"You, who are you?" Uncle Liu was about to close the car door when someone crawled out from under the vehicle, startling him.
How could Uncle Liu, who had been a soldier, be intimidated by a mere kid? He assumed a stance, ready to confront the intruder.
"Uncle Liu, don't be nervous!" Two more people crawled out from under the car beside him.
Uncle Liu focused and recognized the one who spoke, "You are Liu Jian, Mr. Liu? What are you all doing here?"
He pointed at the person who had just emerged from under the car, holding some clothes. "What on earth is going on? Surely, my sister and the lady aren't looking for this person?"
Liu Jian took the "Ocean Blue," quickly checked it, and found nothing unusual. "Uncle Liu, you don't need to ask too many questions about this. Just pretend you didn't see us!"
He waved his hand to signal his subordinates and walked toward the back door of the room.
After taking a few steps, Liu Jian turned back. "Don't worry, Uncle Liu; I won't harm your sister!"
You won't harm her? It seems like you're the one who's hurt the most right now, Uncle Liu thought as an outsider reflecting on the situation.
Uncle Liu nodded slightly to indicate he understood and watched as Liu Jian and the others left.
The staff behind saw Liu Jian and immediately let him pass. Liu Jian signaled for his subordinates to bring Qiu Hai to the monitoring room while he took the "Ocean Blue" into the monitoring room himself.
A few minutes later, there was a knock on the door.
As soon as Qiu Hai entered the monitoring room, his eyes were fixed on the "Ocean Blue." "Where did you find this?"
Liu Jian leaned against the sofa, his hand covering his face, his expression serious and pained. After a long sigh, a sad voice emerged, "Autumn Wind was in the car! But I know this has nothing to do with her!"
"Are you so sure? Why?" Qiu Hai squinted, glancing sideways at Liu Jian.
Liu Jian's hand slipped from his face. "If I could take it off the car without Uncle Liu noticing, then someone else could definitely put it on without being detected!"
"That's a bit far-fetched, though. That person could also be Autumn Wind or that Sister Jiang!" Qiu Hai raised an eyebrow, his eyes fixed on the monitor as he reviewed all the surveillance footage from the banquet. Aside from the blind spot in the Toilet, Autumn Wind's figure appeared consistently on screen.
After confirming that Autumn Wind had no opportunity to commit the crime, Qiu Hai sighed deeply and sat down beside Liu Jian, frowning in deep thought.
After a brief silence, Qiu Hai and Liu Jian almost simultaneously shouted a name, "Jolie!"
They sprang up from the sofa and rushed to the monitor to check on the woman who appeared at the crime scene. Even though she was well-covered, they could still see her metallic earrings glimmering faintly in her hair.
Jolie had her hair down today, and no one had noticed her earrings.
Qiu Hai paused the footage and pointed at the earrings. "Are you sure? Was she wearing earrings today?"
Liu Jian shook his head and stood up, ready to investigate further.
"What are you going to do? Even if she was wearing the same earrings, it wouldn't clarify anything..." Qiu Hai stopped Liu Jian's impulsiveness and whispered a few words in his ear, "Just follow my lead..."
Looking into Qiu Hai's eyes filled with anger, Liu Jian felt a sense of unfamiliarity; this wasn't the Qiu Hai he knew.
Liu Jian was aware of the relationship between Qiu Hai and Jolie, but their previous close bond made Qiu Hai's attitude toward Jolie difficult for him to understand...
What else happened between the siblings?
With questions in mind, Liu Jian walked out of the monitoring room and headed straight to the Lounge.
Inside the Lounge, everyone was gathered around Qiu Ruolan, comforting her. Lin Xiang, Wang Zi, and Hai were all trying to come up with various topics to discuss, even the Korean Agent was involved.
Autumn Wind had already changed her clothes and sat quietly in a corner, next to the equally quiet Huang Zihe, who occasionally smiled, looking quite intimate.
Noticing Liu Jian looking at her, Autumn Wind deliberately leaned closer to Huang Zihe, resting her knee on Huang Zihe's long leg, an action that appeared extremely ambiguous.
Liu Jian stared at Autumn Wind for a moment, then gently closed the door behind him, intentionally leaving a crack open.
He walked up to Qiu Ruolan and spoke in an exaggerated tone, "Sister Sally, 'Ocean Blue' has been found!"
Liu Jian's voice was loud. Qiu Ruolan looked up just in time to hear him and instinctively covered her ears. "You found it? Why are you shouting so loudly!"
She stood up and stepped forward. "Where did you find it?"
Autumn Wind in the corner also clearly heard Liu Jian's words. She looked at Liu Jian, eager to know the answer as well.
"Well... I can only say that the surveillance captured everything. Sister Sally, please go take a look at whether 'Ocean Blue' has suffered any losses?" Liu Jian's words sounded grandiose as he gestured invitingly.
Qiu Ruolan handed what she was holding to her assistant and followed Liu Jian out of the Lounge.
Jolie leaned casually against the door of the Lounge. Seeing Liu Jian and Qiu Ruolan come out, she approached them affectionately. "Jaes, I heard 'Ocean Blue' has been found!"
Liu Jian glanced at Jolie, his gaze landing on her earrings, which were indeed empty. "Yes, I've found them. I'll accompany Sister Sally to check if the dress has been damaged!"
After Liu Jian finished speaking, he strode to catch up with Qiu Ruolan.
Jolie's face turned pale as she slid against the door panel, her eyes revealing a hint of despair.
