"Leave now, get out of here quickly, don't give her any more hope; you will torment her to death!" Autumn Wind shouted loudly at Leo, rushing barefoot in front of him and tearing at his clothes. "Why did you come back? Was it just to torment her?"
Leo remained motionless, allowing Autumn Wind to scold and pull at him. The tears of the fish did not cause him to tremble at all; rather, it was Autumn Wind's anger that made him begin to reflect: what was the purpose of his return to Taipei this time?
In the end, Leo decided to return to America without waiting for Qiu Hai to come back.
After much thought, Autumn Wind decided to accompany Ahe to the airport to see him off.
Uncle Liu and Ahe sat in the front seat, while Leo and Autumn Wind sat side by side in the back. He wore a gray cap pulled low over his face, meant to cover the long bandage on his face left by Autumn Wind's harsh actions.
He coughed lightly and glanced at Ahe, nudging Autumn Wind with his elbow. "When did they start?" The brim of his cap was so low that Autumn Wind couldn't see his face.
Was it because Ahe's behavior was too obvious, or because this guy understood him too well? He guessed Ahe's relationship with the fish right away. Autumn Wind sighed deeply. "It's been going on for a long time, very stable, almost ended by you!" Her tone carried dissatisfaction.
The corners of Leo's mouth clearly lifted slightly as he reached into his bag and took out a card. "Use this money to help her!"
"You think money can solve everything?"
Her lips pressed into a line, her voice somewhat low. "Of course not. Then tell me what else I can do besides money!"
"..." Autumn Wind was speechless; she really couldn't think of a better way. Even though Leo had changed, he still had an ina to be responsible for. She took the card and deliberately said with dissatisfaction, "How much is on it? Is it enough for Oke to grow up?"
He smiled faintly. "No matter what I do, it won't change the fact that I am his father!" He turned his cap to the side, raised his head, and looked at Autumn Wind. "This time I hope you can be with him until the end!"
Autumn Wind didn't think much about it; she just nodded lightly.
Leo left second, and Qiu Hai rushed back from the mainland. Upon learning that Leo had already left, he felt a bit disappointed. His explanation was that he hadn't had the chance to understand Autumn Wind well enough, but Autumn Wind didn't believe him at all.
She vaguely sensed that there was a huge secret between Qiu Hai and Leo. If it weren't for the sudden aggressive behavior of the fish, Leo would have definitely waited for Qiu Hai to return and then exaggerated this secret infinitely.
Just like how Leo used to sneak into nightclubs with Autumn Wind and Qiu Mowen, he always liked to hang out with men who loved Autumn Wind.
The rain fell heavily for several days. Many times, Autumn Wind lay quietly in bed, using her own strength to provide opportunities for Ahe, hoping their relationship could return to how it was before Leo appeared. However, she lacked the courage to give the card that Leo left for the fish to her, fearing that it might provoke a strong reaction from the fish.
Lying in bed, Autumn Wind aimlessly flipped through magazines. After finishing one, she reached for another when she suddenly remembered the letter in the low cabinet by her bedside—the one about Li Gu being released from prison. Just as she took it out, the bedroom door was pushed open, and Qiu Hai's tall figure appeared in the doorway.
Wearing a thin gauze nightgown, Autumn Wind hurriedly grabbed the blanket to cover herself. The envelope that had been on the blanket slipped to the floor with her movement. "Y-you're here!" she exclaimed, not noticing that the envelope had fallen; she was only worried about whether Qiu Hai had seen something he shouldn't have.
The envelope briefly spun in the air before landing perfectly on Qiu Hai's shiny black shoes with a soft "thud."
Bending down to pick it up, he asked, "What is this?" Noticing the simplified characters on the envelope, his brow furrowed—was it from the mainland? Instinctively, he reached inside the envelope and pulled out a folded white A4 paper.
"Ah, no!" As Qiu Hai pulled out the paper, Autumn Wind shouted. Forgetting her attire, she threw off the blanket and reached for the envelope.
Instinctively recoiling, Qiu Hai felt Autumn Wind's hand slide across his chest. She grasped at nothing and continued sliding downwards, brushing against his private area before ending up face down on the floor with her hands supporting her weight. Her bottom faced up as her short nightgown slid down to her chest, turning into a belly band while her pink lace underwear was exposed.
Both of their faces turned red almost simultaneously.
For a moment, Autumn Wind's hand slid on the ground before she pushed herself up with effort, blushing furiously as she quickly shrank back under the blanket, covering her head and daring not to make a sound; her heart raced wildly.
The bed shook slightly. What was happening? Curiously peeking out with one eye towards where Qiu Hai had just stood, she wondered where he went.
The bedroom suddenly darkened as the curtains were drawn shut! Before she could react to what was happening, in the next moment, Qiu Hai dove under the covers with Autumn Wind.
"What... what do you want to do..." Before she could finish her sentence, his heated lips were already pressed against her cherry-red mouth, and through her thin nightgown, a pair of large hands began to move across her back.
She wanted to struggle but was held even tighter; her body started to heat up, and her mind went blank.
