The giant dragon clung tightly to Bai Yujing and the others, while Bai Yujing and Bivis fired continuously, causing the dragon to howl in agony. Its white scales were stained with blood, but for the dragon, this was merely superficial. At first, their attacks could hinder the dragon's movements, but soon it became enraged and relentlessly pursued the ship, ignoring all attempts to stop it.
The dragon harbored a deep hatred for Bai Yujing and the others; the anger and loathing in its eyes could be felt even from a hundred meters away. Whenever the dragon approached within that distance, Bai Yujing would fire his shotgun, its immense power enough to give the beast a taste of danger.
At a critical moment, the sky suddenly cleared. Bai Yujing felt as if the world had brightened instantly; dazzling light flooded the deck, momentarily blinding him and Bivis.
Looking out, they saw their ship slowly pulling away from Clouds. It was now daytime, and the warm morning sunlight bathed them, but Bai Yujing and Bivis had no time to relax. As they burst out of Cloud Sea, a seven-headed White Giant Dragon followed closely behind.
“Fuck, that monster is chasing us again!” Bivis shouted as he fired repeatedly, his arms and shoulders numb and sore. The dragon remained vigorous, ready to charge at any moment and tear apart both Bai Yujing and their ship.
The dragon was faster than Bai Yujing and his companions, especially outside of Clouds where there were no obstructions or visibility issues. The White Giant Dragon surged straight toward them.
“Here, take my shotgun and give me your assault rifle!” Bai Yujing tossed his gun to Bivis, and they quickly exchanged weapons.
Bai Yujing sensed they were at a life-or-death moment. He raised his gun, feeling his dynamic vision kick in once more. His eyes locked onto the White Giant Dragon as its head appeared to grow larger in his sight until it seemed almost within reach.
“Just because I’m not roaring doesn’t mean I’m a sick cat!”
With a furious shout, Bai Yujing fired; flames erupted from the dark muzzle of his gun as he shot toward the dragon. The bullet spiraled into the left eye of the third head on the right side of the dragon's body. Instantly, a mournful roar echoed through the air—sharp and piercing.
Bai Yujing quickly aimed at another head and fired again. This time he hit once more, causing chaos among the seven heads of the dragon in mid-air. The intense pain and sudden loss of vision sent the White Giant Dragon's brain into a state of shock; it could no longer focus on pursuing Bai Yujing and his companions.
“Zizizi, zizizi!”
“Bai, are you there? I have new findings!”
At this moment, the walkie-talkie in Bai Yujing's pocket rang again. Holding a gun in one hand, Bai Yujing pulled out the walkie-talkie with the other and said, "Hello, what's going on?"
On the other end of the line, Will Hackman's voice came through: "Bai, look ahead, we've arrived at the next stop!"
Bai Yujing immediately turned to look back and saw an island appearing directly in front of the boat. Compared to Brobdingnag, this could only be considered an island. While Brobdingnag might not seem large to giants, it was truly vast for Bai Yujing and the others. Bai Yujing could see the entire outline of the island at a glance and estimated that it should be much larger than Skye Island, although it probably wasn't too much larger.
"Is this Lilliput?" Bai Yujing asked into the walkie-talkie.
Will Hackman laughed heartily: "Not sure yet, but I feel like it must be. After all, our route hasn't deviated at all; logically speaking, it should be here. By the way, how's the situation behind you?"
Bai Yujing's tone was calm, but he felt a bit smug as he replied, "What do you think? Of course..."
"Moo!"
The sound of the dragon roared again. Bai Yujing immediately put down the walkie-talkie and looked toward where the dragon had been repelled earlier. He saw that the dragon had caught up once more. This time was different; Bai Yujing felt that the dragon was much faster than before. Its massive wings flapped rapidly, propelling it forward by a couple hundred meters in just a few seconds, significantly closing the distance between it and Bai Yujing's group.
"Not good, it's chasing us again," Bivis said with a pale face as he glanced at Bai Yujing. Now he was the only one who could come up with a solution.
Bai Yujing immediately raised his gun and aimed at the dragon, intending to use his previous method again. However, this time—whether due to having tasted blood or because the dragon was thoroughly enraged—it became much more agile. Previously, its enormous size made it seem like a live target for Bai Yujing and his companions; now, upon hearing gunfire, the dragon quickly reacted to protect its vital head.
Bai Yujing fired twice in quick succession but only hit once despite activating dynamic vision. He then shot at the dragon again; this time both shots struck its neck scales, blood splattering everywhere and creating a blurry scene. However, it wasn't what Bai Yujing wanted—it missed its target.
Bivis's expression changed: "What do we do? It's about to catch up with us!"
"Bai Yujing" said to "Bivis," "Hurry back to my room and take down "Merlin's Staff" from the wall. We're not far from the next "Sky Island." I'll find a way to hold it off for a bit; as long as we get inside the barrier of "Sky Island," it won't be able to do anything to us!"
"Bivis" changed his expression, "Hold it off? How? It's completely gone mad. Even if it's injured, it will only increase its rage. We can't hold it off at all!"
"Bai Yujing" smiled, "It's okay, I have a key treasure that will help deal with it!"
"Bai Yujing" took out an item, and "Bivis" changed his expression again upon seeing it. "A Grenade? Why didn't you bring this out earlier to take down that damned monster!"
"Bai Yujing" shook his head, "It's not a Grenade; it's a Sonic Bomb. But at a critical moment, it will definitely help hold this guy off for a bit. Hurry over; we're not far from "Sky Island." Just make sure not to crash directly into it!"
"Bivis" patted "Bai Yujing" on the shoulder and rushed into the cabin. At that moment, the propeller was spinning at full speed, buzzing loudly in the air. In the boiler room, "Shen Fei" was sweating profusely and looking exhausted, but fortunately, he had "Hank" by his side.
After Emma threw all the ballast bags overboard, she prepared to come out of the cabin to find "Bai Yujing," just in time to run into "Bivis." "Mr. Bivis, where's Ian?"
"He’s still behind. I can’t say much; we’re about to enter the next 'Sky Island.' I need to get 'Merlin's Staff!'"
"Bai Yujing" kept firing his gun, occasionally hitting the giant dragon's eyes and head with bullets. At this moment, among the seven heads of the dragon, only the middle one and the far right one remained intact; the others were barely hanging on, and even their roars at "Bai Yujing" had become weak.
The ship gradually approached the barrier of "Sky Island." This island was similar to the previous one, with a light blue transparent barrier enveloping it like an eggshell.
"Bivis" stood at the bow of the deck, roaring as he raised his staff. He saw brilliant light radiating as lightning surged from the barrier, and a massive circular passage slowly appeared. However, at that moment, the dragon had also caught up, now only twenty or thirty meters away from the ship—just a blink away from pouncing and tearing apart both the ship and everyone on it.
