"Roar!" The Water Sprite revealed its eerie long teeth again. This time it stood upright, its legs in a standing position, and its arms waved wildly. Countless white claw marks swirled in the night, charging towards Li Yunyang, and the two became entangled for a moment.
'Slap! Slap! Slap!' The sound of claws hitting the Bronze Sword was surprisingly pleasant, almost like cheerful percussion. However, Li Yunyang couldn't feel cheerful at all. He continued to grimace and squint, unable to look at the naked woman in front of him, retreating step by step while dodging back and forth.
"This idiot, always causing more trouble than he solves," Xiang Xueer muttered angrily. But the entangled pair on the roof made it even harder for her to aim. For a moment, she had no way to target her shot; if she fired carelessly, she might accidentally injure Li Yunyang or alert the enemy.
Xiang Xueer quietly held her gun, recalling how she had once sniped a Vietnamese drug lord after lying in wait in the woods for two days and nights without sleep. It seemed she would have to use her skills now; this level of difficulty was nothing to her.
"Ha!" She took a deep breath, beads of sweat sliding down her temples as she continued searching for any angle or opportunity to shoot, letting the two idiots on the roof keep entangled.
"Ah, shameless demon without clothes!" Li Yunyang shouted as he struggled against the Water Sprite's claws pressing down on his Bronze Sword. His face flushed as he yelled, startling everyone in the courtyard, including Sima Yi and Sima Zhao, who all looked up at the roof.
Suddenly, the Water Sprite turned its head to glance at Sima Yi in the courtyard, who looked astonished. It immediately pushed Li Yunyang's Bronze Sword away as if embarrassed to be seen, leaped over him, and dashed towards another rooftop.
"Ah!" Li Yunyang quickly reacted, turning to chase after the fleeing demon. He raised his Azure Dragon Sword and shouted out the three-word formula: "Azure Dragon Slash!"
However, animals' reflexes are much faster than humans'. The Water Sprite did not look back; it twisted its body and easily dodged Li Yunyang's attack. Then it leaped into the air with both legs, seemingly about to escape. At that moment, Xiang Xueer finally found an excellent shooting angle and opportunity.
'Bang!' She decisively pulled the trigger on her phone, and a bullet shot out with dazzling fire towards the rapidly moving Water Sprite. Although it sensed danger, due to the bullet's speed, it instinctively tried to dodge but was still too late. The bullet struck its shoulder with a jolt that shook its entire body, and with a loud crash, it fell heavily onto the rooftop.
'Crash!' The sound of tiles breaking echoed as Xiang Xueer confidently stood up, a beautiful smile curving her lips as she slowly slung her AK-47 over her back. "Hmph! It seems my charm still surpasses that of my younger days!"
Li Yunyang stood on the rooftop watching the twitching Water Sprite on the ground. He turned in surprise towards the self-assured Xiang Xueer, speechless for a moment. After sizing up her shooting accuracy, he couldn't help but exclaim, "Wow... I can't believe she hit from so far away; this girl is really impressive!"
"Okay! Net it!" Xiang Xueer snapped her fingers and, with a very seasoned gesture, pouted at Li Yunyang above, signaling him to quickly deal with that strange creature that was neither human nor demon.
Just as Li Yunyang was surprised and preparing to walk towards the immobile Water Sprite on the ground, something unexpected happened. The body of the Demon, which was twitching continuously, suddenly struggled to crawl up from the tiles, covering its shoulder wound with one hand, and turned its head to glare fiercely at Xiang Xueer with eyes filled with intense Killing Intent.
With a roar, it bared its sharp fangs and kicked off the ground, soaring into the air like lightning, darting across the rooftops.
What’s going on? Did I miss? Xiang Xueer furrowed her brows; this was a silver bullet, soaked in Black Dog Blood, which could effectively kill and stop demons' movements.
"Ah!" Xiang Xueer suddenly remembered. She turned to look at her surroundings and noticed that white mist had gradually begun to appear on the ground. Could it have affected the shooting angle and caused her to miss the vital spot?
She watched as the Water Sprite continued to flee further away and quickly raised her gun again, aiming several times in succession. The target was already over five hundred meters away, and with its speed of escape, it seemed impossible to take another shot.
"Damn it!" Xiang Xueer bit her cheek hard. I have never missed before; how could I stumble today? This is simply an insult to my title as Lone Wolf. Frustrated, she put down her gun and vented her anger on Li Yunyang, who had just taken a few steps closer: "You pighead! You can't even catch an injured Demon; what are you good for?"
"You're blaming me again!" Li Yunyang grumbled as he took a few steps. Just as he was about to climb down from the rooftop, he looked down and saw a shiny object next to some purple bloodstains. He crouched down to pick up the glowing object and found it was a large scale that looked like a fish scale, seemingly dropped when Xiang Xueer hit it.
He jumped down from the roof holding the scale and found Xiang Xueer sulking. Li Yunyang handed her the scale: "Look, this scale seems to be from a fish!"
"Hmph! You didn't hit the Water Sprite, and now you're giving me souvenirs?" Xiang Xueer snatched the scale from his hand with annoyance. Under the bright moonlight, the scale emitted a faint glow. But what good is having a scale? I need to catch the Water Sprite; otherwise, my lovely elegant man and little boy will never return to their original forms.
Just then, everyone from the Sima Family gathered around them. Sima Yi glanced at the scale and instead of being upset about not catching the Water Sprite, comforted Xiang Xueer: "Miss Xueer, don't be discouraged. Now that we know about this Demon’s origins, we will definitely eliminate it next time!"
"Hehe! An elegant man is indeed charming; how delightful!" Xiang Xueer immediately laughed out loud and nodded eagerly: "Don't worry; next time I'll take it down with one shot. After all, I already know it resides in Chishui River; you can run away from a monk but not from the temple!"
Li Yunyang stared at her smiling eyes, and in front of everyone, he wrapped his arm around her shoulder and seriously looked at Sima Yi and Sima Zhao, saying, "Don't worry, we will definitely solve it next time!"
Sima Zhao blinked and looked at Li Yunyang's hand on Xiang Xueer's shoulder, pouting and exclaimed, "Ah, no way, are you two a couple?"
"Yes! She is my wife, even though we haven't officially married yet!" Li Yunyang quickly clarified his position in front of him, with an expression that warned Sima Zhao not to touch her, which made Sima Zhao look a bit disappointed.
Xiang Xueer couldn't hold back any longer; she reached out and grabbed Li Yunyang's hand that was on her shoulder, executing a third move of her technique and flipped him onto the ground: "Hey, you little pervert, who said I was your not-yet-married wife? Don't go around making connections for no reason!"
"Wow! That hurts! That hurts! Be gentler!" Li Yunyang knelt on one knee on the ground, his arm nearly twisted off, crying out in pain. Xiang Xueer shot him a glance, released his hand, and turned to walk towards the room.
If she couldn't get a handsome guy in this lifetime, it would definitely be his fault. However, what bothered Xiang Xueer the most was that she had actually missed; she had clearly aimed for the heart but ended up hitting the shoulder. What could have caused that?
As she walked while watching the mist gradually dissipating on the ground, it seemed that it wasn't just a simple Water Sprite; it was related to magic. Xiang Xueer pondered as she headed towards the room when Li Yunyang followed closely behind like a shadow, angrily scolding her: "Hey, you Dead Girl, can you leave me some face in front of others?"
