Li Yunyang looked down at his clothes and said nothing as he pulled him into the shop. The small storefront had poor lighting, and the few clothes hanging on the wall were so unappealing that it was hard to compliment them.
“No way, this is so tacky!” Xiang Xueer lifted a dusty gray sweater with her finger, quickly covering her nose as the dust choked her. A spider descended from the ceiling, swaying back and forth in midair; it seemed like this place hadn't had customers in a long time.
Suddenly, a hunchbacked man with a crooked neck approached from the shadows, tilting his head to glare with his lantern-like eyes. He disdainfully asked, “Little girl, what do you want to buy?”
Wow, Xiang Xueer took a step back in shock. She stared at the short man, unsure of what to say. At that moment, Li Yunyang stepped forward and said, “Boss, we want to buy some private goods!”
“Private goods?” The man frowned, sizing up the two of them. Suddenly, his lantern-like eyes fell on the family crest on Xiang Xueer's arm, and he exclaimed, “Ah? The crest of the Ouyang Family? You little blonde girl are also an Exorcist? I see you’re just a fan!”
Xiang Xueer was confused; how did being an Exorcist turn into being a fan? Besides, she was just unfortunate enough to be in the wrong body. If her true self were here, she could solve this with just a finger.
Li Yunyang covered his mouth and stifled a laugh, mumbling to himself, “Wow haha, turns out I’m not the only one who thinks so; great minds think alike!”
The man looked at them with disdain for a while before turning around and lifting the curtain at the back of the room. He coldly said, “Come in with me!”
After following the Crooked-Necked Man through the curtain, they found another door. Xiang Xueer, puzzled, turned to Li Yunyang and asked, “Hey, are you sure we can find the weapons I want here?”
“Well,” Li Yunyang rubbed his chin thoughtfully. “Actually, I’m not sure either. I came here once with my master when I was young; it’s just that the surrounding buildings have changed quite a bit. I think this is the right place; it should be correct!”
As they spoke, after passing through a cave made of red bricks, their eyes suddenly widened in surprise at the scene before them.
“Oh my God, this place is simply a paradise! I didn’t expect there to be such a hidden gem behind that shabby clothing store!” Xiang Xueer rubbed her eyes vigorously as a three-story red-painted building stood tall before them. Surrounding it were small bridges over flowing water, fragrant flowers blooming everywhere, and bustling crowds.
"Ha ha! It's much larger than it was ten years ago!" Li Yunyang grinned and reached out to grab Xiang Xueer's hand, hurriedly heading towards the high-rise building.
Xiang Xueer looked around in amazement and saw a golden-red sign that read five big characters: Exorcism Specialty Store. Wow, there are specialty stores even in ancient times. I wonder if there’s a spokesperson, ‘Senma, whatever you wear is what you are!’
Just as she was thinking this, she turned her head and immediately spotted her target. There were five stone statues on either side of the entrance, a total of ten figures, known as the Holy Ten Exorcists.
Hmph! There really is a spokesperson; it looks like a Korean idol group, Super Junior! Xiang Xueer pouted, whistled, and focused her gaze. The names were listed above: on the far left was Feng Qingyang, the leader of the Saint Ten, followed by Gu Liu Ma in second place; third was Ouyang Zhentian; fourth was Azure Wind Sword One; and fifth was Sikong Xueyi.
"Hmph! That old man actually ranks third, even ahead of Qingtian's father. Truly blind luck!" Looking at Ouyang Zhentian's statue made Xiang Xueer feel an impulse to smash it.
She shot a disdainful glare at Ouyang Zhentian's statue and then looked to the right for the rankings: sixth was Chu Fuyan; seventh was Bai Lixuan; eighth was Guan Jingsheng; ninth was Xiao Ranfu; and tenth was Lan Ran Qingtian.
Lan Ran Qingtian is also part of the Saint Ten! This surprised her the most. She never expected him to be among the Saint Ten, yet he had never mentioned it. He was humble and polite, very low-key. Among the ten statues, he appeared the youngest and most handsome.
"Hmph! No wonder he's the man my Lone Wolf has his eyes on!" Xiang Xueer tilted her head and admired his statue back and forth while Li Yunyang, that idiot, began bowing three times to Feng Qingyang's statue.
"Hey, what are you doing?" Xiang Xueer turned to look at the strange gazes from passersby and quickly distanced herself from him. Unexpectedly, after finishing his bows, Li Yunyang said, "Master, even though I haven't met you in person, I still want to bow three times."
God, when will I be able to get rid of this brainless child with such a thick skin? She shook her head and hurried inside through the main door. From the outside, the building already seemed grandiose; upon entering, she found it even more impressive than she had imagined. The area was as large as several football fields, with rows of booths displaying a dazzling array of goods that made her eyes dazzle.
"Not bad at all; quite a large scale for a small goods market!" Just as Xiang Xueer prepared to enter further, she noticed that everyone on the first floor wore blue cloaks with "Saint Ten" written in large letters on the back. Whether they were vendors or shoppers, they all wore or carried various items related to Exorcists.
At one small booth, Xiang Xueer reached out to pick up something resembling a booklet. When she opened it, she found it contained a full-body portrait of Lan Ran Qingtian along with details about his birthday, preferences, all weapons, and ultimate moves.
"Wow, it's the idol Album! Isn't it selling weapons?" Xiang Xueer blinked her eyes, and suddenly the vendor hurried over: "This young and beautiful lady, Lan Ran Qingtian's Album is the most popular. If you buy this, you'll also get a Holy Ten Cloak. Look at that outfit hanging on the wall, isn't it a great deal? Just ten taels of silver!"
Xiang Xueer was instantly stunned. God, what kind of place and era is this? Even if Exorcist is popular with many fans, there’s no need for such hype. Be careful of the hidden rules.
"Hey!" Li Yunyang appeared out of nowhere, snatched the booklet of Lan Ran Qingtian and disdainfully tossed it aside. Then he picked up another one: "What's this all about? It's just the tenth one; what's so good about it? If you're going to buy something, you should definitely get the booklet of Saint Ten's top figure, Feng Qingyang. Boss, give me a set that comes with a Holy Ten Cloak!"
This idiot, Xiang Xueer shook her head and turned to head upstairs to the second floor. It was clear from just looking that this floor sold various outfits for Exorcist, including the current hottest family emblems from the Blue Dye Clan and the Ouyang Clan.
She frowned as she looked at a blue demon-hunting outfit embroidered with the Ouyang Family Crest. Then she glanced at her own arm and found it increasingly difficult to distinguish which was genuine and which was counterfeit. It seems that no matter what era it is, China has always been a counterfeit kingdom; it turns out this started long ago.
As she turned to head up to the third floor, she suddenly heard Li Yunyang's loud voice: "I want this one, this one, and this one too! Boss, how about a buy two get one free deal?"
"No way, no way! At most I can give you a 20% discount; if I do buy two get one free, I'll be losing money!" The clothing vendor was haggling with him and stubbornly refused to budge.
Seeing that the boss wouldn't give in, Li Yunyang stubbornly picked up a black waist bag and hung it on himself: "Come on, boss! A 20% discount is too little; if you can't do anything else, just throw in a demon-slaying waist bag for me!"
"Alright, alright! I'll give it to you!" The boss said while packing up the clothes, feeling frustrated: "I've never seen someone who can haggle like you!"
"…!"
Xiang Xueer stared at Li Yunyang, who looked just like an aunt haggling over a dime with a fish vendor in a market. She sighed again and shook her head as she made her way to the third floor.
