Bai Yujing hurriedly rushed over and bent down to look at the bottom. As her face submerged in the water, she opened her eyes and discovered that the bottom was not an ordinary lakebed, but layers of stairs and crystal panels, entirely made of crystal. In the center of the lakebed was a massive Atlantis symbol, surrounded by numerous crystalline structures, resembling bubbles covering the area.
It seemed this was the Control Room, and these structures were the facilities that controlled the entire spaceship. One could imagine that there had once been a large team here, operating the navigation and internal systems of the entire ship through these facilities.
Bright light from the sky illuminated the water, creating ripples of light in the calm blue purity of the water. Bai Yujing glanced at the small river connecting to this lake; it was the passage used by the descendants of Atlantis.
Bai Yujing did not want to depart with this spaceship and sail through the vast cosmos. Who knew how long that process would take? She prepared to dive in to stop Zhu Wei's actions. This was her first time here; although she had inherited the bloodline and special abilities of the Atlantis descendants, activating such a large spaceship would not be an easy task. It certainly wouldn't happen in a short while!
Bai Yujing looked around and immediately took out her diving suit from her backpack, along with an oxygen tank about the size of her arm, which was sufficient for over twenty minutes of use. For very experienced divers, it could last up to forty minutes.
As Bai Yujing changed into her diving suit, she surveyed her surroundings. There were still many buildings beside the lake, featuring various mermaid statues and unique architectural landscapes. However, what attracted Bai Yujing most was a hexagonal prism on a crystal platform.
She remembered this; it was previously located atop the Energy Tower and served as an energy source for this spaceship. Bai Yujing immediately recalled Magnetite from Atlantis legends.
After donning her diving suit, Bai Yujing did not dive in right away but circled around the crystal platform. The hexagonal prism had not been activated; it seemed to be displayed as a souvenir.
Underneath the crystal platform were many inscriptions. This object felt more like a monument, as if this hexagonal prism were a significant souvenir worth commemorating. The front of the crystal platform bore inscriptions in Hydrology and Water Script, though some details were slightly different; perhaps calling it Atlantis Language would be more appropriate. As Bai Yujing touched it, she began translating one by one.
"Great Sage Jing developed Magnetite in Year 121 of the Star Calendar; this major invention rapidly advanced..."
Bai Yujing suddenly understood that this object was indeed Magnetite, and it was the first piece produced by Atlantis Civilization, holding great commemorative significance. The Atlanteans placed this Magnetite here as an important memorial.
When Bai Yujing touched the hexagonal prism above, she immediately saw projections emanating from within a rhombus shape. Several women dressed in simple white robes were conducting experiments; this served as a documentary for future generations to admire.
Bai Yujing took a look and quickly grasped that this depicted the development process of Magnetite. She felt ecstatic inside; this was an incredibly precious item—worth more than anything if presented to a king—a true piece of black technology!
Bai Yujing promptly took this piece of Magnetite from the crystal platform and stuffed it into her backpack while continuing to search her surroundings. She noticed many interesting records around this small area; one pavilion contained inscriptions about Atlantis's origins. It turned out that over ninety percent of the planet where Atlanteans lived was covered by ocean.
Later, after mastering Gene Editing Technology, they endowed themselves with abilities to survive both on water and even in space. Their legs could transform freely like Zhu Wei's fish tail, and they could adjust their genes and organs according to different environments.
However, later generations of Atlantis descendants largely forgot their origins and did not know how to control these abilities; only a few descendants could awaken and use their ability to adapt their bodies automatically to various environments.
It seemed that later on, Atlantis's Orion experienced some kind of natural disaster, prompting its descendants to begin migrating at the last moment, with Earth being their target. However, upon reaching Earth, internal conflicts and strife erupted once again among them.
The record stops here, and Bai Yujing is unclear about what happened next. However, it is certain that only a few remnants of Atlantis remain, with just a couple of small cats left. The only fortunate thing is that the Spaceship has been preserved, which is a legacy of an interstellar civilization.
Next, Bai Yujing discovered an emerald round gem on another crystal platform, which had densely written small characters in Atlantis script.
After looking for a while, Bai Yujing found nothing unusual. However, this was the only small item that could be carried around, so Bai Yujing stuffed it into the backpack, secured the waterproof bag's zipper, put on the respirator and goggles, and then leaped into the water.
