Bai Yujing turned around and saw Zhu Wei standing behind her. Bai Yujing calmly looked at Zhu Wei, who was now dressed in casual attire that resembled clothing from Atlantis, exuding a minimalist artistic vibe. The top and bottom were a matching set, and she was barefoot on the ground. "You came too?"
The indoor temperature had slowly begun to rise above freezing, so Bai Yujing took off her down jacket, goggles, and hat, holding the jacket in her hand while stuffing the rest into her backpack.
Noticing Bai Yujing's reaction, Professor Zhu raised an eyebrow. "You don't seem particularly surprised."
Bai Yujing nodded. "When you saw the Giant Monster earlier, your fearful expression was too fake. Also, when you spoke to me, it seemed emotional, but do you know? The eyes are windows; your acting isn't very good. The window inside is like a still pond, calm without any ripples! More importantly, I suddenly remembered where I had seen you before. There’s a photo in Lin Ruoqiao's bedroom of her mother holding her. Coincidentally, I happened to have seen it!"
Zhu Wei replied lightly, "Is that so? It seems I'm not suited for this role."
"What should I call you? Bai Ni? Zhu Wei? Or something else?" Bai Yujing asked from the steps of the plaza.
Zhu Wei walked through layers of fountains, her fair feet touching the water's surface and creating ripples. "Does it matter? I've been called many names, each accompanying me through a long life. You can call me whatever you like!"
"You’re back; what about the others?" Bai Yujing immediately inquired.
Zhu Wei said, "I left quietly. However, when I departed, I altered their memories; they won't remember me at all—only that you brought them to Antarctica."
Bai Yujing asked seriously, "You didn't alter my memory too, did you?"
Zhu Wei closed her eyes as if sensing something. "Your mind is different; your will is strong. If it were even stronger, perhaps it could give rise to a spirit. You haven't consumed Mermaid's Blood, yet your body seems different from ordinary people—it appears evolved. Could you be some kind of mutation or advanced evolution?"
"I'm not sure, but I'm curious—what's your purpose for coming here?" Bai Yujing asked.
Zhu Wei did not answer directly but instead said indirectly, "It has nothing to do with you; there’s no conflict between us!"
She was a mysterious woman; Bai Yujing found it difficult to gauge her thoughts using ordinary moral standards and emotional reasoning. Perhaps she had neither of those things within her heart. Zhu Wei stood before Bai Yujing and looked at this projected woman, who returned a business-like smile—very standard and friendly but utterly insincere.
The two seemed to be conversing, yet Bai Yujing could not grasp what they were saying. This was a unique way of communication among the descendants of Atlantis. Bai Yujing suddenly recalled the way Man communicated and what Man had said about spirits.
Her Shark Pearl was taken away by the woman in front of her, which means she inherited Man's legacy and became someone indistinguishable from the descendants of Atlantis.
As their conversation came to an end, Bai Yujing saw the Crystal Tower light up layer by layer, the crystal walls emitting a glow as if some kind of energy and device had been activated.
"What is this?" Bai Yujing immediately looked at Zhu Wei.
Zhu Wei said, "Energy Tower, let me use the Center!"
Bai Yujing quickly asked, "What do you want to do?"
Zhu Wei replied, "The Center is the key to activate this Poseidonia energy device. Only by doing this can we activate the Atlantis Royal City. The Poseidonia in a sealed state cannot be accessed; all entrances are locked, and forcing entry will immediately trigger a counterattack from the defense system!"
Skeptical, Bai Yujing placed the Center into Zhu Wei's hand. Zhu Wei immediately spoke to the projection, and she saw the crystals on the platform in front of the statue open layer by layer like rotating blades, pushing up a one-person-high Hexagonal Prism.
Holding the Center, Zhu Wei watched as it floated automatically into a circular groove on top of the Rhombus. Instantly, Bai Yujing saw beams of light spreading out from the bottom of the Rhombus, climbing towards the top. The lines then burst out from within the Rhombus, spectacularly spreading across the ground, rapidly extending upward along the layers of the Crystal Tower, and outward.
If Bai Yujing could see the entire situation beneath the Ice Surface, she would even see a massive object nearly ten thousand square kilometers in size being illuminated from one edge on the left side, as if the entire structure had suddenly been powered on, instantly becoming brightly lit.
This was a sci-fi structure entirely made of crystals, yet it appeared as a whole, presenting a ring shape with an enormous Sphere inside and numerous tubular passages connecting them.
Currently, Bai Yujing was situated atop a spire on the ring. There were many such spires across the entire ring, and those that were first illuminated gradually activated this massive object.
However, Bai Yujing could not see this; she only saw a row of small doors suddenly appear on what was once a seamless wall on the side of the square. "What is this?"
Zhu Wei glanced at Bai Yujing: "It's something similar to an elevator; didn't you just take one down?"
"...."
Bai Yujing wanted to say that she had walked down and it took quite a while. It turned out there was an elevator here!
After activating the energy, Zhu Wei immediately removed the Center and walked towards the large door at the base of the tower with Bai Yujing. As soon as Bai Yujing stepped outside, he saw a completely transparent space. Through the glass, he could see the outside world; they were underwater, and Bai Yujing could observe many strange fish and creatures.
The light emitted from the pipeline seemed to attract numerous underwater beings. Indeed, a large number of organisms still thrived at the bottom of this prehistoric lake, as evidenced by seeing those small beasts eating sea fish above.
Looking down beneath the frozen Bottom, Bai Yujing still couldn't see the bottom; the water was deep, and the living environment was vast. One could imagine that a large number of creatures lived here.
Continuing forward, a circular large door opened like a fan. Zhu Wei stepped in first, followed by Bai Yujing. In an instant, he saw the door close behind them, and then Bai Yujing began to float. He felt as if the ground had lost its attraction to him; he floated up like a balloon.
"What’s going on? What is happening?" Bai Yujing hurriedly asked Zhu Wei.
Zhu Wei explained, "This is a high-speed passage leading to Poseidonia's inner ring!"
"How do you know? A high-speed passage? Why don't I see any transportation tools?"
"The terminal intelligent system of the Energy Tower just introduced it, but you lack spirit, so you can't communicate with it. There’s no need for transportation tools here because..."
Bai Yujing didn't need to hear Zhu Wei's explanation any further because he felt himself rising.
Bai Yujing floated in mid-air within the transparent pipeline when he suddenly sensed a pulling force ahead. He felt as if he was slowly accelerating; as time passed, his speed increased significantly. The surroundings turned into mere afterimages due to the powerful velocity, testing Bai Yujing's physical endurance as he felt himself being drawn toward the destination like a magnet.
"Can’t we use a less violent means of transportation?" Bai Yujing's shout was stretched out by the extreme speed, echoing throughout the entire transport pipeline.
