Liu Jian pushed open the bathroom door with a pale face, his gaze not lingering on Jolie for a moment before he rushed to Autumn Wind's bedside.
"Autumn Wind, listen to me... it's not what she said!"
Jolie remained stiff, like a statue, not moving at all. Her shock lasted for a moment before she quickly regained her composure. Hearing Liu Jian's plea, the corners of her mouth lifted slightly as she turned around swiftly.
With a thud, she also knelt by Autumn Wind's bed. "Autumn Wind, I beg you, please let Liu Jian go back to me, okay?"
"Shut up!" Liu Jian, who had been desperately pleading with Autumn Wind, shouted angrily.
But Jolie showed no signs of ending her performance. "Autumn Wind, I'm begging you!"
Liu Jian was furious. He propped himself up and lifted the kneeling Jolie. "Enough! Are you done with your act?"
"I am acting! Liu Jian, listen carefully, it’s you who wronged me, it’s you who wronged me..." Jolie yelled.
Liu Jian's hands clenched into fists, his deep voice rolling out from his chest. "Listen clearly, I started dating Autumn Wind only after we broke up. Don't make things up..."
"Make things up? How can I be making things up? You are clearly my fiancé! Why does everyone in Taipei know about your engagement to Autumn Wind now..."
A loud slap interrupted Jolie's scream. Liu Jian's fist, which had been tightly clenched, transformed into an open hand and stopped near Jolie's right ear.
"You hit me..." Jolie did not expect Liu Jian to strike her. She lunged at him like an enraged lion, scratching his face with her long nails.
Blood instantly appeared on Liu Jian's face as Jolie showed no intention of stopping; she frantically jumped around.
Liu Jian grabbed Jolie's flailing hands in an attempt to control the mentally collapsing Jolie, but she escaped from him time and again.
Autumn Wind coldly watched the two of them tearing at each other in madness. Was this a genuine performance or yet another staged drama?
Is it true or false? Who can be sure?
Autumn Wind felt a quietness around her; apart from her own heartbeat, she could hear no other sound. She sensed that Liu Jian and Jolie's every action was like a silent play.
Suddenly, the door was kicked open with a loud bang, and Liu Jian and Jolie's movements seemed to freeze as if enchanted. Both of their faces turned in unison towards the door.
A sharp, familiar voice came from behind Autumn Wind: "Do you still have any shame? Causing a scene all the way to the hospital!"
That voice was...
It was Jiang Yu!! She had returned!
Autumn Wind slowly turned her body like a robot. Jiang Yu stood at the hospital door, holding Oke.
The fish she hadn't seen for days looked thin and frail, her thick makeup couldn't hide her exhaustion. Despite this, she radiated a powerful aura that sent chills down one's spine.
Seeing the fish in this state made Autumn Wind burst into tears. She choked back her sobs and opened her arms, wanting to embrace the fish: "Fish... you’re here?"
Hearing Autumn Wind's whimper, the fish quickly stepped forward. She placed Oke on Autumn Wind's hospital bed, then turned to face Liu Jian and Jolie, gritting her teeth as she said, "I think Autumn Wind doesn’t want to see both of you. Could you please leave?"
The fish held her head high, locking eyes with Liu Jian, who was half a head taller than her, her gaze filled with an unsettling intensity.
Liu Jian showed signs of fear as he turned to look at Autumn Wind.
Autumn Wind was pulling Oke into her embrace, whispering softly and unaware of Liu Jian's gaze on her.
Seeing Liu Jian looking at Autumn Wind again, Jolie bit her lip in anger and disdainfully swept her gaze over the fish. "Who are you? What right do you have to speak to me like that?"
Jolie's life had nothing to do with fish; she didn't know anything about them.
The fish scoffed, "Why should I tell you my name? If I'm not mistaken, you're the famous Jolie, right?"
"Yes, and so what..."
"I don't care who you are. This is a hospital room, and Autumn Wind needs to rest. Can you two love-struck fools leave?" The fish shot a venomous glare at Liu Jian and rolled its eyes at Jolie.
"You... I'm not leaving. Autumn Wind still has some things to discuss!" Jolie twisted her waist, sitting on Autumn Wind's hospital bed, and said softly, "Autumn Wind, you have to break off your engagement with Liu Jian! We're good friends, right?"
"Get up! Stop it!" Liu Jian pulled Jolie off Autumn Wind's bed and scolded her angrily.
"I will stay. Autumn Wind, you just said you wanted to break off the engagement!" Jolie exaggeratedly squeezed out a few tears. "For the sake of our friendship, can you help me out and let go of Jaes?"
"Friendship! Don't you have any shame? Autumn Wind deserves better friends than you!" The fish turned around, glaring fiercely at Jolie. If its mouth were big enough, it would want to swallow Jolie whole. "How can there be such shameless people in this world? Bah!"
Yu Chao spat on Jolie's delicately made-up face.
"You dare spit at me!" Jolie sprang up from Autumn Wind's bed, hands on her hips, glaring at Fish Duo.
"What if I do? I spit at you, shameless one! You think just because Autumn Wind has amnesia, you can get away with this? Let me tell you, I have Jiang Yu backing me up; you won't bully Autumn Wind!"