Even at the Bottom, the light remained bright. Besides the rays shining down from the sky, there were many buildings at the Bottom, but no entrances could be seen; even the connecting passages were sealed. At this moment, Bai Yujing noticed that there was also a glow in their pocket. When they were above, the light was too bright to notice it clearly; now at the Bottom, it appeared faintly.
Bai Yujing reached into their pocket and immediately pulled out a silver scale. This was a scale left for them by Man. They had carried it with them when they descended into the ice fissure, originally intending to find a place to settle down after entering Atlantis. However, too many surprises along the way made Bai Yujing forget about it.
Unexpectedly, this scale began to show unusual signs at this moment. When Bai Yujing took out the silver scale, they saw silver light seeping out from it as if guiding Bai Yujing forward. Realizing this, Bai Yujing followed the silver light downward.
As they gradually approached the lakebed, Bai Yujing also saw a huge blue emblem—the symbol of Atlantis. It didn’t seem remarkable when viewed from above, but now it appeared as if the entire lakebed was made of crystal, transparent like a massive blue jadeite. Looking down, it seemed possible to see through to the world outside the spaceship.
However, due to the thickness of the bottom and the surrounding darkness of the prehistoric lake outside, seeing the scenery outside the spaceship was quite impossible. Continuing forward, Bai Yujing finally stood atop that enormous Atlantis emblem.
“There’s a control panel ahead that can open the entrance at the bottom of the spaceship!”
Suddenly, Bai Yujing heard Man's voice and was startled: “Man, is that you? How are you talking to me?”
But there was no response. The Bottom had not seen anyone for countless years and had grown plenty of aquatic plants and strange algae. As Bai Yujing entered a building covered by water plants, they were surprised to see that as soon as they approached, the door opened.
Entering inside, the door immediately closed behind them. This was a small compartment where water was quickly drained away. Once Bai Yujing stood on solid ground, the inner door slowly opened.
The lights inside the building quickly turned on. Through a passageway, Bai Yujing entered a spacious area where an entire crystal panel lit up before them, displaying scenes from below!
“Bai, go to the control panel and open the bottom entrance; you can get out!”
Immediately in front of Bai Yujing, there was an upright cylinder reaching their waist level. It felt similar to a computer. With hand gestures controlling it, several options appeared; after confirming with a few taps, they completed the action.
Just as Bai Yujing was about to finish the last step of operation, the crystal panel displayed an image of Zhu Wei. Behind her was an extremely vast Control Room, brightly lit with many screens showing various images—some from inside the spaceship and others from outside: “Bai Yujing, how did you enter the internal system control room? Stop your actions immediately!”
Bai Yujing shook his head and said, "I'm sorry, but I don't want to go on a space trip with you. Maybe I'll consider it in the future, but not now. I still have many things left to do."
Zhu Wei replied calmly, "I hate being rejected by others!"
"Can I ask what your real name is? I've always been curious. Maybe if you tell me, I won't have to open the spaceship!" Bai Yujing paused his hand.
"Zhu Wei!" Zhu Wei frowned but still said it.
After hearing this, Bai Yujing nodded and said, "That's a beautiful name. We've been traveling together for so long, and you could have dealt with me in many ways, yet you haven't. I'm grateful for that, but it's time to say goodbye. I wish you a smooth journey!"
Bai Yujing pressed the final confirmation button, and suddenly he saw a hint of anger on Zhu Wei's face. This was the first time Bai Yujing had seen her show real emotion. Even so, she spoke slowly and elegantly: "Bai Yujing, I really hate being fooled!"
The dialogue between the two was abruptly interrupted as Bai Yujing felt a tremor beneath his feet. In that instant, a circular entrance at the bottom of the spaceship opened rapidly, and the huge blue mark was quickly retracted, revealing a large opening.
However, the water inside did not flow out, nor did the seawater from the prehistoric lake flood into the spaceship; a thin membrane separated the two worlds.
"Hahaha!"
"Lalala!"
Bai Yujing once again heard the song of the mermaids. At that moment, a group of mermaids gathered at the bottom of the spaceship and surged in as soon as the entrance opened. Each had a long fish tail, either blue or black, with beautiful faces and long hair that could rival the most beautiful women in the world.
