Hearing Huang Zihe ask about Oke's father, Autumn Wind's heart suddenly tightened. She forced a faint smile and changed the subject.
In fact, Autumn Wind did not have the same calmness regarding Leo as she did with Yu. She was even less willing to admit that Leo liked men. But this was contradictory; Oke was indeed Leo's child.
Did he really like Yu? Was the sweetness they once shared on campus just an act?
Noticing that Autumn Wind had nothing to say, Huang Zihe realized he might have hit a sensitive spot. He stopped talking and completely relaxed, lying back in the wicker chair, squinting at Oke busy in the sand pile.
"I found it!" Oke exclaimed, waving a shell excitedly.
"That's great! There are still many more, keep it up, Oke!" Autumn Wind encouraged him, also relaxing back in her chair.
The sunlight quietly bathed the two of them, creating a serene atmosphere as if spring had already arrived.
On the terrace of the villa to the east, two men in suits were quietly observing the scene in the courtyard.
Autumn Wind, Huang Zihe, and Oke formed a beautiful family picture.
Behind them, the real estate agent was calculating the price of the villa. Liu Jian leaned his hands on the rusted railing while Qiu Hai had his hands in his pockets.
"Are you sure you want to buy this villa?" Qiu Hai's voice asked. After the press conference ended, Liu Jian suggested visiting his home, and Qiu Hai knew Liu Jian had set his sights on this villa.
Being neighbors with Autumn Wind was quite a temptation for Liu Jian.
Liu Jian did not respond to Qiu Hai; his eyes remained fixed on Autumn Wind and the two others in the courtyard. The sight of Oke playing in the sand touched a deep sense of guilt within him. If there hadn't been an accident, he would have been a father soon.
His eyes began to redden, and his nose tingled as tears welled up. To avoid letting Qiu Hai see his distress, he turned his head to the side.
Qiu Hai's gaze remained fixed on Autumn Wind and the three people with her. Autumn Wind shivered slightly, as if sensing that someone was paying attention to her.
Realizing that Autumn Wind had raised her hand, Qiu Hai immediately placed his hand on Liu Jian's shoulder, exerted some force, and turned to walk downstairs. "Let's go check the room downstairs; there are some details we need to pay attention to!"
He did not allow Liu Jian to speak and directly pulled him downstairs.
Autumn Wind lay on the rattan chair and felt a force directed at her from the right. She propped herself up to look and saw three people standing on the eastern terrace, only able to see their backs.
They must be potential buyers! Autumn Wind knew that the villa on the east side was recently up for sale. Seeing those men made her feel uncomfortable being watched.
"Ahe!" Autumn Wind called out to Ahe. At this moment, Oke had long stopped searching for treasures and was happily playing with the treasures he had already found.
The Conch disguised as Huang Zihe had been found by Oke and was now placed at the highest point of the castle as a roof decoration.
Autumn Wind bent down to pick up the Conch, forcefully shaking off the earrings before handing them to Huang Zihe. "Don't put them on right away! There are a lot of bacteria in the Conch!"
Huang Zihe reached out to take them, but Autumn Wind withdrew her hand again. "Forget it, I'll disinfect them for you!" Ahe ran out from the villa, and Autumn Wind gestured for him to tidy up the courtyard before heading toward the villa.
When Huang Zihe came in holding Oke, Autumn Wind had already taken care of the earrings. Wearing white gloves, she cautiously approached Huang Zihe and waved for him to bend down.
With extreme caution, she helped Huang Zihe put on the earrings. Autumn Wind's breath evenly brushed against Huang Zihe's neck, clear and calm. Huang Zihe's heart suddenly skipped a beat as he realized why Li Gu liked Autumn Wind so much; this woman indeed exuded a kind of charm that made it impossible not to fall in love with her.
"All done!" Autumn Wind looked proudly at Huang Zihe's earlobe. "Haha, this is my first time helping someone put on earrings! Not bad, right?" Her smile was bright.
Huang Zihe reached out to touch them and smiled gratefully at Autumn Wind.
At that moment, his phone beeped with a message notification. After sliding it open, he found that Hai had sent him a reminder about attending a celebration at a Western restaurant that evening, asking him to come back and get ready.
"What's the matter? Do you need something?" Autumn Wind held Oke and walked over to Huang Zihe, her body slightly bent from the effort.
"Yes, I have to go back!" Huang Zihe took Oke, kissed him on the cheek, and turned to Autumn Wind.
The scene resembled a husband giving instructions to his wife as he was about to leave home.
"Sister, do you have any instructions for me?" Uncle Liu suddenly appeared in front of Autumn Wind.
"Uncle Liu is still here? Didn't you go back to celebrate your daughter's birthday?" Autumn Wind was slightly taken aback by Uncle Liu's presence.
"The lady instructed me to personally see Mr. Huang back!" Uncle Liu replied respectfully.
"But Ahe is here too!" Autumn Wind's eyes darted around. "After you drop off Mr. Huang, you don't need to come back. What about Sister Liu?" She raised her head awkwardly and looked at Huang Zihe. "Would you mind if Sister Liu shared a car with you?"
