Bai Yujing was abruptly halted, and with the restoration of gravity, he fell to the ground, feeling a bit dizzy. However, Zhu Wei nimbly performed a roll in the air and landed gracefully.
“Lala! Lalalala! Lalalala!”
“Lah! Lalalala!”
At that moment, Bai Yujing heard a sound that resembled singing, a blend of nature's sounds, and the soft moans of a woman. The voice seemed to penetrate his ears and directly flood into his brain, as if it could stimulate the secretion of hormones and evoke emotions, causing him to shiver involuntarily.
“Did you hear that?” Bai Yujing asked.
Zhu Wei frowned slightly. “Don’t mind them; it’s just the Merfolk trying to contact us. They’ve noticed that Poseidonia has been reactivated and think their kin have returned. They’re attempting to communicate with us!”
After exiting the tubular passage, they entered a Sphere. Once inside, Bai Yujing noticed a shift in gravity. When he entered, he was standing on the bottom of the tube, but as he climbed up, he found that gravity seemed to be above him. He flipped upside down before finally landing on his feet.
This sensation was quite strange. Once the Sphere closed, it immediately began to move. Bai Yujing then focused on the entire inner ring of Poseidonia and discovered that it was actually a city. He saw various skyscrapers rising beneath him.
It was evident that this was a highly developed metropolis. As the Sphere elevator continued deeper into the structure, Bai Yujing realized that the entire inner ring consisted of multiple layers of buildings. Above him was a virtual sky and atmosphere, while beneath one layer’s feet lay another layer’s sky; the entire inner ring was composed of these stacked layers.
Each layer was divided into multiple zones, arranged in a rational and meticulous manner that maximized all available space. The more Bai Yujing looked, the more he felt something was off; it didn’t seem like a city at all but rather—
“Could this be a gigantic spaceship?” Bai Yujing suddenly realized. This wasn’t just a simple city; it was an enormous Spaceship!
Zhu Wei glanced at Bai Yujing. “You’re only realizing this now? The Merfolk are not Earth’s creatures; they are extraterrestrial beings from Orion. This is their spacecraft, and Poseidonia is the name of this Spaceship. Did you really think Atlantis was just some Prehistoric Civilization?”
Bai Yujing then recalled Orion marked prominently on the star map. He had previously thought it was merely a reference point because Orion stood out so clearly on the map. Now it seemed that his earlier fanciful thoughts were correct—Atlantis truly had connections to Orion, or rather, they originated from Orion.
Many pieces of information had already been marked above, but he had not thought of them or had not obtained the key clues. Bai Yujing looked at Zhu Wei and asked, "How do you know so much? Are you also..."
Bai Yujing had a bold idea, but Zhu Wei immediately denied it: "I am not a descendant of Atlantis, but I know more than you can imagine. I have discovered the ruins of Atlantis and found many things and clues that I wanted, including records of their royal city and their origins!"
"Is that where the things from Shuiyuan Village came from?" Bai Yujing inquired.
Zhu Wei nodded: "You're right. I have been keeping an eye on you. I wanted to talk to you back then, but I didn't expect you to refuse!"
"I wouldn't dare to talk to you. Although Li Hao is your son, all the villagers of Shuiyuan Village were your descendants. Didn't you use them all to achieve your goals?" Bai Yujing said bluntly.
Zhu Wei looked at Bai Yujing: "Li Hao is different. At that time, I thought finding Poseidonia was impossible, so I left part of Center for him because he is my first son!"
"First son?" Bai Yujing suddenly understood something!
Zhu Wei nodded: "That's right. Only females can inherit the mermaid bloodline, and the offspring are all girls. I have tried many times; Li Hao is the special one. Otherwise, do you think a few of you from Shuiyuan Village could solve it and get in? Without my permission, everyone who enters has only one way to die!"
As the Sphere elevator moved freely through a dark passage, it finally arrived at the bottom of Poseidonia's inner ring. Once the entrance closed behind them, Bai Yujing felt as if he had entered a different world, resembling an ancient city.
A retro circular city appeared before him, with a gigantic sun overhead. Upon closer inspection, it was merely a crystal lamp emitting light similar to sunlight. The ceiling projected images of clouds and unknown flying birds.
The ground was made up of stone buildings, primarily circular in shape, adorned with statues constructed from crystal materials. However, there were no roads in the city; instead, there were rivers and fountains flowing everywhere. Each building had water cascading from its top, converging layer by layer into a small lake at the center of the city.
On both sides of the rivers were paved with stone bricks, with numerous small holes left in between because there used to be abundant flowers and trees, but they had now withered and decayed.
All the buildings exuded exquisite charm; they were crafted to perfection. Every structure inside, including murals and statues, was stunningly beautiful and filled with an artistic atmosphere that harmoniously combined nature and art.
"This is where the ruling class of Atlantis resides. The temple is divided into ten parts, and they call themselves the Children of the Gods, taking turns to control this spaceship. Over there is the Control Room!"
The spherical elevator stopped next to the Small Lake, beside which was a circular pavilion with white stone slabs covering the ground. Bai Yujing and Zhu Wei stepped out of the elevator in turn, watching as it immediately ascended and vanished into a black dot.
"Hey! It's gone. How are we supposed to get back?" Bai Yujing immediately asked.
Zhu Wei smiled at Bai Yujing: "What do we need to go back for?"
Bai Yujing was taken aback, feeling that something was off: "What do you mean? Of course, we need to return to the surface! Our exploration work is done; we should search this place thoroughly. If we can find knowledge related to Atlantis technology, that would be even better! After that, we'll take what we've found back to the surface. I'll report my mission, and you can take whatever you want!"
Zhu Wei shook her head: "No! What I want is this entire Spaceship. Why go back? Is the human world really that interesting? It's boring and monotonous. I'm planning to activate this Spaceship and head to Orion, the origin of the Merfolk, traversing the endless starry sky to explore distant unknowns. Look how fascinating that is! Isn't the meaning of life found in this? Haven't you always been exploring the unknown? I think you can understand my thoughts!"
Bai Yujing's expression froze: "But I have many things on Earth; there are many people I can't abandon!"
"That's your concern; I don't have to consider it. Traveling alone is indeed meaningless. Perhaps we could keep each other company; I find you a very interesting person, quite to my liking!"
Bai Yujing watched as Zhu Wei took off her clothes and stepped barefoot into the lake. To her astonishment, she noticed Zhu Wei's feet gradually becoming transparent, as if melting away. Then, as Zhu Wei rolled in the water, a massive elongated fish tail spread from her waist, two meters long and filled with power.
"You wait for me up there; the Control Room is at the bottom. I'm going to activate the spaceship."
Zhu Wei's slender arms performed a flip in the water before she dove into the lake as if something essential awaited her at the bottom!
