On the morning of the third day, Bai Yujing and Emma woke up relatively early because Bivis had arranged a boat that would depart from the port of Stavanger to Yangmayen Island. Just before departure, Bai Yujing and Emma began checking their belongings, as they had quite a lot to carry.
Bai Yujing immediately said, "Emma, we will be taking a plane later, and we might have to rush quite a bit. If there are things that are not particularly necessary and are too heavy, we should leave them behind."
Emma was reluctant and replied, "What should we do then? Many of these things are items you wanted to bring through Ian's checkpoint. I feel like they are all useful, but I don't know how to choose."
Bai Yujing had no choice but to suggest, "How about this? You can set aside some less important items into one bag, and I will help you carry it."
Once they had everything organized, Bai Yujing took advantage of Emma's distraction and tossed a few items into his territory space. Inside his territory were also several guns and bullets he had brought from his home warehouse, which was a precautionary measure by Bai Yujing.
However, since using this ability was quite shocking and difficult to explain, Bai Yujing generally avoided using it casually. While checking his belongings, Bai Yujing opened his box and looked at Merlin's Staff and two gold plates. When he glanced at the gold plates, he noticed something seemed off.
Bai Yujing's vision was much sharper than that of an average person, so holding the familiar gold plate felt strange; it didn't seem as refined as before. He examined it closely when Emma came out of the room carrying a large bag, dragging a suitcase along with a big travel bag.
Emma immediately looked at Bai Yujing and asked, "What's wrong?"
Bai Yujing frowned and said, "This item feels a bit off, but I can't pinpoint what's wrong. It doesn't seem as exquisite as it used to."
Emma quickly responded, "Really? Let me take a look."
After inspecting it for a moment, Emma said to Bai Yujing, "No, it feels the same as before. The material and texture are no different."
Bai Yujing nodded, "Maybe I'm just overthinking it!"
Emma promptly pushed open the door and said, "Let's go, Ian! We need to hurry; Bivis is still waiting for us at the dock. We've already delayed for too long!"
Bai Yujing rolled his eyes and replied, "Isn't it because you were dawdling?"
Emma raised her eyebrows and wrinkled her nose in response, "What did you say?"
Bai Yujing immediately changed the subject and said, "Nothing was said, nothing was said. Let's hurry, if Bivis can't wait any longer and leaves with the boat, we won't be able to find another one to Yangmayen Island."
When Bai Yujing arrived at the dock, he saw a bustling scene with numerous boats moored nearby. As he passed by, he also spotted a very large fish market, where brand new boats painted white were departing from the dock, their engines roaring as they set off into the depths of the ocean.
A multitude of seabirds circled and soared near the dock, emitting crisp calls amidst the shouts of people coming and going, the sounds of machinery starting up, and the clamor of cranes in constant motion.
Here, Bai Yujing saw Shen Fei again. From a distance, Shen Fei waved and ran over, saying, "Mr. Bai, Miss Emma, over here! Mr. Bivis is waiting for you inside!"
Bai Yujing quickly walked over with Emma while Shen Fei enthusiastically took their bags and luggage, leading them forward. It was then that Bai Yujing noticed a massive boat docked nearby. It was a fishing vessel, but quite large—likely a medium-sized fishing boat capable of deep-sea fishing, though larger than typical medium-sized fishing boats.
The upper part was generally white while the lower part was painted blue. Emma immediately exclaimed, "Oh, it's so beautiful!"
"Ha ha! Mr. Bai, Emma, have you arrived? Hurry up and come aboard; we're about to set off!" Bivis called from the top of the Stairs, waving at Bai Yujing. Under Shen Fei's guidance, the three of them quickly made their way up.
At that moment, a person who looked like the captain waved his hand, directing the sailors on board: "Prepare to set sail; everyone get ready!"
Bivis led the two into the cabin. "You two will be on the boat for about two days, so you'll need to rest in between. This is your room; take a look!"
Bai Yujing glanced around; it was a cramped little room with only one bed and two round windows through which they could see the vast ocean outside!
"I like this room; although it's a bit small, it has a private bathroom. Is this the captain's room? I feel a bit embarrassed!" Bai Yujing asked.
Bivis nodded: "It's us who should feel embarrassed. Yangmayen Island is a small island with a permanent population of less than fifty people, so there isn't a larger airport; we can only take a boat there. I apologize for any inconvenience. As for the captain, he's very willing; we paid him enough for a year's worth of fishing earnings. You know how tough life is for fishermen these days. Since we paid him, we should enjoy corresponding treatment!"
At this point, Bai Yujing asked, "By the way, Bivis, I want to ask if we have permission for our activities on Yangmayen Island. Will there be any issues with the Norway government?"
Bivis nodded: "To be precise, we haven't received full authorization. We only obtained permission under the pretext of deep-sea fishing operations and by bribing some people on Yangmayen Island. But that's sufficient; don't worry, Mr. Bai, no one will cause us trouble!"
Bai Yujing nodded: "That's good to hear. By the way, which room are you staying in? If I have some free time, I might want to chat with you. We'll be collaborating for some time ahead; it's necessary for both sides to understand each other better. Plus, I have many questions that I need Bivis to clarify for me!"
"I live in the second room to your right, and I would be happy for Mr. Bai to come chat with me!" Bivis said politely.
At this moment, the ship had already started moving. Bai Yujing felt the ground beneath his feet begin to shift, and the scenery outside the round window began to change.
After putting down his things, Bai Yujing turned to Emma and said, "So, are you interested in going up on deck to take a look and get some fresh air? By the way, Emma, you don't get seasick, do you?"
Bai Yujing suddenly recalled the scene from before when he was on a research vessel in Antarctica. Most of those guys hadn't gotten out of bed for days. However, the sea conditions in Antarctica were quite harsh, with huge waves making the ship feel like a bumper car. This situation was different.
Bai Yujing also found it somewhat incredible that just two or three months ago he was in Antarctica, and now he had quickly traveled to the waters near Norway, running from north to south and then back from south to north. Looking back, it was quite shocking.
"Hey, what are you daydreaming about?" Emma said somewhat displeased.
Bai Yujing immediately snapped back to reality: "Ah, what happened? I suddenly remembered my time on the ship in Antarctica. Sorry about that!"
Emma pouted and then slowly said, "I grew up by the sea; how could I possibly get seasick?"
Bai Yujing laughed: "Then let's go up on deck and enjoy the beauty of the ocean. How about we recreate a scene from Titanic?"
"No way! It sounds like we're going to sink!"
"......"
