Before setting off, Bai Yujing checked the remaining supplies at the base and found that the warehouse had been emptied, with only a box left in the corner. On top of the box was a note written in a very elegant script with a ballpoint pen.
"Left for you, a farewell message. You might not like it, so let's not meet again! — Catherine!"
Catherine had returned first, taking some supplies with her, but thankfully left a portion behind for him. Bai Yujing sorted through the supplies, leaving behind the unimportant items and loading the essentials onto his sled. With that, Bai Yujing set off on his skis, dragging a sled behind him.
Meanwhile, Zhou Jun and Wen Feng were waiting for Bai Yujing a hundred kilometers away. Light snow began to fall in the dark night, and the strong wind made it difficult for Bai Yujing to keep his eyes open. He pushed down his goggles to cover his face and continued forward alone in the vast darkness.
Although it was only a hundred kilometers away, it was hard to discern the right path in the dark. However, Bai Yujing had some memory of the route from his previous journey. As long as he found the correct direction and located the supply point a hundred kilometers away, he should have no major issues.
Two days later, after dragging his sled for twenty hours each day, Bai Yujing finally reached the previous supply point where he found Zhou Jun and the others. Zhou Jun turned on the headlights of the snowmobiles, shining them on Bai Yujing as all three of them laughed and ran towards him.
"White Collar Team!"
Bai Yujing quickened his pace while dragging his sled and immediately embraced Zhou Jun. Li Xiang patted Bai Yujing on the shoulder while Wen Feng limped over slowly.
Seeing the three of them made Bai Yujing laugh inexplicably; he didn't know why he felt so happy. Noticing Wen Feng's condition, he asked with concern, "Wen Feng, is your leg still not healed?"
Wen Feng forced a smile and replied, "It's fine; I've taken some medicine and it's much better now! No problem!"
Zhou Jun asked, "I saw something burst out from your side earlier; it looked terrifying and lit up a large area of the sky. What happened after you followed those Americans?"
Bai Yujing's expression changed slightly, and his smile faltered: "It's complicated; we'll talk about it slowly later."
Li Xiang nodded in agreement: "Alright, let's get in the car and go home!"
Wen Feng also nodded vigorously in agreement: "Yeah, let's hurry back! It's so dark here; I don't want to stay any longer. Zhongshan Station is much better now; even though it's boring there, at least there's heating and a bed. I can't wait to get back!"
Bai Yujing waved his hand: "Let's go, set off for home!"
Sitting in the back, Bai Yujing listened as Wen Feng curiously asked about what happened after he left with Catherine. Slowly, Bai Yujing recounted: "It's unfortunate; Brother Liu was such a good person, and that Yellow Sea... they died too easily!"
Suddenly, Wen Feng interjected: "By the way, who is Zhu Wei?"
Bai Yujing opened his mouth to explain: "Isn't Zhu Wei the geologist who came with our expedition team?"
Sitting in the passenger seat, Zhou Jun turned around and said, "White Collar Team, you're joking again. Our expedition team only has men; where are the women? Are you imagining things? Hahaha!"
"Exactly!"
Suddenly, everyone burst into laughter. Bai Yujing immediately recalled what Zhu Wei had said; she had altered their memories. It seemed this matter was indeed true. Zhu Wei did not want anyone to know she had been here. This mysterious woman had no known background, past, or future destination.
The supplies on the sled that Bai Yujing was dragging also replenished the expedition team's resources, making up for the originally insufficient food. Bai Yujing even brought a barrel of oil, although the fuel was somewhat lacking.
The vehicle moved forward slowly. Bai Yujing, who had serious sleep deprivation and dark circles under her eyes, lay back in the rear seat and closed her eyes. Over the past few days, she had only managed to rest for a couple of hours at the base. However, sleeping in the vehicle was not very safe; in temperatures below minus thirty degrees, falling asleep could mean not waking up again. Although there was no Wind Chill Effect inside the vehicle, the low temperature was very real.
