Yin Luo glanced at him expressionlessly and walked away.
They say a woman's heart is as hard to fathom as the depths of the sea, and this man's thoughts were equally perplexing and inexplicable!
In fact, she was already extremely tired!
She and He Xin stood outside the living area in the training ground. The night was deep, and Yin Luo leaned against the central platform, her eyes half-closed with fatigue. After a moment, He Xin spoke up, "If the princess is tired, you can lean back and take a nap. The prince usually inspects the barracks until late at night; he won't be out anytime soon."
Yin Luo kept her eyes closed and replied, "I can sleep like this. I used to rest like this when I was too tired. You don't need to call me princess; didn't your prince say that from now on, I'm just like you? You can call me Yin Luo."
She lifted her head to look at He Xin. In the moonlight, her fair face seemed to glow, and her long eyelashes resembled wings, casting shadows over her dark eyes. She appeared extremely cold yet breathtakingly beautiful. He Xin hurriedly lowered his head and said, "I dare not. To the prince, you hold the same status as us, but to us, you will always be our master. I cannot overstep my bounds."
Yin Luo watched him for a moment as he kept his head down without saying anything. When He Xin finally looked up again, he saw that she had already closed her eyes once more.
He quickly shifted his gaze away towards the exit of the living area and took a few steps back, standing quietly there while keeping watch over Yin Luo and waiting for Mu Changqing to come out.
As He Xin had said, in the deep autumn night, when the moon was high overhead, Mu Changqing finally emerged with He Ren. It was already early morning the next day. The three men showed no signs of fatigue at all. Meanwhile, Yin Luo had opened her eyes as soon as she heard the commotion; her expression was clear and bright, indicating that she had merely been resting successfully.
Mu Changqing didn't even glance at her and directly instructed his subordinates, "Set off immediately; we must return to the residence before dawn for court."
The two men acknowledged him and swiftly mounted their horses. Yin Luo followed behind them. Mu Changqing turned back to glance at her before saying, "He Xin, you are responsible for escorting her back to the residence. He Ren and I will leave first."
That glance was filled with a warning, as if to say that if she dared to escape again, she should consider the consequences.
Yin Luo returned a detached look, while Mu Changqing's gaze turned cold. He then turned and flicked the whip, urging the horse to gallop swiftly into the darkness.
Due to the urgency, his horse was extremely fast, and soon he and He Ren disappeared into the night. He Xin let Yin Luo ride ahead while he followed behind. This time, Yin Luo did not attempt to escape; in fact, she had no plans to flee for now. Seeing that she behaved normally throughout the journey, He Xin finally felt relieved and safely escorted her back to the Wangfu.
By the time they arrived at the Wangfu, the sky had brightened, but it was still early. Apart from the early-rising servants and the steward, there were no other people in sight.
However, as they made their way to Cold Jade Garden, Yin Luo could still sense fear and trepidation from the actions of those servants. It was evident that news of yesterday's events had spread, leading to their reactions.
But this was also good; having established an aura of intimidation upon entering the estate would make the path ahead much easier.
