"Qiangzi, throw it!"
"Everyone cover your ears and get down!"
Zhong Qiang was already prepared, grabbing something from his waist that resembled a Grenade and throwing it onto the wall of Village. The Sonic Bomb arced through the air and exploded at the top, causing a ripple in the air, with intense sound waves radiating outward.
The piercing sound was deafening even with ears covered. The few people lying on the ground felt their heads go blank. Bai Yujing was the first to get up and saw the Mountain Spirits on the wall of Village falling one after another, crashing down to the ground.
The effect of this Sonic Bomb was far more effective than Bai Yujing had imagined. These strong Mountain Spirits, if not hit in a vital spot, were hardly threatened by firearms. With their incredible speed and numbers, you couldn't fire more than two shots before they pounced.
A powerful Mountain Spirit could easily crush your skull with a single punch, but the Sonic Bomb was different; it was a group attack. Not only did the dozen guards on the wall of Village instantly fall incapacitated, but even a large group rushing from afar also collapsed to the ground, clutching their heads in pain.
Bai Yujing immediately pulled up Lin Ruoqiao and A Ling: "Those lying down pretending to be dead, hurry and run!"
The five of them quickly ran up the mountain, while chaos erupted within the Mountain Spirit's Village. They couldn't quickly organize a pursuit or capture team for Bai Yujing and her group; they could only watch helplessly as they dashed out of the stronghold and disappeared into the mountain jungle.
At that moment, a woman emerged from the Suspended Tower. It was the same Red-Clad Woman that Bai Yujing had seen before, still wearing that outfit, but this time without a Mask, revealing her stunning beauty.
As soon as she stepped out, she saw all the Mountain Spirits prostrated on the ground, trembling as if begging for forgiveness, even neglecting the raging fire that burned nearby.
The woman's narrow phoenix eyes glanced down at them. Looking at the blazing fire, a hint of green light flickered in her eyes, shining like brilliant green gemstones in the night. Wherever her gaze fell, flames extinguished one after another.
In an instant, the raging fire that had been spreading rapidly was quelled. The woman looked down again and immediately saw several Mountain Spirits kneeling below, seemingly grasped by something around their necks. They floated helplessly in mid-air, struggling in agony. As the light in her eyes flickered, their heads were violently torn away from their bodies. Several grotesque monster heads rolled to the ground as dark red blood sprayed out instantly, splattering across the ground.
Watching the deaths of several Mountain Spirits, the many strange beings below trembled in fear, not daring to utter a word. Finally, the woman on stage spoke a few strange phrases, and immediately a small, thin creature wearing a Mask stepped forward, leading a dozen strong Mountain Spirits and two Donkey-headed Wolves as they chased after something.
The direction they were pursuing was the same as where Bai Yujing and the others had fled. However, quite some time had passed since they escaped from the Village, and dawn was approaching. With the arrival of dawn, the mist would once again envelop the area, plunging the entire world into a thick white fog.
At this moment, the woman walked barefoot down from the Suspended Tower. Thousands of Mountain Spirits immediately parted to create a path. A few Masked Mountain Spirits followed her as they walked along the main road of the Village until they reached two Stone Buildings.
The woman passed through the middle of the Stone Building, revealing a man-made Stairs behind it that spiraled upward, ultimately reaching the peak of the mountain. The entire staircase was artificially carved; it was unimaginable to create such a path within such a large mountain.
At this moment, on either side of the Stairs, there were two Mountain Spirits holding Bronze Lanterns at intervals to illuminate the night path up the mountain. One by one, they continued until reaching the summit. At the corners of the Stairs, there were numerous houses and buildings inhabited by many Mountain Spirits; all over the mountain were their strongholds.
If Bai Yujing saw this scene, he would likely be stunned. The number of Mountain Spirits far exceeded his imagination, and the size of Mountain Ghost Village was not what he had perceived. The hidden secrets of the Mountain Spirit Clan deep within were beyond Bai Yujing's comprehension.
As the woman stepped closer to the peak, at the end of the Stairs stood a massive altar filled with bonfires that illuminated the entire mountaintop. At this moment, Masked Mountain Spirits surrounded the altar, performing strange poses and dancing while emitting bizarre buzzing sounds.
The woman stood on the altar and gazed into the distance; this was the very top of the mountain. Before her lay a sheer cliff face that was unlike any ordinary cliff. To be precise, it was too flat—neatly aligned from left to right like a straight line, with no protrusions above or below.
It seemed as if only half of this mountain existed, separated in some peculiar way. From above, one could see that this mountain was actually only half intact; its other half was nowhere to be found.
Standing at the edge of the cliff, it appeared as though she suddenly lost her resolve and stepped off its edge but quickly recoiled in an instant. Sighing softly, she turned around and left.

Bai Yujing and his companions rushed through the jungle at breakneck speed, seemingly lost in their panic within the dark Primeval Jungle. They navigated through it solely relying on a flashlight Bai Yujing had picked up.
Until the sky turned pale, the five of them finally stopped, watching as the thick fog gradually appeared, enveloping the entire world in a blanket of white before they came to a halt.
Bai Yujing had previously found this kind of white mist quite annoying, but at this moment, it felt particularly comforting. In this white fog, he was unable to move forward, and these strange beings were equally trapped; it was a stalemate where neither side feared the other.
Lin Ruoqiao lay on the ground without any regard for her image, grabbing Bai Yujing's water bottle and taking a couple of big gulps. "Bai Yujing, do you have any food? I'm so hungry my stomach is touching my back. I've been running with you all night. If you don't bring out something to eat soon, I'm really going to starve!"
Bai Yujing also got up from the rock and rummaged through his backpack. "I still have a pack of compressed biscuits; you can have that for now. There's half a pack of dehydrated beef and dehydrated vegetables left, but we're out of rice. This isn't going to be enough food. Li Hao and Zhong Qiang, set up camp here. I'll go look for a water source nearby and see if I can find anything to eat!"
Some of the food they had was on Lao Qi, and since Lao Qi was dead, that food was gone too. However, Bai Yujing wasn't worried about finding a solution in these mountains; it would just be a bit troublesome. Besides, he still had plenty of food in his territory space; it was just inconvenient to take it out directly.
Lin Ruoqiao nibbled on the compressed biscuits like a little mouse when she noticed A Ling swallowing hard while looking at her. Lin Ruoqiao turned her head and continued eating, then glanced at A Ling again with annoyance before pulling out a piece of the compressed biscuit and extending it in front of A Ling.
"Here you go!"
