Chapter 023: The Identity of Xie Yao
As the group continued to delve deeper into the gathering place of the Demon Beasts, they found the Six-Headed Four-Star Seven-Pointed Beasts all lying on the ground. Behind these six Demon Beasts, an Azure Giant Serpent was staring intently at a certain spot in the sky, its eyes filled with deep despair. Nevertheless, it was tightly coiling around another Azure Giant Serpent, rubbing against it.
Unlike the previous Azure Giant Serpent, this one had two black, towering antler-like protrusions growing from its forehead, which were two to three times larger than regular antlers. Looking around, there was no sign of the Three-Headed Four-Star Eight-Star Demon Beast mentioned by the Heavenly Kill Camp.
"This is a good opportunity. With the Four-Star Eight-Star Demon Beast absent and the Fourth Stage Perfection Demon Beast unable to break free, we should quickly deal with this Six-Headed Four-Star Seven-Pointed Beast," Zhang Tian said after observing the situation before him and making a swift decision.
"Alright, let's follow the Breakthrough Camp Commander's orders," Yang Chen agreed. Subsequently, the twenty-seven soldiers split into six groups, with four people tackling each Demon Beast. He helped Xie Yao to her feet, looking into her eyes and solemnly said, "I will not let you down!"
Under Yang Chen's orders, Xie Yao disguised herself as a Five-Star Battle Spirit. However, Soul was continuously suppressing the six Demon-faced Spiders. Do not naively think that over two hundred members of the Shadow Kill Puppet Corps could hunt down hundreds of second and third Fourth-Order Monsters. In the next second, Yang Chen appeared atop the female Azure Snake, (the one that had not advanced to fourth-stage perfection). The pitch-black blade known as Demon's Kiss fiercely stabbed into the left eye of the female Azure Snake, while the holy and compassionate blade called Angel's Sigh pierced into the right eye of the advancing Azure Giant Serpent. In a state of fear, the Azure Giant Serpent kept writhing but was too afraid to attack anyone else for fear of disrupting its male counterpart's advancement. Ignoring everything else, Yang Chen plunged both daggers into the eyes of the demon beast; this did not count as a backstab and caused no extra damage.
Pulling out his daggers, he then thrust them fiercely into the neck of the Azure Giant Serpent, drawing forth a spray of blood. Two seconds later, its neck was already in disarray; however, it remained fierce with rage burning in its eyes. Looking back at Lu Ying and others, he saw they had already hunted down one of the Demon-faced Spiders, now facing no pressure at all.
With a flick of his hand, Yang Chen summoned his Dragonweave Sword, directly swinging it forward and pinning it in front of the Azure Giant Serpent. He spoke in a deep voice: "Death Spike!
A golden halo enveloped an area of five hundred meters in radius, including the remaining five Demon-faced Spiders. Previously, Yang Chen did not summon the Dragonweave Sword because he wanted Lu Ying and the others to truly experience the strength of a Fourth-Stage Seven-Star Beast, which would benefit them in their future hunts for Demon Beasts. During this battle, they had already cultivated the seeds of synergy, understanding how to cooperate and when to strike at the most opportune moments.
However, if they had weakened their attributes by 10% from the beginning, they would not have achieved such an effect now.
