Bazhajian Valley is still the same as before, not much has changed, but there are fewer people than when I first came. After wandering around Grandpa Tree Temple, I didn't look at any other places and headed straight up the mountain.
Following the artificial walkway, I was surrounded by various small bridges and flowing water, perfectly blending nature with human presence. The pools of water beneath my feet flowed continuously, but at this moment, there were hardly any people playing in them. I couldn't see the scene that Bai Yujing wanted to witness, where beautiful women frolicked in the water.
As I followed the path found online, the sky gradually darkened. Bai Yujing wasn't in a hurry; after all, this wasn't their first visit here and they were quite familiar with the route. Inside the backpack, Dudu seemed to sense the atmosphere of this place and poked its head out, resting its two paws on Bai Yujing's shoulders while making cheerful sounds.
Walking on the stone slabs, it was already dark when I encountered tourists coming down the mountain—a couple who had likely gone up to see Pegasus Pool but appeared to be disappointed.
"There's nothing worth seeing up there; it's all a letdown. You should head down early; there's not even a place to rest up there!" they kindly told Bai Yujing.
Bai Yujing nodded, "Thanks, but I have something to do up there; it's fine, I'm familiar with this path!"
"You're not a staff member, are you?" the girl asked Bai Yujing.
Bai Yujing didn’t explain further, so the girl took his silence as confirmation: "That Pegasus Pool you mentioned is really misleading; it's completely false advertising!"
After parting ways with them and walking a bit further, I finally reached the spot where Dudu's footprints were found. This was a path Dudu often took, likely searching for food. Sure enough, upon arriving here, Dudu eagerly jumped out of the backpack and dashed inside, looking very happy and excited.
"Dudu, wait for me!"
Bai Yujing pushed aside some weeds and followed inside. After walking through the woods and bushes for quite a distance, they arrived at a slope about ten meters high. It was from here that Bai Yujing had seen Dudu fall down before; back then, Bai Yujing was startled and thought Dudu was some kind of monster.
Standing at the top, Bai Yujing saw Dudu's little short legs scampering out of the jungle. Sliding down the slope and passing through a neatly arranged red forest, they arrived once again at a cliff covered in vines. At this moment, Dudu had already squeezed through a crevice and entered Mountain Valley.
Clearing the vines, Bai Yujing once again saw the Mountain Valley that he remembered. It was not his first time here, but Bai Yujing was still amazed by the exquisite little Mountain Valley, a small pond formed by a spring, the peculiar twin trees, and the fairy-tale-like Treehouse.
Of course, there was also the unforgettable giant Rhododendron Tree, with its bright red flowers and massive tree ball that made Bai Yujing feel as if everything around him was filled with red. The flowers in the entire Mountain Valley seemed to bloom regardless of the season; the unique geographical environment and temperature inside the Mountain Valley made Bai Yujing feel like it was always spring here.
Bai Yujing came this time to expand his territory. However, he wanted to choose the most beautiful spot to incorporate into his territory, making it forever belong to him. Naturally, this place was the first that came to his mind.
The scenery here might not match the fantastical levels of many places Bai Yujing had visited, but the tranquility and peacefulness of this paradise were what he loved most and made it unforgettable.
Climbing up slowly from under the massive Banyan Tree using a rope ladder, he reached the balcony of the Treehouse. Meanwhile, Dudu was still running around in the Mountain Valley, seemingly unaware of fatigue and very excited. This was its home, and after such a long absence, Dudu missed it dearly.
Bai Yujing shouted towards Dudu, who was running around the Rhododendron Tree near the pond, "I'm back! Time to eat!"
Upon hearing "eat," Dudu's eyes immediately widened as it bounded over in a few leaps and jumped in front of Bai Yujing. Bai Yujing laughed heartily and pinched Dudu's chubby cheeks, saying, "One can of beer, a pile of peanuts, and a bag of jerky!"
After looking at what Bai Yujing mentioned, Dudu immediately raised two fingers at him. Bai Yujing tapped Dudu's head lightly, saying, "Your alcohol tolerance is getting higher; you need to control it!"
Surprisingly, several potted plants on the balcony had not withered; they were growing very lushly. This surprised Bai Yujing. He pushed open the door and walked into the Treehouse. Inside was already quite dusty. After taking out some candles from his backpack and lighting them, Bai Yujing found some tools in the back and started cleaning by fetching water from the pond.
After a long while of busy work, Bai Yujing finally cleaned up the entire little wooden house thoroughly. Dudu began running around in the room again. Bai Yujing immediately picked it up and wiped its feet clean before putting it down. "Don't make a mess; if you dirty it up, you'll have to clean it!"
"Dudu!"
Bai Yujing planned to stay here for two days before packing everything up to take away. He had indeed been quite busy lately, but he loved the atmosphere here most of all; he wanted nothing more than to just relax for a couple of days.
Lighting a candle, Bai Yujing sat in the study, pen in hand, writing something. He rarely felt such tranquility in his heart, and the words flowed smoothly. However, at that moment, Dudu jumped onto the table, causing it to tilt. Bai Yujing quickly steadied it with his hand, but the pen fell into the corner.
"I told you not to cause trouble!" Bai Yujing grabbed Dudu and crouched down to look for his pen in the gap behind the desk. To his surprise, after moving the desk aside, he discovered a fountain pen.
"What is this? Left behind by the previous occupant?"
Bai Yujing picked it up and examined it. The silver body was adorned with luxurious patterns, and there were even diamonds embedded on it. Upon closer inspection, he realized that the pen was made of platinum—truly extravagant. How could something like this be left behind?
As he looked more closely, he noticed a line of small text on it: "I love you—zhu mei chuo!"
Bai Yujing read it aloud slowly: "I love you, zhumeichuo? Zhu Wei?"
"No way?" After saying it out loud, he was taken aback. Was this fountain pen a gift for Zhu Wei? That meant the previous owner of this place was Zhu Wei—the woman who had accompanied him to Antarctica, discovered Atlantis, and left Earth aboard a spaceship.
"Could it really be such a coincidence?"
After thinking for a moment, Bai Yujing felt that it made sense. This place wasn't far from Shuiyuan Village, and Zhu Wei had vanished for a long time after leaving Shuiyuan Village. It was conceivable that during that time, she had sought refuge here to escape her noisy life and created her own paradise.
What a mysterious woman she was; no one could see through her or understand her. Bai Yujing picked up Dudu and said, "I didn't expect your original owner to be her. This world is indeed small."
