Speaker was an elderly man, leaning on a cane as he stood in the conference room, flanked by two individuals who were organizing materials and placing them on a round table in the center of the room, with a copy for each seat.
“Speaker sir, these are the individuals I mentioned before, found by Lily's descendants, and among them are candidates with divine qualities!” Before Loran could speak, Speaker had already fixed his gaze on Bai Yujing.
The elderly lady nodded: “Indeed, there is a divine aura. Young man, do you have any extraordinary traits?”
This question was too direct, leaving Bai Yujing unsure of how to respond. The old lady burst into laughter: “You humans are always like this, preferring to keep things to yourselves and not being straightforward. Even Merlin has picked up your bad habits!”
“Please wait a moment; other members of our kin will be arriving shortly. We need to communicate among ourselves before the council convenes the day after tomorrow. After all, this concerns the entire Fairy Clan, and to enter the Source of Life, we must have the consent of all our kin!”
At this point, Bai Yujing also noticed several other Lake Fairies. Although they looked different, they were all black-haired women with pointed ears. Unlike other Fairy Clans, this group seemed to lack males. According to Ella, they were beings born directly from the Fountain of Life, distinct from other Fairy Clans.
The communication among the Lake Fairies was swift; once they arrived, their opinions quickly aligned. They simply skimmed through the materials on the table and nodded in agreement. Bai Yujing glanced at the documents, which outlined the proceedings for the upcoming meeting.
As everyone was leaving, Bivis suddenly turned back from the aisle for some unknown reason: “I think I dropped something over there. You all go ahead; I’ll be back in a moment!”
Bai Yujing gave Bivis a deep look, suspecting that he was up to something mischievous again.
“Hello, Mr. Bivis!” When Bivis returned, he found Speaker still waiting with his cane, as if he had anticipated this.
Bivis stepped forward and said: “Speaker sir, I have something important to discuss with you regarding the Fairy Clan!”
“Go ahead!” The smile on Speaker’s face remained warm and inviting.
“What I want to say is that all the Golden Discs are in our possession; only we can help the Fairy Clan reactivate the Fountain of Life. However, we have some conditions!” Bivis felt nervous; after all, he could sense some of the abilities of the Lake Fairies, which felt almost godlike to an ordinary person like him.
Speaker nodded: “A reasonable request!”
Bivis was overjoyed and immediately stated: “We need a portion of the Fountain of Life. Additionally, you must guarantee our safe return to the human world!”
Speaker smiled and nodded again: “A perfectly reasonable request; however, I’m afraid I cannot agree to it!”
“Why not? Don’t you want to activate the Fountain of Life? To save all of Fairy Island and the Fairy Clan!”
Bivis felt that things were beyond his expectations; it was impossible for them not to agree to such a ‘simple’ request. Could it be that they intended to exploit him?
“Speaker sir, you cannot do this! The Fairy Clan stands for peace and…”
"You are mistaken, Mr. Bivis. Although you have the Golden Disc, it is not the key for us. The key is who can activate the Fountain of Life. The ancestor of the McLeod Family, Lily, left here with the Golden Disc. If having the Golden Disc were enough to activate the Fountain of Life, why would Lily leave the Island of Life? She was the Lake Fairy guarding the Fountain of Life!" the Speaker said to Bivis.
"But didn't Lily steal the Golden Disc and escape from Fairy Island?"
"I think you are confused. Lily left Fairy Island with the mission to save the Fountain of Life. Among you, there is someone who can activate the Fountain of Life, but unfortunately, it is not you!"
"Is it Bai? Right? It's him!"
"I should have realized that you all were paying so much attention to him; so that's how it is!"
Bivis left the Council Hall in a daze. Loran arranged a hotel for Bai Yujing and his group, conveniently located not far from the Council Hall, making it easy for them to be found if needed. Bai Yujing and others wandered around Fairy City, as it was rare to visit such a fantastical world; they felt they had to buy something to justify their visit.
Hank and Shen Fei were still waiting at the entrance of the Council Hall for Bivis. Seeing their sneaky demeanor, they couldn't figure out what was going on. Bai Yujing decided to take Emma and Huckman to check out the market.
"Look, look!" Emma immediately spotted a shop selling flying brooms.
Bai Yujing and Huckman rushed over: "Wow, do they really sell these?"
The three pressed against the glass window, eagerly looking at the brooms inside. Such flying props made anyone feel envious: "Mota's Broomstick Cottage!"
"Do you think they have a Firebolt 2000 in there?" Will Hackman surprisingly knew about this, showcasing Harry Potter's influence in England.
"Maybe they have Fire Crossbow Bolts too!"
Bai Yujing patted their shoulders: "But you two, we don't have any currency from this world; we can only look!"
"Then why did you bring us out shopping?" Emma glared at him; being able to look but not buy was pure torture.
Bai Yujing helplessly shrugged his shoulders and suddenly remembered something—there seemed to be an option in his store for exchanging wealth. He wondered if he could use it here. Bai Yujing selected currency exchange and used ten points to exchange for one hundred silver coins.
After waiting for a while without any response, he thought, "Based on past experiences with the system, it definitely won't give Bai Yujing anything directly. So what method will it use?"
At that moment, Bai Yujing suddenly noticed some commotion in the distance and saw a winged figure slowly descending from the sky: "Finally found you!"
"Ella? What do you want with us?" Bai Yujing immediately asked.
Ella nodded: "Loran Supervisor said you all went out shopping and was worried something might happen to you, so he asked me to keep an eye on you. I also applied for a procurement fund of one hundred silver coins for you. How about that? Isn't that too generous?"
