Recently, a lot has happened, and everyone felt that we should hold a family meeting to discuss things together. At first, everyone just expressed their concerns and dissatisfaction about how others were preparing.
"Big brother, can you really finish all those instant noodles you bought?" my younger brother complained as he looked at the mountain of noodles I had piled up.
"Well, they're all going to be eaten anyway. The earlier we prepare, the more at ease we will be," I replied casually.
"But with so many instant noodles, when are we going to finish them?" my brother continued to grumble.
"Haha, you could try eating ten packs a day; maybe you'll set a record!" I said with a laugh.
My brother rolled his eyes, which made everyone burst into laughter.
Then, my aunt started to chime in. "I say, Xiao Hao, do those anti-radiation suits of yours really work? Don't end up wasting space for something useless."
"Don't worry, Auntie. I've tested them; they work great!" I replied confidently.
"I think those things are just a scam. It would be better to stock up on more food," my aunt scoffed.
"Hey, hey, Auntie, you can't say that! These supplies were carefully selected by us; their quality is absolutely guaranteed!" my brother quickly defended me.
"Alright, alright. You young people know everything. I'm just an old lady who doesn't understand anything," my aunt feigned grievance.
"Auntie, don't say that! In fact, you have more beauty products than we have supplies!" my brother teased playfully.
"Hahahahaha!" Everyone laughed again.
We began to joke about each other's little flaws and habits, making the atmosphere even more relaxed. Our relationships grew closer, and our family became more united.
Scientists have discovered subtle changes in Earth's orbital path. This news was mentioned lightly in the media and did not attract much attention. But I noticed it. I began to stockpile supplies, formulate emergency plans, and prepare for everything.
However, others, including my neighbor Zhao Gang, were indifferent to all of this. They believed it was just unfounded panic and that there was no need to make a fuss about it. They continued to live their lives as usual, without any changes.
"Ah, I hope this is just a false alarm," I thought as I watched scientists discussing the situation anxiously on the news, silently praying. But I knew that some things were bound to happen.

Scientists had conducted detailed observations and calculations regarding this phenomenon, but the conclusions they reached were concerning.
"The recent increase in the Earth's orbital eccentricity could lead to a collision with nearby celestial bodies," the news anchor reported with a serious expression. However, the media seemed unwilling to let people worry too much and quickly shifted the tone: "But according to scientists' predictions, this possibility is very low, so there is no need for excessive concern." The anchor's lighthearted tone seemed intended to reassure the audience.
Yet, I could not feel at ease. Because I knew that scientists' predictions were not always accurate.
