"Okay! Is this your Purple Flower?" The woman smiled and took out ten Purple Flower from behind the counter, handing them to Ling Mo Xie. She then collected the five Spirit Stone from the counter.
Ling Mo Xie glanced at her again, thinking to himself, what a difference this person makes!
Finally, only the Muxu Vine was missing. Ling Mo Xie looked around but did not see any Muxu Vine, so he had no choice but to ask the woman, "Why don't you have any Muxu Vine here?"
"Hehe," the woman chuckled softly, saying, "You've come to the wrong place. That Muxu Vine isn't even considered a level one Spiritual Medicine. You should be able to find it in the Market of the West District!"
Ling Mo Xie's face turned red; he really didn't know what levels these Spiritual Medicine were. He was just looking for names and pictures on the system menu.
"Thank you!" Ling Mo Xie said to the woman and turned to walk outside.
"Whoosh!" Just after Ling Mo Xie left, a teenage Little Girl ran up to the counter selling Purple Flower, panting and holding her stomach as she said to the woman behind the counter, "Miss! Thank you so much!"
"No problem! Are you feeling better? I just met an interesting person!" The woman turned around and helped the Little Girl back to the counter.
"Interesting person?" The Little Girl asked in confusion.
"Yes! I couldn't quite figure him out! He clearly came with a purpose to buy several kinds of Spiritual Medicine, unlike some commoners who just consume them directly. He seemed like an Alchemist, but strangely enough, he didn't even know about Muxu Vine, which isn't even considered a level one Spiritual Medicine. We don't sell that at our Spirit Herb Pavilion! This doesn't seem like something an Alchemist would do! Oh dear! How strange!" The woman clenched her small fist and tapped her head, unable to come up with a reasonable explanation, so she decided to leave it at that.
Upon arriving at the West District, Ling Mo Xie found it completely different from the other three districts. The houses were low, and the shops were shabby, unlike the other districts that were decorated lavishly! The people walking on the streets all looked haggard or wore frowns, unlike those in other districts who appeared spirited.
The Market in the West District was a bustling place and easy to find. Although it was his first time there, Ling Mo Xie quickly located it. The Market was quite chaotic, resembling a vegetable market from his past life, with many people spreading cloth on the ground and starting their sales.
In the market, there were all kinds of people: women carrying vegetable baskets, children with their hair styled in high buns running and jumping, adventurers passing by with Spirit Beasts, and vendors selling Spiritual Medicine in backpacks. This truly opened Ling Mo Xie's eyes!
"Muxu Vine, Azure Orchid! If you want some, come take a look! Don't miss out as you pass by!" A shout caught Ling Mo Xie's attention amidst the chaotic noise, prompting him to quickly walk toward the source of the voice.
"Hey! Young man! Looking to buy Spiritual Medicine? Take a look! This Spiritual Medicine was just picked from the mountains, its medicinal properties are intact and it's very fresh!" A lean middle-aged man with small eyes greeted Ling Mo Xie enthusiastically as he stopped at the stall.
Ling Mo Xie felt quite displeased by the man's shifty appearance but kept it to himself, reminding himself not to judge by looks. He replied calmly, "Hmm! I'll take ten Muxu Vines!"
"Alright! That'll be three thousand taels of silver!" The man swiftly wrapped up ten Muxu Vines and handed them to Ling Mo Xie.
"Silver?" Ling Mo Xie was taken aback; where would he get any silver?
Seeing Ling Mo Xie in a daze, the man's expression changed dramatically like a chameleon: "No silver? What are you buying Spiritual Medicine for then? Go eat shit!"
"Hmph!" Anger flared in Ling Mo Xie's eyes as he took out a Spirit Stone and slammed it against the man's chest. The immense force of the initial stage of enlightenment caused the man to stagger back a few steps.
Instead of getting angry, the man’s eyes lit up at the sight of the Spirit Stone. His gaze toward Ling Mo Xie became somewhat strange as he nodded and bowed, saying, "Sir! Sir, please forgive my rudeness! Here, this is your Muxu Vine. Take it! Ah, I can't make change for this Spirit Stone!"
Upon hearing this, Ling Mo Xie understood his meaning all too well. He scoffed lightly and said, "No need for change; consider it a reward for you!"
"Thank you! Thank you so much!" The man said with a flattering smile.
Ling Mo Xie ignored him and turned to leave with the Muxu Vines in hand.
"Hmph! It seems like this is another fat sheep!" After Ling Mo Xie left, a glint flashed in the narrow eyes of the man, and he muttered to himself.
The vendors nearby pretended not to see the scene, only casting a sympathetic glance at Ling Mo Xie's retreating figure.
This middle-aged man was nicknamed Greedy Rat, the small-time gang leader in the West City District Market. If anyone flaunted their wealth in this Market, they could expect to be thoroughly robbed by Greedy Rat.
Not far away, several vendors quickly packed up their stalls and approached Greedy Rat: "Big Brother! That kid is dressed well, and he just took out a Spirit Stone! Should we go after him for a score?"
"Hehe! Of course we should! If we don't, can I still call myself Greedy Rat? But, looking at how that kid treats Spirit Stones like they're nothing, I wonder if he has some big backing?" Greedy Rat squinted his small eyes and frowned.
"Cough! Big Brother, you're being too cautious! If he had any big backing, would he need to come personally to buy these things?" A tall, muscular man waved his hand and said.
"Exactly! Big Brother! Earth Dragon is right! Let's hurry up and follow him!" A lean man who looked like a monkey chimed in: "He looks no more than fourteen or fifteen years old; just us brothers going over would be more than enough!" These men were all between Foundation Establishment Level Nine to twelve, and in the slums, they relied on their cultivation to bully others.
"Alright! Then let's follow him!" After pondering for a moment, seeing his brothers eager to try, Greedy Rat decided not to hesitate any longer.
"Hmm?" As Ling Mo Xie walked along the road, he suddenly felt a sense of being watched. His brow furrowed as he became more alert. He wondered who it could be. Could it be that those so-called brothers of his had discovered that Chen Wen was dead at his hands and sent someone to assassinate him? It seemed that raising his cultivation level was becoming urgent!
Just as Ling Mo Xie reached a secluded alley, Greedy Rat jumped out with five or six men. "Kid! You have a lot of Spirit Stones! What’s wrong? Why not take some out to show respect for your older brothers?" Greedy Rat said with a grin, waving a Longsword in front of him, creating several sharp flashes of light. But compared to Nan Jianjun's sword aura, it was lacking significantly.
