The speed of the future world cannot be compared to the sluggishness of modern society. When Bai Tang and his group returned to Blue Star from the Black Market Star, everything was gathered except for the space fortress, including ten old-style mechas. These old mechas had a bulky appearance, all resembling beasts—five had a diamond-like appearance, while five resembled wolves. If not compared to the current mechas that are both visually and functionally perfect, they would certainly appear grand and imposing in the eyes of someone from the 21st century.
“Ding! Uncertainty factors have caused the complete opening of the passage between the future world and the real world, with time synchronized.”
Bai Tang looked at Karen, who had appeared with him in the abandoned warehouse. This guy was the uncertainty factor referred to by the system.

“Is it space jump technology?” the man asked.
Space jump technology, also known as jump gates, is constructed based on artificial wormholes formed by gravitational resonance in a binary star system. This resonance is equivalent to friction between gravitational waves of stellar bodies. The larger the mass, the stronger the resonance between them. The positions of planets in a star system and the complex structures of large planetary dust rings are influenced by this resonance phenomenon. Space jump technology combines two major technological elements: one is superluminal acceleration technology, and the other is the application of wormhole theory connecting two points in space. The first element enhances the output power of the spaceship's engine to its peak, accelerating its speed from sublight to light speed. This is useful for short-distance travel but not ideal for interstellar travel. The second element is relatively more dangerous, requiring a rift to be opened in the structure of space. This rift connects two distant yet related points in the universe, known as a "wormhole." Using Cybertron's star system grid map as a reference, the computer on board calculates the nearest relevant rift location that can reach the destination and travels there at light speed. Then it uses a space jump device to tear open a spatial rift, allowing the spaceship to pass through and reach its destination.
“No. This is not your world; it’s another time and space,” Bai Tang candidly told the man. After all, as long as his loyalty did not decrease, he would not betray him. It was better to share this secret with him to increase his loyalty.
“This is where I grew up; due to an accident, I obtained a system that allows me to traverse time and space. Besides my parents, you are the only one who knows this secret.”

Karen felt a sense of kinship with this master who was also struggling for his planet.
“Since you don’t like talking much, just stay silent and act cool when others ask you something…” Bai Tang kept advising Karen as they returned to Beijing Base.
In Bai Tang's gang's base were several practical and sturdy off-road vehicles; he took one out from inside. Karen proved himself as an elite from the future; after just a minute of understanding how cars worked, he could skillfully drive this ancient mode of transportation. Bai Tang sat in the passenger seat giving directions. They encountered quite a few zombies along the way; Bai Tang remained still while Karen dealt with them all effortlessly. With his level eleven martial arts skills, killing zombies was as easy as squashing flies for him. Those who saw him dispatch zombies were left dumbfounded; once they came back to their senses, they wanted to cling onto him for protection but unfortunately found he had already moved on.
At the entrance, Bai Tang called Tian Yuan; within ten minutes, Tian Yuan drove out from the base with Zhu Xu, Ou Haosheng, and Zhao Nan in tow. The two men lit up upon seeing Bai Tang and kept glancing into their vehicle.
“Bai Tang, was the transaction completed?” Zhao Nan asked eagerly yet discreetly.
Bai Tang smiled: “Everything is in my car; I’ll give it to you once we’re inside the base!”
“Right! Let’s go to the research institute!” Zhao Nan quickly agreed. The entrance was bustling with people; it wasn’t a suitable place for serious matters.
"Bai, why don't you ride with us? A lot has happened at the base since you left, and it’s just right for you," Ou Haosheng invited Bai Tang to take their car. In terms of appearance, their vehicle was more luxurious and comfortable compared to Bai Tang's.
Bai Tang nodded and instructed Karen, "You drive and follow us."
"This gentleman will come with us; let Zhu drive your car," Ou Haosheng said.
Bai Tang glanced at Zhu Xu and agreed, getting into Ou Haosheng's car with Karen. She understood Ou Haosheng's concerns about entrusting things to a stranger.
"Bai, who is this gentleman? Introduce him to us!" Ou Haosheng said with a smile. His eyes held a hint of suspicion towards Karen, as Karen had the appearance of a Westerner—his features were sharp, and although his hair was black, one eye was blue and the other green, with a hint of gold in his pupils, clearly not of Huaxia descent. Although humanity was busy dealing with zombies now, it was possible that some countries might take advantage of the chaos.
"His name is Karen Adrian; he is my companion!"
"Companion?" Ou Haosheng was surprised, unable to understand why Bai Tang would choose a foreigner as a companion. He worried that if the matter of aliens were discovered by other countries, Huaxia would lose its advantage. Could it be that Bai Tang's secret had leaked, and this man was a spy sent by another country trying to use charm against Bai Tang?

Karen remained silent as per Bai Tang's instructions. A chill passed through Ou Haosheng's eyes, increasing his dislike for Karen.
Bai Tang chuckled lightly, easing the suddenly tense atmosphere in the car: "Minister Ou, Karen isn't a real person. He is an intelligent robot sent by my Alien Friends as my bodyguard!"
"Huh? Not a real person?" Everyone in the car was startled and turned to look at Karen.
Karen calmly stared ahead while others scrutinized him. His owner had created an identity for him earlier; he didn't expect her to come up with such an excuse as an intelligent robot. It was surprising that these people believed it. In the future world, only low-intelligence AI robots were allowed to be manufactured; creating artificial intelligence with independent thought was prohibited due to historical lessons. In history, humans once created perfect artificial intelligence, which eventually rebelled against human control and subdued humanity until a heroic human sacrificed himself to destroy the AI and restore freedom. Since then, humanity had written this lesson into textbooks and no longer manufactured high-intelligence AI.
"Looks just like a real person; can't find any flaws!" Zhao Nan exclaimed. "Are you sure he's a robot?"
"I'm sure!"
Zhao Nan nearly drooled: "Bai Tang, can I study him for a bit?"
"No!" Bai Tang refused without hesitation, stating firmly: "Once Karen is activated, he essentially has life; he is independent. I cannot hand him over to you for research!"
"I see!" Zhao Nan felt disappointed as a research enthusiast.
"Is the Antidote Pill I gave you useful?" Bai Tang changed the subject.
"Useful, useful!" Zhao Nan and Ou Haosheng were both very happy about this.
Ou Haosheng said, "Your Antidote Pill is really effective against the zombie virus. Many of our comrades have been saved by the Antidote Pill and did not turn into zombies."
"What is the cure rate?" The Antidote Pill is not omnipotent; its effectiveness depends on the physical condition of the poisoned person. Those in good health will have better detoxification effects, while those in poor health will see a corresponding decrease in effectiveness.
