"Banquet?" Yin Luo furrowed her brows. "Can I not go?"
Su Yi was taken aback and immediately felt awkward. "Your Highness... it was the Guard Commander who personally invited you."
He Ren and He Xin could get anyone to come!
Yin Luo glanced outside the tent but ultimately said nothing. After a moment of thought, she took a piece of paper, wrote a few words, folded it, and handed it to Su Yi. "If you see the Emperor during the banquet, give this to him."
Su Yi nodded without hesitation, and only then did Yin Luo feel reassured as she stepped out of the tent with He Xin.
What she didn't expect was that they were not heading in the direction of the banquet at all.
Outside the camp, two brown stallions stood ready, with Mu Changqing on one of them, tall and strikingly handsome. "Are you interested in going somewhere with me?"
Yin Luo glanced at him, her lips twitching slightly. Since he had already invited her, how could she refuse?
Without saying another word, she turned and mounted one of the horses. Mu Changqing smiled slightly, urged his horse forward, and they galloped into the dense forest, with Yin Luo closely following.
"No need to follow."
As they rode ahead, Mu Changqing instructed He Ren and He Xin behind him before leading Yin Luo straight toward their destination.
It was a cliff, strangely covered with various flowers and grasses. Beneath the thousand vines, the shape of the cliff was peculiar, resembling a bowl with a missing rim. However, that was not the most important part; looking down from the cliff felt as if the entire world was within reach, with lights that never dimmed, stretching for miles—a truly magnificent sight!
Accompanied by the fragrance of flowers and shadows of trees, with lights as scenery and strong winds as a backdrop, it indeed had its own charm.
Yin Luo raised her gaze towards Mu Changqing and asked, "How did you find this place? It doesn't seem like a spot you would enjoy."
Mu Changqing glanced at her; tonight he seemed different from usual, much gentler.
"I came here during the daytime while hunting. I thought it was nice—the view stretches for miles, making all the mountains look small. I figured you would like it."
Yin Luo was taken aback for a moment before bursting into laughter. She looked down at the mountains again and nodded in agreement, "It's not bad."
Mu Changqing's gaze softened even more as it fell upon the countless lights of the households below. Confidently, he said, "Of course, this is the Exiled Nation that I govern. The people live in peace and prosperity; naturally, it's quite good."
Yin Luo paused and looked at him. So he regarded these thousands of lights as his realm?
She said nothing; to her, who held power over the world mattered little. However, she couldn't help but think that since it was Mu Fengyan who sat on the throne, he should be the one who truly possessed the world!
A gust of wind blew through, carrying a bone-chilling coldness. Yin Luo suddenly startled and looked behind her, but the forest was pitch black, revealing nothing unusual. She turned her gaze back to Mu Changqing and followed his eyes to the endless scenery below the cliff. With a serious expression, she asked, "Did you notice anything different?"
Mu Changqing glanced at her; his eyes swept over her serious face before he replied calmly, "Just twenty or thirty people. Although their martial skills are decent, they are not a threat to me."
