The spring rain fell gently, bringing a vibrant life yet carrying the chill of late winter that seeped deep into the heart. 0

Three days had passed in search, but there was still no news. 0

Shangguan Shaoyi looked up at the tranquil starry sky, where countless stars illuminated the battered earth. A light breeze brushed against his handsome face, causing the spring rain to fall upon his chiseled features. 0

A soft voice came from behind him, particularly pleasant to hear, "Shaoyi, you should eat something first; otherwise, how will you have the strength to continue?" 0

"Okay." He nodded and took the bowl of porridge that Cheng Mo had prepared. He took a casual sip and found it pleasantly sweet on his tongue. Cheng Mo watched him anxiously and said softly, "Is it too sweet? I might have added too much sugar." 0

"No, it's just right." He smiled and ruffled her hair, finishing the bowl of Sugar Porridge completely. 0

She felt as if he had returned to the time when they first met, completely closing himself off. She sighed, knowing he needed some quiet time now. With a gentle smile, she picked up the dishes and stepped out. 0

His tall figure stood before the window, bathed in moonlight, revealing an added layer of pain and sorrow, loneliness and grief. She rubbed her reddened eyes and quietly closed the door. 0

Deputy Officer Shen reported that there was still no news of Rong Yuqiao; even those young ladies who usually associated with her had no idea of her whereabouts. 0

He lit a cigar and exhaled wisps of blue smoke, filtering out the mixed thoughts in his mind. 0

"Have we searched Jin Yunqi's place?" he asked in a low voice. 0

Shen Mingliang nodded. "Yes! We searched! Nothing was found." He truly did not understand why the young commander had such a grudge against Miss Jin; to him, she seemed perfectly fine. 0

Shangguan Shaoyi extinguished the cigar butt and straightened his military uniform, his boots shining brightly. 0

"Let's go search again." He strode out of the room with his head held high, his dark eyes deep and serene. 0

"Shaoyi!" Cheng Mo rushed over to him, breathless but wearing a faint smile. "Xiao Jing came to report that Miss Rong has arrived." 0

Shangguan Shaoyi's eyes brightened. "Where is she now?" 0

"She's in the lobby; Xiao Jing has already gone to attend to Miss Rong." Cheng Mo took hold of his solid arm, her watery eyes shimmering. "You should go see Miss Rong; I'll call Mr. Rong and ask him to come over." 0

Shangguan Shaoyi nodded and headed downstairs with Deputy Officer Shen, his gaze drifting toward Rong Yuqiao's direction as he silently watched her. She seemed to sense his gaze and slowly lifted her eyes, causing both Shangguan Shaoyi and Shen Mingliang to pause in surprise. Those once lively eyes now lacked any color, hollow like a doll. 0

"Young Master..." Xiao Jing held the fruit plate, looking puzzled. "Miss Rong seems a bit off. I just brewed her favorite fruit tea, but she didn't drink any and knocked it all over. Also, her clothes are all torn; this is the new shawl I just put on her." 0

Shangguan Shaoyi furrowed his brows, still trying to sort out his thoughts when he heard Rong Hai's hurried footsteps. 0

"Yuqiao! I finally found you!" Rong Hai was so excited that he didn't notice Rong Yuqiao's abnormal state. 0

Shangguan Shaoyi removed the shawl from Rong Yuqiao, and everyone was stunned. 0

Her clothes were disheveled, her hair was a mess, and her body seemed to have been abused, covered in bruises. Worse still, her mind appeared to be unclear; her gaze was vacant and dazed, muttering incomprehensible words. 0

"What! What happened?!" Rong Hai rushed forward to support his daughter, but Rong Yuqiao suddenly pulled out a knife from somewhere and swung it at Rong Hai. Her voice was hoarse and drenched in cold sweat. "Don't touch me! No one is allowed to touch me!" 0

"Yuqiao! It's me! I'm your father; don't you recognize me?!" 0

"Go away!" She resembled a wounded beast, wary of anyone approaching her. Shangguan Shaoyi tried to get closer, but her eyes remained blank, and the knife pointed at him as she shouted, "Get lost!" 0

Cheng Mo Su had just come down the stairs and happened to see Rong Yuqiao in this frenzied state. Fearing for Shangguan Shaoyi's safety, she hurriedly grabbed his arm. 0

Shangguan Shaoyi glanced slowly at Cheng Mo Su with his pitch-black eyes. "Don't worry, I'm fine; saving Yuqiao is the priority." 0

"Shaoyi..." Cheng Mo Su anxiously clutched Shangguan Shaoyi's clothing, feeling scared. Seeing Rong Yuqiao like this made her think she might have gone mad. 0

Rong Yuqiao turned towards the source of the voice and saw Cheng Mo Su. Her vacant eyes showed surprise as all her consciousness began to coalesce. Gripping the knife tightly, she glared fiercely at Cheng Mo Su and lunged forward, shouting, "Die!" 0

Shangguan Shaoyi stepped in front of Cheng Mo Su to protect her from harm but didn't want to hurt Rong Yuqiao either, so he caught the blade with his hand. 0

Blood dripped down the blade, staining the white carpet a deep red. The drops formed a smile shape on the floor, shocking and heart-wrenching. 0

"Blood..." Rong Yuqiao murmured as she took a few steps back and fell to the ground. Her pupils gradually regained focus as memories of the past few nights flooded back into her mind. The unbearable fragments made it hard for her to breathe; her fingers dug painfully into her flesh, yet the sharp pain couldn't alleviate the torment within her heart. 0

"Daughter!" Rong Hai rushed over, tears streaming down his face. "What happened? Don't scare your father." 0

"Dad..." She murmured that word as tears rolled down her cheeks. 0

"Yes." Rong Hai was immensely relieved to see her regain consciousness and pulled her up, saying, "Let's go home." 0

Home... She stared blankly at her tattered clothes, her smile shattered. "Home... Does someone like me even deserve a home?" She slowly stood up but couldn't steady herself, stumbling backward and falling to the ground again. 0

"Yu Qiao!" Shangguan Shaoyi and Cheng Mo rushed over to help her. 0

Rong Yu Qiao's gaze lingered on Cheng Mo. She couldn't understand why, after enduring so much humiliation, Cheng Mo still stood happily beside him. 0

She didn't understand! 0

Thoughts raced through her mind. Since she didn't want to live anymore, she would do one last thing before dying. 0

Brother Ling... Goodbye. Dad... Goodbye. 0

She trembled as she stood up, her lips quivering, a strange smile on her face, her pupils wide open like a carnivorous flower about to bloom. "Cheng Mo! I have no grudge against you; why are you doing this to me?" 0

Cheng Mo was momentarily taken aback, wanting to ask for clarification, but Rong Yu Qiao seized the knife in her hand and plunged it directly into her heart. 0

The sky changed color; it was unclear whether it was stained with blood or blurred by sorrow. Cheng Mo felt dizzy, as if a massive rock were descending from above. Even though it hadn't crushed them yet, it hung ominously overhead, swaying precariously. 0
