The Fairy Ship, measuring over one hundred thirty meters in length, is truly difficult to associate with a private yacht. In Bai Yujing's eyes, it is no different from a cruise ship. This is not the first time Bai Yujing has boarded this vessel; the staff hired by Yangmayen Island and McLeod Medical Group are usually dining on board.
Above the yacht's deck, there are three levels in total. The deck features an outdoor swimming pool, a large cafeteria, entertainment rooms, a cinema, a gym, a theater, and a series of other facilities. There is also enough space on the deck to accommodate four helicopters.
The crew alone numbers nearly forty people, and the internal facilities are simply luxurious to the extreme. However, the yacht's owner, Burton MacLeod, can only lie on a hospital bed, barely clinging to life. Indeed, when it comes to life and health, these luxuries cannot compare.
They set off in the evening and have been sailing for five hours now; it is deep into the night. Bai Yujing lies on a folding chair on the deck, gazing at the starry sky while holding Merlin's hand.
Emma approaches with a glass of juice and wraps her arms around Bai Yujing's neck. "Ian, what are you thinking about?"
Bai Yujing glances at Emma. "I'm thinking about what the key to entering Sky Island is! If the destination we are heading to now is indeed the true entrance, then it would have been absolutely impossible for Lemuel Gulliver and his crew aboard the most primitive and ancient airship to enter!"
Emma tilts her head. "Maybe that's true, but I remember Gulliver's notes mentioned that they arrived at Sky Island after going through a violent storm. Also, Ian, don't forget that out of the entire fleet, only Lemuel Gulliver returned alive. This journey might be far more dangerous than we imagine!"
Bai Yujing shakes his head. "No, I believe there is still something crucial!"
At this point, Bai Yujing looks around and tells Emma: "Do you remember what was recorded in the notes? The guidance of the Children of the Gods led us to find the location of Cloud Hole?"
Emma nods. "Are you saying there is deeper meaning in that statement?"
Bai Yujing nods. "I once asked Bivis; he told me that after coming to the human world, the lake spirit guarding the fountain of life had two children—one was Annie, and the other was Merlin!"
"Are you saying that Children of the Gods refers to Merlin?" Emma immediately realizes.
Bai Yujing nods. "Exactly! And I think that the guidance of Children of the Gods likely refers to Merlin's Staff. I'm wondering if there is some secret within this staff!"
"Emma, your father once said that this staff resembles a branch from the legendary Holy Oak. However, Holy Oak is just a legend on Earth; no one has ever truly seen it. So I am certain that the key to entering Sky Island should be found within this staff!"
At this point, Bai Yujing still feels somewhat frustrated. "But I'm still unclear about how this staff should be used. Mr. Gulliver really has a twisted sense of humor; he left me with nothing but riddles without any clear explanations!"
Emma shrugged, "Perhaps when they were searching for Sky Island, they also faced many hardships and endured various pains, so they don't want us later generations to enjoy everything without effort!"
"That's definitely the case!" Bai Yujing speculated about these ancient people with the utmost malice.
"It's getting late; let's go back and rest!" Bai Yujing smiled at Emma. Emma's charming smile made Bai Yujing feel a stir in his heart. As they walked back to their room, Bai Yujing said to Emma, "Emma, wait for me a moment; I need to discuss something with Mr. Hackman!"
Emma immediately became displeased and pouted, saying, "Mr. Hackman is already resting at this hour!"
Bai Yujing quickly reassured her, "I've already arranged it with Mr. Hackman; it won't take long. I just need to talk to him about something and I'll be back!"
Pushing open Mr. Hackman's door, he saw Huckman sitting in a chair, looking at a diary. Upon closer inspection, Bai Yujing realized it was the very diary he had accidentally purchased in Edinburgh, which contained Mr. Hackman's childhood memories.
"Ah! As one gets older, one tends to reminisce about childhood!" Will Hackman closed the diary and set it aside.
A small door on the side of a wooden box opened, revealing two little figures: one in a dress and the other in overalls—Alice and Kaka!
"Hello, Mr. Bai Yujing!” Emma greeted Bai Yujing with a slow bow, while Kaka nodded seriously at him.
Days earlier, Bai Yujing and Emma had met the two of them in Will Hackman's room. After such a long separation, it was truly nostalgic to see these two little ones again. Especially Emma, who pulled Bai Yujing to chat with them for several hours in Will Hackman's room.
Since Bai Yujing and the others left Skye Island, Alice and Kaka, the little couple, had moved into Will Hackman's home. This past year had been very peaceful and comforting for them, and Will Hackman was quite fond of these two little ones.
Despite the language barrier due to the Lilliputian Language, which left both parties unable to communicate verbally, Bai Yujing was amazed that they had invented a form of body language to communicate with each other. They even performed it for him, which he found very interesting. The harmonious coexistence between different races and types of intelligent beings unconsciously gave Bai Yujing a sense of natural beauty that felt very comforting.
Unfortunately, only Kaka and Alice had come this time; the other two families of Leprechaun living in seclusion on Skye Island did not trust humans and were unwilling to leave their homes where they had lived for two or three hundred years.
"Kaka, Alice, hello! We are really going to your true homeland, Lilliput, this time. According to the speed of this ship, we will reach the entrance to Sky Island the day after tomorrow; you should finally be able to go home!" Bai Yujing smiled as he looked at the two little figures standing on the table.
Alice clasped her hands in front of her chest and said, "Really? So, we can reach Lilliput soon and see a kingdom full of Leprechauns?"
Bai Yujing thought for a moment and nodded, "That should be the case, but I estimate there will be many troubles and difficulties along the way. However, I believe we will overcome them one by one. In the meantime, you all need to hide and not let the others on the ship discover you!"
Kaka stepped forward and said, "Well, Alice and I will do our best to cooperate with you, and thank you for everything you've done for us!"
After finishing the conversation with the two Little People, Bai Yujing turned to Will Hackman: "Mr. Hackman, have you been paying attention to those matters I mentioned to you in the past few days?"
"Of course, I'm a scout by trade; this is nothing. Bivis hasn't done anything unusual lately. Every night at six o'clock, he calls Burton Hackman to report on the day's situation! That botanist Hank, I know him; he has a certain reputation in the UK. He's a professor in the Animal Department at Oxford University. I've seen him on TV as a guest on wildlife programs multiple times!"
"The three of them often gather together for secret meetings. I'm not sure what they discuss specifically, but they are always very cautious. I feel that they definitely have ulterior motives!" Hackman shared some of his observations from the past few days.
Bai Yujing immediately thought of another person: "What about Shen Fei?"
Mr. Hackman looked at Bai Yujing: "That person is very suspicious!"
"Why?" Bai Yujing asked.
Mr. Hackman continued, "His beard is fake; it's deliberately glued on to create an illusion of age. You might not notice, but he has two missing molars in his upper jaw, which makes his cheeks look particularly gaunt. This is a simple way to alter one's appearance. But why would he do that? Unless one of us knows him!"
"What?"
