Xiao Lihua's movements were quick and fierce, and the slap she delivered to Auspicious's face was crisp and clear. Auspicious cried out in pain, covering her face as she stepped back a few paces. The Li Family fared even worse; Xiao Lihua kicked one of them in the leg, causing her to fall to the ground, clutching her leg and screaming in agony. Not yet satisfied, Xiao Lihua went up and kicked her twice more.
Xie Youshun watched Xiao Lihua beat them without intervening, holding a piece of wood coldly as he looked at the Li Family and Auspicious.
The child, Mu Tou, with tears welling in his big eyes, bit his small hand as he watched his mother fight. Shi Tou also looked on, feeling quite vindicated and wanting to kick them himself.
"Xiao Lihua! How dare you hit me! You wretched woman! What gives you the right to hit me?" Auspicious, still dazed from the earlier blow, snapped back to reality and shouted at Xiao Lihua, waving her arms as if to charge at her for revenge. However, she was met with another swift slap from Xiao Lihua on the other side of her face, causing her to cry out in pain while hesitating to approach further.
"I'm hitting you! You shameless pair! Coming into someone else's home to rummage through their things like thieves, and even hitting children! When caught, you still want to bite back—what kind of nonsense is this?"
Xiao Lihua kicked the Li Family member who was trying to get up again, glaring at them with disdain.
Finally managing to get up after much groaning, the Li Family member stood behind Auspicious. She was somewhat afraid of Xiao Lihua now; it seemed like she had improved in fighting. In the past, they had also fought back but Xiao Lihua only pulled hair and scratched faces—she never slapped or kicked anyone. Now she was so fast and precise that when the Li Family member tried to retaliate earlier, she couldn't even get up. Her leg hurt so much that she could barely stand. Looking at Auspicious's red handprints on both sides of her face made her think it was better to keep a low profile.
Auspicious shot a glare at the Li Family member, thinking how useless she was.
Xie Youshun sent Shi Tou to call people from the old house; he wouldn't keep this matter from them today. It was too outrageous, and there was no way to hide it—the sight of Auspicious's face and the Li Family member's limping leg would make it obvious. Shi Tou ran off quickly while both the Li Family member and Auspicious grew anxious. However, Shi Tou had already left; there was no calling him back now. The two of them resolved to grit their teeth and claim they were just looking for something here while saying that Xiao Lihua hit them. Who knew how things would turn out?
Seeing Xiao Lihua's face turn red with anger, Xie Youshun handed Mu Tou over to her so she could rest inside for a bit. He suggested they deal with the Li Family and Auspicious later when more people arrived.
Mu Tou softly said while hugging Xiao Lihua, "Mom, don't be angry. Mu Tou won't cry anymore."
"Mom will take care of it for Mu Tou; let them hit Mu Tou again—Mom will help you deal with them." Hearing her son's soft voice calmed Xiao Lihua down significantly. She glared at the Li Family and Auspicious before telling Xie Youshun, "Don't let them leave; we need to settle this properly today so they know our family isn't one they can bully whenever they want! And what about the Gold Ring? Two fools!"
Xiao Lihua took Mu Tou into the inner room and placed him on the kang before checking him for injuries. She asked if he had been hit and learned that the Li Family had twisted his ear and pushed him around. Her expression darkened further. Xie Youshun in the hall shared a similarly grim look.
The Li Family and Auspicious continued shouting at Xie Youshun, repeatedly claiming they had come looking for something and demanding he discipline his child and daughter-in-law properly. They insisted this matter wasn't over; not only did they want their Gold Ring back but also demanded medical expenses. However, under Xie Youshun's cold gaze, they gradually fell silent. Just as things quieted down, there was commotion outside Xie Youshun's door. Someone who saw Shi Tou running towards the old house asked what was going on; he simply said that Consort San and Aunt had rummaged through their home while his parents were away before running off. Many people heard this and exchanged glances before heading towards the West End of the Village.
Upon hearing Shi Tou's words, everyone from the Old House erupted into chaos and hurried over—none from the Wang Clan were left out either.
Seeing a crowd gathered outside his fourth son's home made Xie Shengcai's head ache; he thought that once again the Xie Family would be embarrassed. He felt angry with his eldest daughter for being chased back by her in-laws after costing them thirty taels of silver just yesterday—now trouble arose again; she truly was a troublemaker!
"Fourth Son! How dare you hit your sister-in-law?! Are you even human? If you don't give me an explanation today, I won't let this go!" Xie Youhe exclaimed upon seeing the Li Family sitting on the ground clutching their legs in pain.
Auspicious also ran up to the Wang Clan members covering her face in tears, claiming that Xiao Lihua hit her while Fourth Brother looked on without intervening.
The Wang Clan saw Auspicious's face swollen and knew how hard she had been hit. She started cursing Xie Youshun and wanted to rush into the house to settle accounts with Xiao Lihua. Just as she cursed Xiao Lihua, Xiao Lihua came out.
"You all came at the right time. Don't scold us just yet; first, ask me why I hit them. Once you understand, you'll know I went easy on them!"

Before Xie Youhe could respond in anger, Xie Shengcai asked, "Is it true that Auspicious really came to your house and caused trouble?"
Xie Youshun didn't answer; he simply lifted the curtain. When Xie Shengcai walked over to take a look, his expression worsened; the inside was already a complete mess.
A member of the Li Family said, "We didn't rummage through that room! They did it themselves because they didn't want to return Auspicious's Gold Ring!"
Xiao Lihua thought this person was truly shameless for biting back again.
Auspicious followed up on what the Li Family said, claiming that they didn't rummage through the room; they only came to ask for her Gold Ring after seeing Stone and Wood pick it up. When the two children refused to give it back, they scolded them a few times, and then Xiao Lihua protected the children and got into a fight with them.
