Outside Azure Cloud City, Xing Chen frowned as he looked at the girl in front of him, who was none other than Xu Yuxi, the eldest sister of the Eastern Sun Gang.
"What’s wrong? Don’t you recognize me?" Xu Yuxi said with a charming smile as she gazed at Xing Chen.
"How could I not recognize you? I just didn’t expect your identity," Xing Chen replied, involuntarily recalling past events. He remembered a few years ago when he had fallen onto the streets and encountered a girl who claimed to be an orphan. She had followed him for a while, and eventually, she handed him a cultivation method book that she had somehow obtained, smiling as she said, "I’ll give you this; will you promise me three conditions?"
"I never expected you would join the Azure Cloud Gang. Don’t you want revenge anymore?" Xu Yuxi smiled, as if she understood Xing Chen's situation very well.
"Do you know how I gained my cultivation?" Xing Chen crossed his arms and leaned against a large tree, a hint of nostalgia appearing on his face as he answered her question indirectly. Xu Yuxi gently shook her head. After teaching Xing Chen the cultivation method, she had naturally seen his progress. He had struggled for a month without sensing any Vital Energy at all; his talent was indeed abysmal. Yet now, Xing Chen's cultivation had reached the Human Soul Realm, and it seemed that this was indeed the result of recent years of hard work. In that case, he truly was not inferior to those so-called talents.

"You’re still the same as before—always so extreme," Xu Yuxi said, shaking her head again as she looked at Xing Chen. Especially that cold gaze—it was unforgettable at first glance. Xu Yuxi recognized Xing Chen precisely because of that gaze.
"This isn’t extremism; it’s just making full use of what I have," Xing Chen replied calmly as the cold light in his eyes faded. "What do you want with me? If there’s nothing else, I won’t keep you company."
"Do you really not want to see me?" Xu Yuxi pouted playfully as she looked at Xing Chen.
Xing Chen remained silent. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to see Xu Yuxi; it was just that the recent battle had left him severely injured, and he was merely holding on.
"Forget it; do my three conditions still count?" Xu Yuxi blinked her clear eyes and asked.
"You taught me the cultivation method; I owe you three conditions. You can bring them up anytime," Xing Chen nodded while leaning against the tree with his eyes slightly closed.
"Alright, for the first condition, I want you to withdraw from the Azure Cloud Gang," Xu Yuxi said with a slight smile on her lips.
"Impossible!" Without thinking twice, Xing Chen directly rejected this condition. "Only by staying in the Azure Cloud Gang do I have hope for revenge. If I leave, even if I can take revenge later, it will be delayed by a lot of time. I don’t have that much time to waste."
"Are you planning to break your promise?" Xu Yuxi looked at Xing Chen with some anger.
Xing Chen furrowed his brows and fell silent. To be fair, he didn’t want to break his promise, but asking him to leave the Azure Cloud Gang clearly cut off his hope for revenge. How could he possibly agree?
"Give me a year, and after that, I will leave the Azure Cloud Gang. How about that?" After pondering for a moment, Xing Chen raised his head to look at Xu Yuxi.
"Alright, it's a deal." Xu Yuxi, who had initially lost hope in this request, was suddenly overjoyed upon hearing Xing Chen's response.
Xing Chen nodded; a year also meant giving himself a motivation!
"Actually, I want to ask you a question," Xing Chen said, looking at Xu Yuxi's charming face.
"What question?" Xu Yuxi asked with a puzzled expression, blinking at Xing Chen.
"Why did you approach me back then?" When he first saw Xu Yuxi, he didn't think much of it. But now that he knew her identity, he no longer believed that the situation was so simple. Xu Yuxi must have had some purpose in getting close to him.
"Are you doubting my intentions for approaching you?" Xu Yuxi's smile gradually faded, and her gaze towards Xing Chen suddenly became somewhat resentful. "Since you doubt me, why don't you doubt your adoptive father?"
"What do you mean?" Xing Chen's body trembled as he stood up straight, his eyes fixed intently on Xu Yuxi.
"Hmph, since you suspect me because of my identity, your adoptive father was also the head of a family and had his own status. He suddenly took you as his adopted son; didn't you ever doubt that?" Xu Yuxi huffed, her clear eyes showing a hint of anger.
"That's because my adoptive father felt sorry for me, so..." As he spoke, Xing Chen's body shook again. There were many pitiful people out there; why did he specifically become his adopted son? He wouldn't believe for a second that there wasn't something fishy about it.
"Have you figured it out? Is it worth seeking revenge for someone like that?" Seeing the dazed look in Xing Chen's eyes, Xu Yuxi spoke softly beside him.
"I've been thinking too simply about everything. Thank you for waking me up," Xing Chen sighed after a while and leaned back against the tree behind him.
"I'm glad you understand. Don't take everything too lightly; those who are good to you may not genuinely have your best interests at heart. They might have their own motives or want to use you to accomplish something they can't do themselves," Xu Yuxi said with a beautiful smile returning to her face now that Xing Chen understood.
"So your approach to me also has a purpose?" A self-deprecating smile appeared on Xing Chen's lips as he suddenly realized that there was no one in this world he could truly trust—even Qin Ying was no longer someone he trusted as before.
"Do you want to hear the truth or lies?" Xu Yuxi blinked her eyes, a glint of cunning flashing in them.
"I want to hear both." Xing Chen closed his eyes and replied calmly.
"Then you can judge for yourself whether what I say is true or false!" Xu Yuxi rolled her eyes, clearly not expecting Xing Chen to respond this way.
"Actually..." Xu Yuxi's words just left her mouth when she shyly lowered her head, her pretty face flushed with embarrassment as she said, "Actually, I fell in love with you at first sight, so... that's why I approached you."
"You really should consider acting," Xing Chen said, looking at the infinitely shy Xu Yuxi. There was no change in his expression; anyone with a normal level of intelligence would not believe such a response.
"Alright! Actually, I was attracted to you because of your cold gaze, which is why I approached you." Xu Yuxi lifted her head, and the blush and shyness on her face had completely disappeared, as if the shy Xu Yuxi from just moments ago was not her at all.
"In fact, I prefer your first answer," Xing Chen said after a moment of contemplation, looking up at Xu Yuxi, a hint of a smile appearing on his indifferent face.
"You..." A flash of annoyance crossed Xu Yuxi's eyes. She had intended to tease Xing Chen but ended up being teased by him instead.
"Alright, I'm leaving now." Seeing the flustered Xu Yuxi, Xing Chen stretched lazily and walked forward.
"Hey, are you really planning to go back to the Azure Cloud Gang?" Xu Yuxi asked as she saw Xing Chen about to leave.
