Li Rui moved with a lightness that made every action seem effortless, as if afraid of making a misstep. He extended his arm and gripped tightly, his ankle flexing as he climbed over a slope. Immediately after, he faced an even steeper incline. With his hands on the ground and his waist straightened, he pushed himself forward, struggling to make progress up the slope.
At that moment, Li Rui reached a steep, earthy-yellow hillside. It was not just steep; it could be described as sheer.
The soil of this earthy-yellow hillside was loose. As soon as Li Rui stepped onto it, he sank in. Not only that, but while there had only been some small stones falling before, now large clumps of earth were tumbling down into a hole below, creating a series of urgent sounds: "crash, rumble, boom."
Cold sweat broke out on Li Rui's body as he thought about what would happen if he disturbed the Crimson Dragon Beast sleeping below. Would he be able to escape unscathed?
Suddenly, Li Rui slipped; his right foot lost its grip, and several large rocks tumbled down the steep slope with a loud noise, followed by a series of piercing screams ringing in his ears.
Terrified, Li Rui scrambled up the stone steps and dashed toward the cave entrance. Lightning Weasel and Old Monster were also startled, their fur standing on end as they clung tightly to Li Rui's shoulders.
Unexpectedly, Li Rui had indeed disturbed the slumbering Crimson Dragon Beast. Faced with numerous Crimson Dragon Beasts, Li Rui felt a chill run down his spine.
Hearing the frantic cries from behind him, Li Rui had no choice but to use his wings. Although the path was winding and rocky, he flew while turning sideways to avoid obstacles and headed for the cave entrance.
With a swift motion, Li Rui flew out of the cave, leaving behind a trail of white light under the sun's rays.
Following closely behind were several large Crimson Dragon Beasts, their eyes filled with malice and bloodlust. They took to the air with powerful wings, creating immense gusts of wind that caused ripples in the surrounding space.
A sense of urgency gripped Li Rui, causing his brows to furrow as his mind raced for ways to escape.
The enraged Crimson Dragon Beasts behind him unleashed jets of fiery magma. The last few followed suit, sending bright columns of fire shooting into the air accompanied by deafening roars.
With a flick of his wings, Li Rui dodged one column but felt his strength waning. Realizing that his energy was nearly depleted, he quickly retrieved a bottle containing Spiritual Water, gulping down several mouthfuls. Instantly revitalized, he accelerated again with his wings to evade the fire attacks.
The fire columns from the Crimson Dragon Beasts were no joke; those that missed Li Rui crashed into the primordial forest below like powerful explosives, igniting sparks everywhere. Soon after, a raging inferno erupted uncontrollably.
At this point, Li Rui could no longer afford to simply evade; he needed to take initiative. By controlling the situation, he would have a chance at survival.
He dashed towards the forest at the speed of light, his hands clasped together and raised above his head, slicing through the towering trees like a rocket as flames erupted. Several ancient trees, engulfed in flames, were uprooted by Li Rui and quickly shot into the sky.
Immediately after, Li Rui pushed the burning trees into the entrance of the Red Dragon Beast's cave.
Inside, although it was damp and lacked combustible materials, the fire from the Red Dragon Beast was exceptionally fierce, using its own body as fuel. Smoke billowed up, accompanied by hoarse cries.
The entrance rumbled as the Red Dragon Beast could no longer withstand its own flames and scrambled out of the cave.
Seizing the opportunity, Li Rui flew under a massive stone to evade the fierce attacks from the other Red Dragon Beasts.
This stone seemed to be the Millennium Stone, incredibly solid and capable of withstanding the fire blasts from the Red Dragon Beasts.
It should have cracked instantly, but its strength surprised the Red Dragon Beasts, prompting them to intensify their firepower as waves of flames surged forth.
Li Rui felt a heat rising behind him; the scorching flames were nearly cooking the Millennium Stone, yet it showed no signs of cracking and remained steadfast.
One of the Red Dragon Beasts could no longer bear it. It leaped into the air, claws extended, charging toward the stone. Li Rui noticed a shadow approaching from below, blocking out the sunlight above him.
The Red Dragon Beast grasped the massive stone and flapped its wings vigorously; its powerful claws gripped tightly as it lifted the stone effortlessly.
Li Rui broke into a cold sweat. How could this stone weigh tens of thousands of kilograms and yet be lifted so easily by a Red Dragon Beast? He shuddered at the thought of facing it head-on.
Li Rui dodged swiftly, taking flight into the air. He glided smoothly while being pursued by the relentless Red Dragon Beast still clutching the giant stone.
In mid-air, Li Rui's agile form contrasted sharply with the colossal beast holding onto the massive rock, creating a scene that was both astonishing and comical.
As he flew gracefully, Li Rui quietly activated his weapon; it was time to test its power in battle. The moment he drew it, it radiated brilliance. Channeling his true energy, he turned around for a strike. A massive wave of white surged forth with tremendous force, causing even the surrounding air to ripple. The Red Dragon Beast couldn't withstand this onslaught; it leaned back before crashing to the ground like a lifeless creature, barely clinging to life.
Just then, another Red Dragon Beast attempted to struggle out of the cave when that massive stone landed perfectly at the entrance, blocking it completely. The remaining Red Dragon Beasts inside were still writhing in confusion; due to the cave's winding paths, if they forced their way out, they risked losing their wings. One determined beast exerted all its strength to charge at that stone. Seeing this, Li Rui used the Four Symbol Respecting Cauldron to block it without unleashing its full power. Inside, witnessing their world outside being scorched was truly tragic!
The remaining Crimson Dragon Beasts at the cave entrance soon fled into the cave, flapping their wings. Their bodies were like a mountain of flames, and the surging waves of fire could not extinguish them. Suddenly, a large group of Crimson Dragon Beasts became a ball of fire.
Li Rui was overjoyed upon seeing this; it was clearly part of his premeditated plan—this was a conspiracy.
One of the Crimson Dragon Beasts was stunned, having personally killed its own companions. Inside, there were hundreds of Crimson Dragon Beasts, all highly skilled and powerful, some even being its parents.
Outside, the Crimson Dragon Beasts gathered together, preparing to attack; this was their last hope to save their companions.
Li Rui was not to be outdone either, wielding his weapon with determination. He then used the Yin Yang Bagua Palm technique, silently reciting in his heart.
With a loud shout, he unleashed a palm strike. A massive Yin Yang palm shot towards the charging Crimson Dragon Beasts in the distance, instantly sending several of them flying away.
Seeing their companions being roasted alive while they were helpless, those few Crimson Dragon Beasts felt both anger and despair. They launched several attacks in succession, all of which were thwarted by Li Rui.
Meanwhile, the situation inside the cave was even more critical; several Crimson Dragon Beasts had already been roasted to death, with only a few still struggling with their last breaths. Then, flames spread throughout the entire cave, leading to the complete annihilation of the Crimson Dragon Beasts!
Afterward, Li Rui reached out and personally plucked five Dragon Fruits, his eyes shining with excitement!