A cool palm caressed her burning body. She arched her chest and twisted restlessly, the remnants of her rationality still futilely resisting, yet she couldn't help but let out a soft moan, her legs involuntarily wrapping around Qiu Hai's long legs.
Her hand slipped into his white shirt, cautiously yet eagerly unbuttoning it until she finally touched his solid muscles. As she slid down to unfasten his belt, the ambiguous atmosphere thickened, and the chasm of desire grew deeper.
Qiu Hai pressed her body fiercely against him, making her feel the man's rising desire. His flat abdomen rubbed against his waist, and Autumn Wind stopped resisting; her body slightly lifted as she actively extended her soft tongue.
Leaning down, he gently kissed every inch of her beautiful body, softly blowing into her ear and nibbling on her earlobe. Just as his deep breaths were about to escalate, Autumn Wind's eyes suddenly opened wide.
All the beauty vanished in that instant; the flower bud had not yet bloomed before it closed again. With a forceful push, she shoved away the desperately demanding Qiu Hai and clutched the blanket tightly, panic written all over her face.
"What’s wrong?" Qiu Hai's forehead was already beaded with sweat; Autumn Wind's sudden change left him at a loss.
Autumn Wind tightened her grip on the blanket and took a deep breath. "We just got together..." She looked at the solidly built man before her with fear in her eyes, devoid of any warmth.
Her words extinguished Qiu Hai's interest entirely. He got out of bed, dressed quickly, sighed heavily, and pulled back the curtains. Brilliant light flooded in, brightening the room once more. He glanced at Autumn Wind, who was nervously leaning against the headboard; tears had already stained her face.
Sitting on the bed, he pulled her into his embrace. As he held her tighter, he felt the tears streaming down slowly. His slightly husky voice broke the silence. "I'm sorry; it's my fault!"
What greeted him was not Autumn Wind's compliant embrace but rather a stronger struggle from her. "Can you please leave? I need some time alone!"
Qiu Hai's gentle movements suddenly became stiff as he cupped Autumn Wind's face, trying to calm her down.
But at that moment, Autumn Wind had already struggled out of his embrace, her voice filled with grievance, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry!"
Qiu Hai felt helpless and had no choice but to stand up from the bed. He walked around to the other side of the bed, still wanting to say something, but Autumn Wind's tears interrupted all his thoughts.
The envelope that he had placed on the low cabinet had somehow slipped to the floor. He bent down gently, tucked it into his sleeve, said nothing, and walked out of the room.
As Qiu Hai closed the door, Autumn Wind completely broke down.
The bed still retained Qiu Hai's warmth. She had once been so eager for the intimacy they just shared, but when that moment arrived, all she could think about was another woman beneath him. Autumn Wind knew very well that she had no right to demand Qiu Hai remain faithful. She understood even more that with his identity and status, what she had witnessed between him and another woman was merely the tip of the iceberg of Qiu Hai's private life.
Yet she couldn't help but think about those things.
She felt that perhaps between her and Qiu Hai, before it even truly began, it had already come to an end.
As soon as Qiu Hai stepped out of the bedroom, he quickly opened the envelope and pulled out a neatly folded A4 paper. He scanned it hurriedly, and a flash of lightning struck his mind; it was a memory he almost forgot—he was supposed to go to the mainland next month to pick up someone named Li Gu who was being released from prison!
He put the letter back into the envelope but was drawn to another note inside. The name Ren Ran... what did that mean?
Sister Liu stepped up the stairs carrying a tray with two cups of milk. One cup was clearly for Oke, while the larger one in the tray was for Autumn Wind.
Seeing Qiu Hai standing at the door, Sister Liu paused, glancing at the closed door, then looking down at the milk, and finally at Qiu Hai, whose face was slightly flushed and hair a bit disheveled. She didn't know what to do.
Qiu Hai smiled lightly and picked up the cup from the tray. "I'll take this to her!" He pouted slightly, signaling for Sister Liu to go to Autumn Wind's room.
Autumn Wind wrapped her arms around herself, filled with regret and annoyance, a wave of sorrow surged in her heart, and as she thought about it, tears rolled down her cheeks again.
Through her tear-filled eyes, a cup of steaming milk appeared in front of her. Looking up, Qiu Hai was smiling at her, bringing the cup closer to Autumn Wind.
In a moment of impulse, she took the cup without hesitation and drank it all in one go, wiping her lips with her arm and shyly looking at Qiu Hai.
"Ah, you really are the cutest like this!" Qiu Hai said with a gentle smile, extending his long finger to lightly tap her nose.
Autumn Wind couldn't understand the true meaning behind Qiu Hai's words. She stared at him with wide eyes, one hand clutching the empty blanket while the other pulled it tightly.
This sight once again drew a loving smile from Qiu Hai. He took the empty cup from her and turned to place it on the table, slowly reaching into his pocket.
Autumn Wind remained motionless, watching Qiu Hai's actions as if he were performing magic. He pulled out an envelope seemingly from thin air, lightly tapping it before it landed on the low cabinet. Leaning closer to Autumn Wind, he spoke gently with a charming smile, "How about I accompany you to the mainland next month?"
Did he find out about Li Gu? What should she do?
Feeling anxious inside, she found herself nodding involuntarily.
