to climb up, it could escape from here and stand on the Ice Surface. At that time, it would mean death for Liu Hai and Catherine.
This was the leader of the Giant Monsters, a three-meter tall creature that had been shot in the chest and was now bleeding profusely. Its eyes were bloodshot as if they might bleed out; its fierce face and hateful gaze sent chills down Catherine's spine. Among all the pursuing Giant Monsters, it was the only one left. This realization filled it with hatred that was clearly reflected in its expression; it was determined to make these humans pay in blood for their debts.
However, these humans seemed unwilling to give it a chance. Their ignorance of human technology and biology had cost its kind dearly.

John steadily held his gun, shooting one after another at the Giant Monster's head. Despite its tough skin and flesh, with each shot, its head became increasingly mangled and bloody. Even in this situation, the Giant Monster continued to struggle upward toward the ice fissure. Finally, just under a meter away from the Ice Surface, John's last bullet pierced through its eye into its brain, causing its movements to cease.
"Roar!" At this moment, the roar of the Giant Monster became hoarse, filled with sorrow and resentment. With this roar, it lost all its strength and released its grip on the Ice Wall, plummeting into the abyss below.
As the Giant Monster leader fell, everyone's tense expressions relaxed, and John let out a loud roar, howling like a wolf, "Woo!"
The driver patted Liu Hai on the shoulder, and the two embraced each other. "We won! We defeated those monsters; we took them all down!"
John was extremely excited and shouted at Catherine, "We did it! Catherine..."
"Bang!"
Just as John was celebrating with enthusiasm, unable to believe that he had actually overcome such a group of monsters, he hadn't finished his last sentence when a bullet pierced through his forehead. John's smile towards Catherine instantly froze, and he collapsed into a nearby crevice in the ice.
Cheers and celebrations abruptly stopped. Catherine quickly turned around and fired several shots in the direction from which the threat came, but the approaching figure dodged swiftly. As it burrowed back into the snow, it disappeared from sight. In the dim light of the stars, it became difficult to pinpoint the exact location of the enemy. Catherine shone her flashlight around, only to see several bullets hit near her. She immediately turned off the flashlight; before she could find anyone else, it would expose her position, making her a target.
Someone in the darkness was watching them closely. Everyone immediately dropped to the ground. Even in the cold snow, their hearts that had just been lifted were now back in their throats.
"Bai Yujing, I know it's you. Come out; we can discuss this!" Catherine shouted loudly, trying to communicate with the attacker or perhaps to draw out their position through conversation.
At that moment, the driver crawled over to Catherine's side. They exchanged glances and then made a hand signal. The driver nodded immediately and began to crawl through the snow as they attempted to flank from the side.
