This poem was written by the Tang Dynasty poet Zu Yong, depicting the scene of the poet looking at the remaining snow from Zhongnan Mountain, expressing his appreciation for nature and his feelings about seasonal changes. 0
"Zhongnan Yin Ridge is beautiful": The poet describes the picturesque scenery of Zhongnan Mountain; "Yin Ridge" refers to the northern slope of the mountain, which receives less sunlight, hence the name "Yin." 0
"The accumulated snow floats at the cloud's edge": The thick snow on the mountain seems to float in the clouds, with "floating at the cloud's edge" describing how the snow rises high, close to the sky. 0
"The treetops shine with clear sky color": After the snow, when the sky clears, sunlight shines on the treetops, presenting bright colors; "clear sky color" refers to the colors seen in sunny weather. 0
"In the city, the evening chill increases": Despite the clear weather after the snow, as evening falls, the chill in the city becomes more pronounced; "increasing evening chill" expresses the cold that comes with sunset. 0

Through this depiction of Zhongnan Mountain's post-snow scenery, the poem conveys the poet's admiration for winter's snowy landscape and sensitivity to seasonal changes. The language in this poem is concise yet vivid, making it one of Zu Yong's excellent works in describing natural scenery. 0

Story Title: Zu Xiaoyong's Winter Adventure 0

Winter has arrived, and snowflakes are swirling outside, covering the earth in a silver blanket. 0
I put on my warm cotton coat, donned my hat and gloves, and decided to venture outdoors. 0

On the way to the snowy landscape, I encountered an elderly man. He was taking a walk. When I met him, he was admiring the snow scenery. Upon seeing me, the old man waved and said, "Young man, come over here!" I walked over quickly and saw him pointing ahead with his finger. He said, "Look, this snow scene is truly beautiful!" 0

Standing side by side with the old man in front of the snowy view, I closed my eyes and felt the beauty of winter. I heard the old man's voice beside me: "Once there was a poet named Zu Yong. After seeing the snow scenery, he wrote a famous poem called 'Zhongnan Mountain.'" 0

Curiously, I asked, "What is this poem about?" The old man slowly explained to me: "This poem depicts Zu Yong admiring the snow scenery on Zhongnan Mountain. He wrote, 'The beauty of Yin Ridge is unparalleled; the accumulated snow floats above the clouds,' meaning that the northern ridge of Zhongnan Mountain is exceptionally beautiful, with snow drifting above the clouds." 0

I listened quietly and couldn't help but develop an interest in this poem. The old man continued, "This poem holds an important place in Chinese poetry history; it opened a new chapter in Tang Dynasty landscape poetry." 0

"Grandpa, I want to write it down," I said. Hearing my thought, the old man smiled and replied, "That's great, young man. We should engage more with ancient culture and draw nourishment from it." 0

Together with the old man, we set off towards Zhongnan Mountain. Along the way, we admired the beautiful snowy scenery and felt the tranquility of winter. The old man's narration deepened my understanding of ancient poets and their works. 0

As we continued forward, the snowy landscape around us kept changing, bringing endless joy and peace to our hearts. We arrived at the foot of Zhongnan Mountain together. I looked up and saw the mountaintop covered in white snow, shining brilliantly under the sunlight. I seemed to see the figure of poet Zu Yong standing atop the mountain, gazing down at the boundless snowy scenery in the distance. 0

My heart was captivated by the scene before me, and my emotions and courage flowed like a spring in the mountains. I wanted to climb this high mountain to appreciate the picturesque snowy landscape. A determined light sparkled in my eyes as I stepped onto the rugged path leading to the summit. 0

On the way back, both the old man and I felt joyful and satisfied. The cold of the winter evening gradually set in, but I felt none of it; my heart burned with love for the snow scenery and anticipation for the future. The old man's companionship and guidance taught me much about poetry and painting, deepening my understanding and appreciation of nature's beauty. 0

When we reached a fork in the road, we politely bid each other farewell and returned to our warm homes. Back home, my heart was filled with nostalgia for the snowy landscape and excitement for what lay ahead. I decided to pick up my brush and, like Zu Yong, capture this beautiful snowy scene on canvas so that more people could experience the charm of winter. 0
