Shen Fei kept fleeing downward without daring to stop for a moment. Behind him, Bivis relentlessly pursued him. Shen Fei had set off from the previous morning and had not closed his eyes for thirty hours, but at this moment, he knew he absolutely could not stop.
Shen Fei could even sense the movements behind him and the sounds of Bivis and the others approaching from above. Suddenly, Shen Fei stepped into empty air and found himself above a dense Cloud Sea shrouded in mist.
Massive vines grew from an unknown height above, piercing directly into this Cloud Sea. The Cloud Sea spread out over an immense area; it felt as if he had reached the very bottom of this sky kingdom!
Beneath Shen Fei was a gigantic Cloud Hole, where white light flickered within. Shen Fei knew this was the exit, very similar to the place they had entered before.
At this moment, he was just one step away from leaving, but instead of departing, Shen Fei took out a bottle of alcohol from his backpack—supplies he always carried with him. He poured the alcohol onto the vines and then ignited it with a lighter.
However, what happened next was beyond Shen Fei's expectations. The fire ignited rapidly and violently, instantly turning the entire vine into a sea of flames. It seemed that these vines were incredibly flammable, catching fire in the blink of an eye.
But this was exactly what Shen Fei wanted: "Truly, even heaven is helping me!"
Feeling triumphant, Shen Fei immediately left this place. With his backpack on, he jumped into the glowing sphere below, disappearing within it.
The three groups were not far apart; Shen Fei was at the front while behind him, less than a hundred meters above were Bivis and his team. A little over two hundred meters higher were Bai Yujing and others. When the vines caught fire, Bai Yujing noticed the thick black smoke rising and felt something was amiss.
"What’s going on? It seems something has caught fire?" Huckman sniffed the air.
Emma pointed to the side: "Look at that black smoke; do you still need to smell it? There's a fire below!"
Bai Yujing's expression changed drastically: "Not good! There might be trouble below; we must descend quickly!"
The group quickened their pace and arrived below within minutes. At this moment, all the vines had been ignited, and a raging fire completely blocked their path. Once the vines were completely burned through and severed, they might never find an exit from this world again!
Moreover, once the vines were burned through, it meant that Bai Yujing and his team would be trapped with no way out—no path to heaven or door to earth. Bai Yujing also saw Bivis and Hank, who were both eager to rush into the flames. However, the fire was dense and thick with smoke; they could not push through at all.
Bivis, covered in soot, looked at Bai Yujing and his team who had also come down: "Damn it! Bai, we might die here! Shen Fei set this fire to trap us!"
Emma angrily charged forward: "Isn't this all your fault? You've been playing with schemes all along! And that Shen Fei, he was brought in by you to deal with Ian!"
Huckman glared at Bivis and Hank: "You two are nothing but scum!"
Feeling extremely awkward, Bivis had no good solutions at this critical moment: "I admit I was wrong, but now is not the time for arguing. We all need to work together; otherwise, we will all die here!"
Bai Yujing grabbed Emma and said, "Mr. Bivis is right, but do you have any good ideas?"
Hank immediately suggested, "Maybe we can climb down!"
Emma looked up and shook her head, "The difficulty of coming down is different from going up; there's no way we can outrun this fire!"
Bai Yujing glanced down and noticed that about twenty to thirty meters below was a thick Cloud Sea, stretching into the distance as if it had reached the bottom of this world. Beneath their feet was a Cloud Hole, where faint glimmers of light flickered.
Bai Yujing pointed and said, "Do you see that? That's the exit!"
Bivis nodded, "But that's still twenty to thirty meters away; how do we get down?"
Bai Yujing looked at the rope wrapped around the three of them. "This rope is about twenty meters long. If we tie on some clothes or something, it should be enough. We need to act quickly while the fire hasn't spread up here yet and lower ourselves down from the side."
Huckman checked the wind direction: "The wind is blowing this way. If we go down from that side, we can avoid the flames and smoke!"
Everyone quickly sprang into action. Bai Yujing, Bivis, and the others took off their jackets and tied them into knots to attach to the rope. They worked fast because they were racing against time.
Bai Yujing knew they had to rush out through the exit before the fire completely engulfed them; otherwise, they would all die here.
Bai Yujing secured the rope to the thickest vine nearby. It was about thirty meters down, and since the vine grew at an angle downward, most of the rope did not touch it.
Bai Yujing aimed and threw the rope down. The wind was blowing in another direction, so the fire wasn't too intense here, and most of the vines below had already turned to charcoal.
"Emma, you and Mr. Hackman go down first!"
Bivis looked at Bai Yujing and nodded in agreement: "Ladies first; we should also give Mr. Hackman some courtesy!"
After they descended, Bai Yujing went last to prevent Bivis and Hank from doing anything sneaky. The five of them slowly climbed down, but everyone was nervous because if the fire reached above and burned through the rope, the consequences would be dire!
The fire spread quickly. Although they had anticipated it, Bai Yujing didn't expect these vines to be so flammable. It started burning slowly when there was just a small fire below, but now it had turned into a full blaze. In just a few minutes, it had climbed up to twenty meters high at a rate of one meter per minute; in no time at all, it would reach above.
"Everyone move faster; we don't have much time!" Bai Yujing shouted down.
At that moment, Emma at the bottom noticed a problem: "We're not aligned with the entrance; there's still several meters of distance left. How are we supposed to jump in?"
Bai Yujing took a look and confirmed that it was indeed the case. There was still a distance of eight or nine meters from the entrance, making it impossible to gain any leverage or aim properly to jump in. The situation inside the Cloud Sea was completely unclear; who knew what would happen if they fell down?
After thinking for a moment, Bai Yujing said, "Let's all put in our strength together, like swinging on a swing. When we reach above the target, we will let go of the rope and jump down!"
"Ah, is that really possible?" Emma, at the bottom, felt a bit nervous.
"No problem, trust me!" Bai Yujing was at the top, and his words carried some weight; he had led the way in solving many problems along their journey.
Bivis and Hank exchanged glances. "Alright, let's put in our strength together. Bai, you count to three!"
After a loud shout from Bai Yujing, everyone began to swing the rope with all their might. Bai Yujing immediately felt the vines above creaking and groaning as the rope swayed more and more, getting closer to the center of the Cloud Hole's exit. Everyone could see the light source inside and knew at a glance that it was the exit.
"Put in your strength, keep the rhythm, everyone pull together," Bai Yujing instructed as he got everyone to swing in sync. The amplitude of the rope's movement grew larger until they finally reached the entrance.
"Emma, pay attention and get ready to jump!" Bai Yujing tightly gripped the rope and looked at Emma at the bottom.
The wind was strong enough that Emma could barely open her eyes. She shouted up, "Ian, be careful! I'll be waiting for you outside!"
"Don't worry, I'll be out soon!"
Emma was the first to jump out, disappearing beyond the entrance and successfully bursting out of this world. The scene was truly exhilarating; even Bivis, who had been feeling unexpectedly gloomy after losing the Fountain of Life, felt that nothing was more important than leaving this place and returning to the human world.