However, Bai Yujing was not too worried. In such harsh conditions, anyone else might have perished by that prehistoric lake, but she managed to push through and emerge. It would not be an exaggeration to say her physique was like iron; even Zhu Wei speculated that Bai Yujing might be some advanced evolutionary individual.
Though she could endure it, the cold made her shiver uncontrollably. Wen Feng handed her a thermos and tucked it inside her clothing. "Hold this; it will make you feel more comfortable. Just lie here for a bit; I'll wake you up in an hour!"
The snowmobiles moved forward slowly, their headlights illuminating the way home. Bai Yujing felt a warmth in her heart as she sat in the vehicle, experiencing an indescribable sense of ease while tightly gripping her backpack. She drifted into dreams.

Qian Jia was in the office reviewing documents when suddenly she set aside the papers and rubbed her forehead. She hadn't received any news regarding the expedition team for quite some time.
Although she knew that sending messages from Antarctica during winter was extremely difficult, Qian Jia felt very anxious and worried.
Thinking of this, Qian Jia immediately made a phone call: "Ouyang, do you have any updates on the situation with the expedition team?"
"Team Leader! There is currently no progress. The expedition team has entered inland Antarctica; it's over minus forty degrees there now, with temperatures dropping below minus seventy degrees. We can only wait for them to return before we can get specific news; you know this!" Ouyang explained over the phone.
Qian Jia sighed, "I know, but I'm just anxious about it. Did you see today's newspaper? A spaceship flew out from inland Antarctica and attracted worldwide attention. I am certain it is related to the expedition team and Atlantis. Thinking about this makes me feel uneasy!"
Ouyang quickly reassured her: "Team Leader, how about I take a trip to Antarctica? However, there haven't been any research vessels going there recently; we might need to think of other ways!"
Qian Jia shook her head: "Forget it; during winter, all coastal areas around Antarctica are frozen solid with severe ice conditions. Ships cannot break through the ice surface to reach Antarctica. We may need to arrange helicopters to get there, but that would limit the supplies we can carry. You wouldn't be able to accomplish much by going over there anyway; I originally planned to go pick them up after receiving news of their return..."
"Knock knock knock!"
At that moment, there was a knock at the door. Qian Jia immediately told Ouyang and hung up the phone: "Come in!"
The door opened, and a middle-aged man in a Zhongshan suit entered. Qian Jia immediately stood up, "What brings you here?"
"Little Qian, no need to be nervous, sit down!" The middle-aged man quickly took the seat of honor under Qian Jia's guidance, while Qian Jia sat down across from the desk. "Director, what brings you here this time?"
"Little Qian, I remember assigning you to handle the 132 incident. I reviewed the detailed information and your application report. You dispatched an expedition team to Antarctica, right? The leader is not even someone from the organization but a fellow named Bai Yujing. Your ideas and actions are quite bold!" The director pointed at Qian Jia as he spoke.
Qian Jia awkwardly smiled, "Director, didn't you approve it? With your support, I was able to take such actions; otherwise..."
The director nodded, "I must say, your actions have been very successful. From the current situation, it seems you really found the right place; this Prehistoric Civilization is indeed in Antarctica. You saw yesterday's news, right?"
Qian Jia nodded, "I saw it. It was that news that made me feel restless; I couldn't understand what exactly happened over in Antarctica. Before you came, I was still thinking about this matter!"
"No need to think anymore; you need to set off immediately and prepare for a trip to Antarctica!" The director issued the command without hesitation.
"Ah!" Qian Jia's mouth dropped open in surprise.
The director continued, "I received news that there is also an American team heading to Antarctica. They seem to have obtained information about the location in Antarctica through some channel. Besides that, yesterday's news has already made many countries restless; Neon, the United Kingdom, and the United States have all secretly taken action. Regardless of whether the expedition team succeeds or fails, you must go to Antarctica. We have already seized the initiative and cannot fall behind others at this time!"
Qian Jia immediately stood up, "Yes! Director, I will set off for Antarctica right now and take action at the earliest opportunity!"
