Following the disciples of the Azure Emperor Sect, Shangguan Ying'er and Ling Mo Xie soon arrived at a lavishly decorated grand hall. At the head seat sat the leader of the Azure Emperor Sect, who was smiling warmly as he looked at Ling Mo Xie and Shangguan Ying'er as they entered.

Ling Mo Xie curled his lips and replied, "I don't see how he values me; it just feels like there's been too much talk. I always thought leaders were very busy..."
Hearing Mo Xie's words, Shangguan Ying'er shot him an unhappy glare. After all, even though there were scoundrels like Cang Qiningqi in their sect, it was still her own sect, and naturally, she felt a sense of collective honor. Being spoken about in such a manner by Mo Xie, who criticized the sect's leader, made Shangguan Ying'er quite displeased.

"Alright, don't be upset. Isn't your Azure Emperor Sect the best?" Mo Xie found it amusing how seriously Shangguan Ying'er was explaining herself and playfully patted her on the head.
Shangguan Ying'er felt her face flush; it seemed like she was forcing someone to praise her sect.
However, Mo Xie didn't dwell on that issue any longer and said to Shangguan Ying'er, "Xiao Chi took Chen Yan out to play. I wonder how they're doing. Why haven't they come back yet? Let's go check on them!"
It seemed that Shangguan Ying'er only then remembered Xiao Chi. After this exchange with the sect leader, quite a bit of time had passed, and she was starting to worry about Xiao Chi's absence. She quickly nodded in agreement.
Mo Xie wasn't concerned about Xiao Chi's safety; there was no need to mention how powerful Xiao Chi was, and Chen Yan was an ancient being who had reincarnated countless times. Even if her current cultivation was not very high, it was enough to handle most situations.

The direction Mo Xie pointed to was the opposite end of where they had entered the valley. If they continued walking that way, they would likely exit Menglan Valley and reach the other side.
"How do you know?" Shangguan Ying'er asked in surprise.
Mo Xie smiled proudly. "You wouldn't know this, would you? This is my special technique—only someone as impressive as me can learn it!"
Shangguan Ying'er looked at Ling Mo Xie’s smug expression and grabbed his arm, pinching it. "Tell me, what’s going on? How did you know?"
Seeing the curious light in Shangguan Ying'er’s eyes, Ling Mo Xie could only helplessly lower his head to look at her hand and said, "I always thought you were a refined young lady."
Following Ling Mo Xie's gaze, Shangguan Ying'er noticed that she was still pinching his arm. Her face turned red, and she quickly released him, stammering, "What do you mean 'thought'? I am one!"
Ling Mo Xie smiled and didn’t blame her. He gently pinched her cheek in retaliation and said, "It's simple. That kid Hong Chi has always been reckless and flamboyant. Look at the grass along the way; doesn’t it seem a bit dull and yellow?"
Shangguan Ying'er felt a bit embarrassed, but upon hearing Ling Mo Xie's explanation, she quickly looked at the grass and exclaimed, "It really does! Let’s hurry up and catch up with him. Behind Menglan Valley is a forest where there are said to be some Not Bad Spirit Beasts hidden inside. We mustn't let anything happen!"
"Heh heh, what could happen? If he doesn't get into trouble for me, I'd be very happy!" Ling Mo Xie said nonchalantly, but still led Shangguan Ying'er quickly along the traces left by Hong Chi.
Following the traces, they left Menglan Valley and entered the forest that Shangguan Ying'er had mentioned.
This forest was lush with tall trees; there were hardly any trees thinner than a water bucket. Each tree almost blocked out the sky.
Because of this, the ground rarely saw sunlight and inevitably appeared somewhat eerie, shrouded in a thin mist that was hard to tell if it was fog or miasma.
Due to the uncertain circumstances, Ling Mo Xie operated his Spiritual Energy and kept his mind ready to activate skills at any moment.
From time to time, they could hear distant beast roars and bird calls; aside from that, all they could hear was the sound of dry branches snapping under their feet.
Suddenly, a rustling sound came from nearby, causing Ling Mo Xie's heart to race. He turned his head to observe while also preparing his skills.
Strangely enough, he didn’t see any enemies or Spirit Beasts.
Just as Ling Mo Xie was puzzled, he suddenly felt something tighten around his ankle. He barely had time to react before he felt something wrap around his ankle and he was flipped upside down in an instant.
At almost the same moment, countless Green Vines flew out from who knows where, densely wrapping around Ling Mo Xie.
Ling Mo Xie almost instinctively used a skill against the Vines that were entangling his feet.
"Snap!" Fortunately, the Vines didn't seem too Not Bad, and were easily severed. Ling Mo Xie rolled over and landed safely, simultaneously throwing out another skill to break the Vines that had ensnared Shangguan Ying'er, helping her escape from their grasp.
"What are these?" Ling Mo Xie attempted to get an answer from Shangguan Ying'er.
"They are Spirit Beasts. They have a significant advantage in such dense forests. Although this one doesn't look too Not Bad and can be easily cut down, they have almost infinite vitality replenishment in this kind of jungle. We should hurry and get away from them," Shangguan Ying'er hurriedly explained to Ling Mo Xie.
"Alright!" Ling Mo Xie responded, using the skill Fleeting Light to increase his speed further.
He felt somewhat speechless; he hadn't expected there to be such Spirit Beasts. Initially, he thought about dealing with them since he had heard they were Spirit Beasts, but upon learning about their infinite vitality replenishment in the forest, he abandoned that foolish idea.
While Ling Mo Xie let the Vines go, those Vines did not intend to spare him. In their eyes, Ling Mo Xie was prey and their nourishment. Consequently, countless Vines quickly pursued him from behind, causing the forest to suddenly become chaotic.
"Whoosh!" Ling Mo Xie suddenly came to an urgent stop because those Vines, he didn't know when, had started flying towards him from the front, trapping him once again.
"Damn it! Just because I’m not showing my power doesn’t mean you can treat me like a sick cat!" Ling Mo Xie exclaimed in frustration. With a thought, a stunning Sword Light shot out, slicing through the approaching Vines. Those Vines were of low level, only level one hundred, and were easily shredded by Ling Mo Xie.
However, as Shangguan Ying'er had said, there was almost no pause; countless new Vines sprouted behind the severed ones and continued to attack Ling Mo Xie.