Her distracted appearance was closely observed by Qiu Hai, who stood in front of the monitor.
Liu Jian followed Qiu Ruolan into the surveillance room. As soon as Qiu Ruolan entered, her eyes were fixed on "Ocean Blue."
Her hand gently glided over the clothes as she spoke in the same tone as Qiu Hai, "Where did you find it?"
Liu Jian's throat moved a few times but no sound came out.
"That's not important!" Qiu Hai's voice came through.
To Qiu Ruolan, Qiu Hai's words sounded somewhat evasive. "Could it be…"
"No, don't think too much. She doesn't even know about 'Ocean Blue.' How could it be her…" Qiu Hai directly interrupted Qiu Ruolan. At the time when they decided to use "Ocean Blue" for the new product advertisement, Autumn Wind hadn't entered HK yet. Even though she joined HK later, this was something Autumn Wind should have known.
"Then who is it…" Qiu Ruolan turned her gaze towards Liu Jian. Compared to Qiu Hai's cunningness, Liu Jian was much easier to deal with.
Liu Jian exchanged a brief glance with Qiu Ruolan before hurriedly looking away.
"Alright, once we confirm there's nothing wrong, go out and explain to everyone. There are still people waiting to watch the show!" Qiu Hai said as he walked to the door, opened it, and instructed a few words to the staff. Soon someone rushed in to take away "Ocean Blue."
"Please!" He extended his hand, making an inviting gesture for Qiu Ruolan to go out.
With a heart full of doubts, Qiu Ruolan frowned slightly as she walked out of the monitoring room. Since "Ocean Blue" had already been found, other matters were no longer important...
After Qiu Ruolan walked in front of him, Qiu Hai exchanged a glance with Liu Jian, who nodded to indicate his understanding.
As the three appeared, the media immediately surrounded them. A reporter from "Fruit Daily" was the first to speak up, "Excuse me, Qiu Dong, since 'Ocean Blue' has been found, could you tell us who took it?"
"Well! Since it has already been found, who took it is not that important!" Qiu Hai relaxed his brow and spoke in a steady tone.
"I heard that the surveillance captured the true identity of the culprit. Is his identity very special, which is why Qiu Dong is protecting him so much?" another reporter asked.
This question made Qiu Ruolan's heart skip a beat. She looked up in panic at the reporter; it was indeed from "AG Daily"! Aside from their reporters, few would ask such sharp questions.
Qiu Hai smiled slightly, "Calling him a culprit is a bit inappropriate. I can only say that whether his identity is special or not is a different matter from whether we disclose his identity."
"Excuse me, Sister Sally, will you still insist on wearing 'Ocean Blue' at the upcoming launch event...?"
"Why not? The 'Ocean Star' launch event cannot be separated from 'Ocean Blue'..." With a radiant smile, Qiu Ruolan's voice was sweet and gentle.
A shadow stealthily appeared at the door of the monitoring room. Everyone in the hall was focused on Qiu Hai and Qiu Ruolan. The staff who had just been searching for "Ocean Blue" rushed to the room next to the Lounge to take on the task of guarding "Ocean Blue."
Seeing that the monitoring room was empty, someone gently pushed open the door. Using the dim light, they hurried to the control panel of the monitor and began to operate it stealthily!
Upon finding the video of the woman when "Ocean Blue" went missing, they clicked delete and pressed the confirmation button with a long sigh.
Suddenly, the lights brightened, and Liu Jian's powerful voice came through, "It really is you!"
Covering her eyes with her hands to shield them from the painful glare, Jolie's delicate face was illuminated to a pale white under the light.
Liu Jian's piercing gaze shot towards Jolie, and she knew everything was over.
The scheme she had meticulously planned tonight to frame Autumn Wind had crumbled in this moment.
Qiu Hai explained to the reporters and immediately signaled the staff to escort them away.
Hearing gasps from the direction of the monitoring room, he knew that the prey he had been waiting for had already fallen into the trap.
Bending slightly, he extended his arm, "Sister Sally, didn't you want to know who took 'Ocean Star'? Please, let me take you to see the answer!"
Qiu Ruolan followed Qiu Hai's guidance with some skepticism as they walked towards the back.
In the monitoring room, Jolie was surrounded.
Liu Jian's gaze pierced her like a knife. "Jolie, listen to me. I just heard that 'Ocean Star' has been found and came out of curiosity to take a look. I don't know what exactly happened!"
Jolie was convinced she had deleted the video and thought that if she denied it, no one could do anything to her!
"Do you think that just because you've deleted the video, we can't do anything to you?" Qiu Hai's steady voice came from afar as the staff instinctively made way.
Qiu Hai's voice sounded like a muffled thunder in Jolie's ears, causing her body to involuntarily tense up. What did he mean?
Qiu Hai took a delicate external hard drive out of his pants pocket and said, "Do you want to take a look at the contents inside?"
Jolie turned pale, realizing that things were not as simple as she had imagined. She bit her lip and fell silent.
The Special Guests noticed that many people were gathering at the door of the monitoring room and began to rush over.
Qiu Hai glanced at Jolie and said coldly, "Take her to the Lounge!" His voice was icy, as if frozen.
Qiu Hai turned to leave, and a staff member stepped forward to escort Jolie toward the Lounge.
Liu Jian stared blankly at the departing Qiu siblings. How could Qiu Hai be so harsh towards his own sister? And why was Jolie so afraid of Qiu Hai?
What on earth had happened between them?