The fish's words hit Jolie's weak spot, and her confidence immediately crumbled. Her face flushed red as she awkwardly leaned against Liu Jian. "Jaes, say something!"
Liu Jian shook his arm and stepped back a few paces from Jolie, his gaze briefly scanning the fish before finally landing on Autumn Wind.
The fish noticed Liu Jian's glance and saw him cowering now. It shouted angrily, "Liu Jian, I misjudged you! I thought you could bring something to Autumn Wind; is this your idea of protection?"
"She is injured now, and you want this crazy woman to make a scene here!" Yu stared wide-eyed, "You irresponsible man..."
"Alright, that's enough! Yu, stop it..." Autumn Wind finally spoke up.
Everyone's gaze turned to Autumn Wind, and a sense of desolation spread through the hospital room, reminiscent of the despair before the end of the world.
Autumn Wind sighed deeply. She raised her head and looked seriously at Liu Jian, her eyes filled with determination after careful consideration.
"I don't care what happened in the past, and I don't know how we were before. I truly can't remember anything between us, Mr. Liu Jian. If we really have an engagement, I'm sorry, but I want to annul it..."
"..." Upon hearing Autumn Wind's words, Liu Jian felt his heart skip a beat; his pupils dilated, and he couldn't utter a word.
A hint of triumph appeared on Jolie's face as she quickly walked to Autumn Wind's bedside, pressed her face close to Autumn Wind, and exaggeratedly held her face, saying, "Thank you, thank you..."
Autumn Wind gently pushed Jolie's hand away and softly replied, "I should be thanking you!" The corners of Autumn Wind's mouth lifted, her tears shimmering with a confusing light.
"..." That beam of light shone into Jolie's eyes, leaving her momentarily stunned as she leaned against the bed where Autumn Wind had pushed her hand away.
"Alright, don’t act coy after getting what you want! You two shameless lovers, get out of here right now!" Yu broke the silence with an angry shout.
A smirk appeared on Jolie's face; her throat moved as if she was about to speak when suddenly there was a loud "slap."
A red handprint appeared on Jolie's face.
This time, the culprit was actually Oke!!
"You little brat, how dare you hit me!" Jolie covered her face and immediately grabbed Oke's hand.
Unable to bear the pain, Oke cried out, "Wow."
"Jolie, if you dare to touch my son, I will fight you!" Yu rushed over and picked up Oke, who was being held by Jolie.
Jolie fiercely released her grip on Oke's hand. "You wait for it..." She pointed a finger at Yu's nose.
"Hmph, wait all you want, I'm not afraid of you!" Yu comforted the sobbing Oke while facing Jolie's challenge.
Jolie withdrew her finger from Yu's nose, flicked her hand, and walked out of the hospital room. The sound of her high heels clicking on the floor gradually faded away.
Liu Jian, who had been standing stiffly to the side with a sad expression, slowly approached Autumn Wind. His hand trembled as he gently rested it on Autumn Wind's arm and pleaded, "Autumn Wind, please don't do this..."
Autumn Wind pried Liu Jian's hand off her arm.
Then she hugged her legs and lowered her head, trembling as she said, "Mr. Liu, you should leave! As for the other matters regarding the engagement, I will contact you after I am discharged!"
Liu Jian stood at the head of the bed without moving, tears welling in his eyes, ready to spill over at any moment.
"Hey, can't you understand? Autumn Wind wants you to leave!" Yu shouted. Hearing his mother's loud roar, Oke cried even harder.
Liu Jian trembled his lips as if wanting to say something. Seeing that Autumn Wind still had her head buried between her legs, he turned around and decided to leave first. He whispered, "Autumn Wind, things are really not as you think; you have to believe me..."
"Just go! What else is there to say?" Before he could finish his sentence, Yu interrupted him harshly.
Liu Jian glanced at the angry Yu, sighed, and walked out of the hospital room, gently closing the door behind him.
Autumn Wind lifted her head and looked at Liu Jian's lonely figure as he left. Her heart felt like it had been pierced by a thousand swords.
She fiercely pinched her thigh, feeling very much like a hypocrite, wanting to maintain her dignity while having lost her principles.
Clearly, it was her decision to end the marriage, yet she shifted all the blame onto others.
Yú looked up at Qiū Fēng as she walked away, gently stepping forward. She freed one hand to tuck a strand of hair that had fallen in front of Qiū Fēng's face.
Qiū Fēng and Yú exchanged a glance, and tears immediately welled up in their eyes, but their lips couldn't help but curl into smiles. After sharing a look, they both burst into laughter.
Oke, who had been crying loudly in Yú's arms, suddenly quieted down. With her round big eyes and long eyelashes glistening with tears, she blinked at Qiū Fēng and Yú before bursting into giggles like a sound-sensitive doll.
Hearing Oke's laughter made Qiū Fēng and Yú laugh even louder.
The laughter lingered in the room for several minutes before gradually fading away.
However, tears hung in Yú's eyes as she reached out to gently stroke Qiū Fēng's belly. "He’s gone!"
Qiū Fēng tried repeatedly to hold back her tears, but when her gaze fell on Oke, sadness still spread endlessly within her.
