"Moo!"
At this moment, the giant dragon was already within reach, and Bai Yujing could even feel the joy emanating from its eyes. It was imagining the sensation of swallowing each of them one by one like candy beans. No, it couldn't let these guys die so easily.
The injured giant dragon moved all seven of its heads simultaneously, lunging toward Bai Yujing to bite down. Seven heads, each as large as a house, came crashing down, ready to crush Bai Yujing along with the ship.
At this moment, Bai Yujing sprang into action, throwing a grenade into the air, right in the center of the dragon's seven heads. Bai Yujing turned around and prepared to drop to the ground but noticed that Emma had rushed out from the cabin.
Bai Yujing didn't have time to react or speak; he tackled Emma to the ground, covering her ears tightly. A deafening sound erupted along with a burst of light and thick smoke in the air, a noise far more grating than nails on a chalkboard. Bai Yujing suddenly felt as if a magical sound had invaded his mind, leaving his brain somewhat dazed, filled only with a piercing ringing that echoed for a long time, as if his eardrums were being beaten like drums.
The dragon was similarly affected; its enhanced hearing made it suffer even more damage. The seven heads seemed to go into a frenzy, fighting among themselves and getting entangled. Taking advantage of this opportunity, the ship had already passed through the passage and entered the interior of Sky Island's barrier.
"Moo..."
Watching as Bai Yujing and the others gradually sailed away, the recovering dragon went mad. Despite suffering such severe injuries, it had been unable to inflict even a scratch on its opponents. It felt as if it had been toyed with throughout the encounter, which was completely unacceptable for its proud nature.
The dragon began to violently slam against the outer barrier of the island, its hatred and anger completely blinding its eyes and mind. However, at the moment of impact against the barrier, sparks flew as strong electrical currents surged through its body from the point of collision, causing large bursts of fire to erupt across its form.
Screams and crashing sounds echoed continuously as the air filled with the scent of roasted meat. The stunned dragon could only drag its battered body away slowly from this place.
"Hey, Ian, how are you? Are you okay?" Emma held Bai Yujing's head and noticed that no matter how much she shouted, Bai Yujing showed no reaction. She instantly became anxious; she knew that in that moment when the Sonic Bomb exploded, Bai Yujing had saved her.
Emma cupped Bai Yujing's face and called out his name but found that he was merely looking around as if he couldn't hear anything. Seeing Emma's mouth moving continuously, Bai Yujing finally asked, "What? What are you saying? I can't hear you clearly!"
Bai Yujing realized he couldn't even hear his own voice anymore, which made him panic. Could it be that he had been deafened by the Sonic Bomb he threw?
Bai Yujing sat up, rubbing his face. After sitting tightly for a while, he calmed down and felt the roaring sound in his ears gradually subside, and his mind slowly returned to clarity.
"Ah! Ah!" Bai Yujing shouted twice, realizing he could hear clearly. He then looked at Emma and said, "Emma, try calling my name!"
Emma immediately leaned close to Bai Yujing and shouted loudly, startling him. "Hey, I asked you to call my name, why did you scare me like that!"
Emma's eyes were red as she wiped her tears. "You silly guy, I thought you were deaf from the shock!"
Bai Yujing laughed heartily and hugged Emma. "What's wrong? If I became deaf, would you not want me anymore?"
"Of course not! Even if you became lame, I would still want you!" Emma pouted in Bai Yujing's arms, wiping her snot and tears all over him.
"Alright, alright, let's gather with the others and see if anything happened along the way. We're about to reach the next Sky Island. We might need to rest and prepare here before heading to our next stop, which is our final destination—the Island of Life!" Bivis ran over, having just been worried about what might have happened to Bai Yujing. Upon arriving, he found the two of them being affectionate with each other, leaving him somewhat speechless.
Bai followed Bai Yujing inside and noticed everyone was already seated in the restaurant, chatting and laughing. Especially Will Hackman, who was holding a bottle of liquor and sharing it with everyone present.
"You guys! Didn't we agree that half of the brandy was mine? How could you start without me?" Bai Yujing exclaimed while holding his head, immediately starting to scold those present.
Will Hackman burped. "We just survived such a dangerous situation; of course we need a little something to lighten the mood. Come on, Ian, want a drink?"
"Of course! Hey, don’t pour too much; there’s only one glass left!"
Everyone sat at the table while the ship slowly moved toward Sky Island. It was expected to reach Sky Island in less than ten minutes. Bai Yujing took a sip of brandy; the fiery taste rushed down his throat, instantly invigorating him.
"We're about to enter Sky Island. What should we do next?" Bai Yujing, as the team leader, was the first to speak when it came to serious matters.
Shen Fei immediately replied, "Didn't we plan everything beforehand? Let's take a break and then continue forward!"
Bai Yujing nodded and looked at Huckman: "How about it? Mr. Hackman, do we have enough supplies?"
Huckman thought for a moment: "We have plenty of coal prepared, but we're short on food, and we need to replenish our water supply significantly. The consumption of water these past few days has far exceeded our expectations, and we've run out of many items. The food is too monotonous, and we lack many daily necessities. If we can get some supplies here, I think the remaining journey will be much more comfortable!"
Bai Yujing agreed with Huckman: "Then after landing on the island, let's not act rashly. We should first investigate the situation on the island before deciding on our next course of action!"
Bivis said, "This island doesn't look big; it's only a few dozen kilometers long and wide. It shouldn't take us more than a few days to explore it completely. There shouldn't be any oversized creatures here, and according to the notes, this should be Lilliput. We would be considered giants here, so we don't need to be that cautious!"
Hank expressed a differing opinion: "Not necessarily. The creatures here could be completely different from those on Earth. We can't predict what strange monsters might appear. We've seen too many odd phenomena along the way; it's better to be cautious!"
After discussing, Bai Yujing addressed everyone: "So after we land, Shen Fei will use a Drone to survey the surrounding area first to confirm if this is indeed Lilliput. Once we gather enough information, we'll start collecting supplies!"
The ship slowly approached Sky Island. As the bottom of the ship landed and scraped against the ground, everyone on board felt the vessel shake slightly. Amidst a rumbling sound, the ship finally docked on Sky Island.
Once Bai Yujing secured the ship, he noticed that they were surrounded by a small Mountain Valley. The valley was covered in something resembling green moss, and ahead was a passage leading into a Gorge. However, both sides were no more than seven or eight meters high and about ten meters wide; it felt more like a pit!
Hank bent down and touched the ground, exclaiming in surprise: "This isn't moss; it's grass! How did this grass grow so small?"
