It is truly a delightful thing to meet Will Hackman again. It has been nearly a year since we last saw each other, and Bai Yujing has undergone tremendous changes.
After exchanging hugs with Will Hackman, the old man gave Bai Yujing a bear hug and playfully patted him on the back twice. "Not bad! You look like you’ve been exercising regularly; your physique is fantastic! You've changed quite a bit, looking even more handsome!"
Bai Yujing smiled and replied, "Really? But I'm still not as handsome as Mr. Hackman. You should have seen everyone at the dock cheering for you when you flew in from the sky!"
"Of course! When I'm on the plane, I am definitely the most handsome man in the world. In my youth, I was quite the heartthrob!" Will Hackman laughed heartily, his booming voice echoing throughout the airport.
"My beautiful lady, you seem to have gotten even prettier in just a few days!" Will Hackman gave Emma a hug.
Emma smiled and said, "I knew it was you, Mr. Hackman, when I saw the plane flying by!"
"Oh really? Just now, some young fellow seemed to doubt my abilities and didn't believe it was me!" The old man teased Bai Yujing.
Feeling a bit awkward, Bai Yujing didn't know how to respond at that moment. Fortunately, Bivis arrived just in time to save him from the situation.
Having just sent off a dizzy and nauseous co-pilot, Bivis checked on the personnel stationed there. He then looked at Will Hackman in surprise, nodded, and walked over.
"Mr. Hackman, I just learned that you were once a reconnaissance pilot for the Royal Air Force. Here, I am very honored to invite you to join our team. I wonder if Mr. Hackman..." Bivis's attitude had completely changed, as he seemed to have learned about Will Hackman's recent situation and past experiences.
Will Hackman shook hands with Bivis: "I would be more than happy to!"
After catching up with Will Hackman, everyone headed towards a simple structure made of aluminum panels that had been set up nearby. As they walked, Bivis explained, "Since we brought quite a few people this time and the entire population of Yangmayen Island is only about fifty, we don't have enough housing. We had to set up some temporary accommodations here! However, there are many rooms on the Fairy ship, and our temporary dining area is up there. If you’re willing, there are plenty of rooms available."
Bai Yujing immediately replied, "That's alright; I prefer a more down-to-earth feeling. A little simplicity is fine; Emma and I don’t mind!"
Will Hackman pointed to a nearby house that looked like a container and said, "I live right next door. If anything happens, feel free to come find me!"
Bai Yujing put down her things and couldn't sit still for a moment. She turned to Bivis and said, "Mr. Bivis, I heard you mention that there is a small Meteorological Station here, right? May I go observe it?"
"Of course, do Miss Emma and Mr. Hackman want to join us?" Bivis looked at the two behind him.
Emma nodded affirmatively, "Of course, we both need to understand what kind of situations we might encounter later!"
Mr. Hackman added, "The recent weather changes have been significant. It seems that this year's wind season has arrived earlier than usual. I wonder if it's due to climate change. If this continues and worsens, it might lead to situations where planes cannot take off!"
At this time, the temperature on Yangmayen Island was between 1 and 5 degrees Celsius, so the weather was still somewhat cold. However, for Yangmayen Island, this temperature was already considered summer. Bai Yujing could see that the highest peak on Yangmayen Island was still covered with thin layers of white snow.
The arrival of summer and the effects of global warming had caused the wind season to come early, creating significant trouble for Bai Yujing and their upcoming actions.
Bai Yujing and the others walked into a shed with a purple roof. Bai Yujing noticed that there were antennas on top of the shed, and not far away, there was a connected signal tower. Before they even entered, they heard a loud voice from inside.
"Is anyone there? This place is not open for casual visits! It's private property!" A young Black man pushed open the door and shouted outside but immediately saw Bivis, causing his expression to change.
"Oh, it's Mr. Bivis! You're back! Come in!" The young man greeted Bivis warmly while scrutinizing Bai Yujing and the others with a curious gaze.
Bai Yujing was also observing the interior. It was somewhat messy inside; however, on a nearby table, there were many monitors. On the wall hung a large 6x6 display screen that was currently showing a series of dark images in shades of white and gray, forming irregular shapes.
Bivis immediately introduced everyone: "This is Jamie, our meteorological expert!"
Jamie immediately noticed everyone's interest in the content displayed on the monitor on the wall. He stepped forward and walked under the monitor, where he saw thirty-six screens pieced together, creating a truly stunning sight.
"This is the weather map and meteorological changes we observed from the satellite. When Bivis found me, he provided me with some data. Based on that data, I divided the area I needed to explore into thirty-six regions, with further subdivisions that I won't elaborate on. What you see here is the meteorological change map observed from the satellite!" Jamie explained as he spoke to everyone.
Emma nodded, "I know, that data was prepared by me!"
Jamie replied somewhat rudely, "I'm sorry, although it's not polite to say this, the data you provided was indeed not very professional and caused me a lot of trouble!"
Emma smiled and said, "I really don't know much about this area; I just found some information and weather maps from books and tried to figure it out myself!"
Bai Yujing immediately asked, "So you're saying that if a Cloud Hole appears over the sea surface, we will detect it here?"
Jamie shook his head, "Not necessarily. You have to understand that the meteorological changes monitored by satellites are based on calculations, and Clouds can obstruct satellite observations. If a special phenomenon like a Cloud Hole forms, there will definitely be a large amount of mid-to-high level clouds present. The Clouds will be very thick. This kind of special weather formation usually occurs due to external influences; it's quite fascinating."
"I'm not quite clear on how you can be sure that this miraculous phenomenon will definitely appear at this time and place purely by chance. However, if there are Clouds in this area that might form a Cloud Hole, I will immediately observe it!"
Bai Yujing nodded, "That's enough!"
Then Bai Yujing looked at Bivis: "Next is the exploration by ship. This area is very large; we may need enough ships for the exploration!"
Bivis nodded, "We have five fishing boats capable of deep-sea fishing operations, plus the Fairy ship; there shouldn't be any problems!"
