As one person after another successfully squeezed through the exit, Bai Yujing gradually reached the lowest point of the rope. Looking up, he saw that the fire had already spread above. Although it was still a considerable distance from reaching the fixed part of the rope, the flames it emitted were already threatening the rope.
Bai Yujing felt a bit anxious: "Hurry up, the rope can't hold much longer!"
Bivis also quickened his pace. The moment he reached above the exit, he jumped down. Now, only Bai Yujing remained above. He exerted force to control the rope and swung around, aiming for the exit. However, at that moment, Bai Yujing did not expect that the bottom of the Giant Vine had already been completely burned through.
Initially, Bai Yujing was worried that the rope would not hold up, but unexpectedly it was the Giant Vine that failed first. He heard a series of collapsing and breaking sounds as thick vines with a diameter of several meters snapped one by one. At this point, it could no longer support itself.
As each segment of the Giant Vine broke apart, Bai Yujing felt as if he and the rope were being lifted into the air, rising several meters in height. Above on the rope, Bai Yujing felt himself sway dramatically.
Bai Yujing quickly steadied himself; he was spinning in mid-air. Although he was now farther from the exit and the violent shaking of the rope made it difficult for him to time his jump, he knew he could not wait any longer.
Bai Yujing gripped the rope tightly. The rotation speed of the rope was very fast; as he exerted force, his veins bulged. With both hands gripping the rope and his legs leaving it behind, he soared through the air.
Calculating his speed and trajectory towards the exit, Bai Yujing chose a moment and instantly let go of the rope. He was thrown out rapidly, soaring through the sky like a large bird heading towards the exit.
In that instant when Bai Yujing released the rope, the massive vine suddenly disconnected. Since the Giant Vine grew at an angle, when it broke free, it whipped away like a snapped spring, swiftly swinging to one side and cutting through the sky like a divine whip before disappearing into the distance.
Bai Yujing barely caught sight of this final scene as he dove into the exit and vanished from this world.
"Plop!"
Bai Yujing felt as if he had fallen from the sky. Before he could react, he plunged into the water. Due to the force of the fall, Bai Yujing sank deeply into the Bottom, surfacing only after a long while.
“Ian! Ian!”
Bai Yujing heard Emma calling his name. He emerged from the water, wiped his face with his hand, and opened his eyes. “I’m here!”
He saw a warm body wrap around him, excitedly hugging his neck and kissing his face. “Thank goodness! Ian, why did you take so long to come up? I thought—”
Emma looked tear-streaked. She had taken a bit too long, and since everyone else had surfaced, she must have been quite scared when she didn’t see him for so long. Bai Yujing hugged Emma and reassured her, “It’s okay, don’t worry. There’s nothing that can defeat me!”
Looking at the water's surface, Bai Yujing noticed Will Hackman swimming towards him. Bivis and Hank were also floating on the surface, watching him. As he glanced around, he realized they seemed to be in a very wide river, with towering mountains visible in the distance and a Highway on the other side.
Looking up at the sky, Bai Yujing saw a faint glow and whirlpool above, which was rapidly shrinking and then disappearing—likely due to the breaking of the Giant Vine.
The group swam towards the opposite bank of the river where the Highway was located. Upon reaching it, they discovered a sign pointing to Inverness. Will Hackman immediately exclaimed, “Oh, no wonder this place feels so familiar! This is Loch Ness. I’ve been on this road before!”
Standing on the Highway, Bai Yujing also felt that the scenery was particularly familiar; he had passed through here last time while driving Emma’s wine-red Ford.
Meanwhile, after getting on the road, Bivis hurriedly looked around. He ran to the front corner to check but found no trace of anyone. “Damn it! Shen Fei has already escaped; we can’t find him!”
Looking at Loch Ness, Bai Yujing said, “I originally thought that the exit and entrance would be in the same place. We would fall at the junction of the Atlantic Ocean and Arctic Ocean, then take your company’s boat back. But it seems Lady Luck isn’t on your side; the exit is actually here!”
Previously, Bivis thought that if the exit was at sea, Shen Fei wouldn’t be able to escape. However, being here made things complicated; Shen Fei had surfaced much earlier than them and had likely escaped far away by now.
“Shen Fei, oh no, I mean Ma Dong. He has very professional tracking and counter-tracking skills; he’s quite adept at escaping and hiding. Good luck finding him!” Bai Yujing couldn’t help but say to Bivis, whose expression grew even worse!
"Then there's no need for Mr. Bai to worry. The mission has failed, and our agreement with the McLeod Group is null and void. We will have no further contact, so let's leave it at that!"
"Hank, let's go. This is England, our territory. Ma Dong definitely won't be able to escape from our grasp!"
It was evident that Bivis was extremely agitated and at a loss when he said this. After spending so much time and effort preparing, he ended up with such a result. Bivis didn't know how to face his Boss, or how his Boss would handle him.
Watching Bivis and Hank leave in such a disheveled state, Bai Yujing embraced Emma and Huckman, and the three of them couldn't help but laugh together. Bai Yujing turned to walk in another direction: "Our deal with the McLeod Group is also over; it's time for us to go home!"
Huckman stood on the road, feeling very pleased: "Let's wait a bit; there are many tourists on this road. We can catch a ride to Inverness!"
Bai Yujing held Emma and looked at Will Hackman, whose beard had grown even larger: "Mr. Hackman, you have helped us a lot this time. Emma and I are very grateful to you, but we don't know how to express it. We can offer you some money..."
Huckman became displeased: "I didn't come for money, and I'm not lacking in it. I should thank you for letting me participate in this adventure. Haha, this is enough for me to brag about for a lifetime!"
"Besides, who says I didn't gain anything?" Huckman proudly took out an exceptionally exquisite ship-shaped pipe from his backpack, treating it like a precious treasure, gently stroking it as if caressing a lover.
"See this? It's the pipe that the Fairy Clan gave me, with words of thanks engraved on it. Although I don't recognize these characters, it's a testament to my friendship with the Fairy Clan!"
Bai Yujing looked at Will Hackman's proud expression and laughed along with Emma. Will Hackman carefully put the pipe away and sighed: "But I am indeed getting older; I can't compare to you young folks. This adventure fulfilled a lifelong dream of mine—my childhood wish: Lilliput, Brobdingnag, Lilliput again, and the Fairy Clan! Oh right, I even saw a dragon! Haha, it was truly amazing!"
The old man stood by the road alongside Bai Yujing, leaning against the railing, feeling as if they had endless stories to share—tales they could boast about for a lifetime. Just then, a car approached from afar, and Bai Yujing immediately jumped out and extended his hand in a gesture to hitch a ride.