Huang Zihe, who was spinning around with Oke in his arms, realized that Autumn Wind was talking to him. He stopped and shrugged, "Of course I don't mind!"
Autumn Wind carried Oke and sent Huang Zihe, Uncle Liu, and Sister Liu out the door. She stood at the entrance watching the car drive away. In her line of sight, she noticed a car parked in front of Qiu Hai's villa. When she recognized it as Liu Jian's car, she quickly retreated into the house like a startled bird.
At this moment, Oke was already feeling sleepy. Autumn Wind carried him slowly up to the fish tower. The fish was still sound asleep. After knocking on the door a few times without a response, she returned to her own room with Oke.
She took off Oke's clothes, changed his diaper, and placed him on her bed while she walked over to the window, staring blankly at Qiu Hai's room.
Qiu Hai should be chatting with Liu Jian in the living room; his room was empty and devoid of people. As she gazed out, Autumn Wind felt an emptiness in her heart as well.
Autumn Wind sat quietly by the window until five o'clock in the afternoon when the sound of Liu Jian's car starting startled her awake. She stood up and looked out; Liu Jian was sitting in the car chatting with Qiu Hai.
What were they talking about? They seemed so engrossed; they wouldn't be plotting against me again, would they?
Autumn Wind truly dislikes being controlled by the HK framework. Perhaps it is indeed as Qiu Hai said, that she is merely a tool used to manipulate Liu Jian. But looking at how close the two are now, does Liu Jian not know Qiu Hai's intentions, or does he have his own plans?
Autumn Wind suddenly remembers that it was Liu Jian who invited her into HK. No, I don't want to stay in HK anymore!
Liu Jian pokes his head out of the car. He looks up and talks to Qiu Hai, but his eyes glance over at Autumn Wind Villa.
Seeing Liu Jian like this, Qiu Hai smirks, "You, so infatuated, does Autumn Wind know?"
This arrow strikes at Liu Jian's heart; it is exactly what he fears. He knows Autumn Wind's personality well—once she self-hypnotizes, all his efforts will be in vain. He pulls his head back inside the window, speaking almost to himself yet seemingly answering Qiu Hai's question, "She will know!"
With that, Liu Jian starts the car, accelerates with a "ng" sound, leaving a trail of smoke as he disappears before Qiu Hai.
Qiu Hai helplessly shrugs and pretends to casually look towards Autumn Wind's room. Is she standing by the window now?
As Qiu Hai's gaze shifts to the window, Autumn Wind quickly leaves her spot by the window. She lies flat on her bed, afraid of disturbing Oke, while her heart races wildly.
She presses her hand against her chest, trying to calm herself, but she always feels like something is missing.
Ahe gently knocks on the door. "Sister, can we order takeout for dinner tonight?"
With Sister Liu not around and unable to cook herself, and with Fish fast asleep, there is no other option but takeout. "Alright, go ask Sister Jiang what she likes to eat and order according to her preferences!"
Fish has picky tastes; what Autumn Wind chooses may not be what she likes, but whatever she chooses, Autumn Wind will accept unconditionally.
Hearing Autumn Wind's instructions, Ahe turns and heads towards Fish's room.
Just as Ahe places her hand on Fish's door without knocking, Fish opens the door.
Rarely is Oke not in bed, and Yu sleeps very comfortably because she no longer has to worry about crushing him.
In fact, Yu had considered whether to take Oke's crib, but doing so would let Autumn Wind know that she was actually driven out by her parents, rather than being there to take care of Autumn Wind's life.
After this beautiful nap, she made up her mind that even if her brother killed her, she would have to take Oke's crib.
When Autumn Wind knocked on the door, Yu vaguely heard it. She thought to herself that she would just sleep for a while and then get up to open the door. However, when she woke up, an hour had already passed. She hurriedly jumped out of bed and opened the door to find Autumn Wind, but instead saw Ahe standing in front of her.
Yu was startled and instinctively hugged herself, taking a few steps back. "Ahe, why are you here? What happened?" Yu was wearing a suspender dress with a short hem that barely covered her hips. When she hugged herself, her chest pressed together, revealing an enticing cleavage.
Ahe's face turned red instantly as she stammered, "Um, Sister Qiufeng asked me to find out what we are having for dinner tonight. She wants you to choose the takeout!" Ahe's gaze fell on Yu's chest but she struggled to control herself. In the end, her eyes darted around but could not help lingering on Yu's body.
Yu naturally noticed Ahe's awkwardness. After spending a few days together, she could sense Ahe's feelings for her. Especially today when they were out shopping with Oke, Yu even had the illusion that Ahe was like her husband and Oke was the father he could rely on. He held Oke in one arm while carrying Yu's spoils in the other; true couples were no different from this.
"Really! Autumn Wind asked me to choose!" She released her arms from around herself and reached out to grab Ahe's hand, pulling her into her room. "Ahe, what do you like to eat?"
Yu stopped in her tracks and leaned closer to Ahe's body; her chest just happened to press against Ahe's abdomen. She felt Ahe's breath quicken...
