In the afternoon, I went to the Xinglin Medical Hall again.
Xinglin Medical Hall is a private clinic run by a person from Vajra State.
The wounds on my body were treated at this clinic.
The wounds had been hurting a bit, so I came to change the dressing.
The doctor helped me re-treat the wounds, applied a new bandage, and also prepared some medicine for me to take home.
After leaving the clinic, I returned to the inn by myself.
As soon as I arrived at the entrance of the inn, I saw a black carriage.
Such carriages are extremely rare in present-day Xiazhu.
Not to mention ordinary people, even those wealthy individuals rarely afford such carriages.
So, when I saw this carriage, I couldn't help but take a closer look.
"Master Ye." At that moment, a voice called out from behind me.
I turned around and found a middle-aged man.
"Who are you?" I asked in confusion.
"I am Butler Qiu. My lady would like to invite Master Ye for afternoon tea," the middle-aged man said.
"Who is your lady?" I inquired.
"Madam Chen," Butler Qiu replied.
"Madam Chen?" I was slightly taken aback.
"Yes," Butler Qiu nodded.
"Is there something your lady wants to see me about?" I asked.
"Master Ye, our lady would like to invite you for afternoon tea," Butler Qiu said.
"That's it?" I was surprised.
"Yes," Butler Qiu nodded again.
"Alright," I thought for a moment and replied.
After all, I had nothing to do in the afternoon, so it was a good opportunity to meet this Madam Chen.
To be honest, I was quite curious about her.
This woman was very beautiful and came from a noble background; she was also the famous widow of Haining.
Such a woman would be liked by any man.
Butler Qiu led me to Madam Chen's residence.
It was a large courtyard with four entrances, covering a vast area.
Inside, it was very luxurious, with intricate carvings and paintings everywhere.
In the lawn, there was a huge pavilion.
Under the pavilion sat a woman.
The woman was wearing a white dress and had her hair adorned with golden hairpins.
She was sitting under the pavilion, sipping tea and reading a book.
This woman was Madam Chen.
Seeing Madam Chen, I felt a moment of distraction.
I had seen many beautiful women, but it was my first time encountering someone as graceful as Madam Chen.
Madam Chen noticed me and smiled, waving her hand in greeting.
I regained my composure and quickly walked over.
"Master Ye, please have a seat," Madam Chen said, pointing to the chair opposite her with a smile.
I nodded and sat down.
"Master Ye, would you like something to drink?" Madam Chen asked.
"I'll have a glass of water," I replied after thinking for a moment.
Madam Chen paused for a second and then burst into laughter.
"Master Ye, you are quite humorous," she said with a smile.
"Miss Cai, I'm not being humorous; I just don't want to drink anything else," I explained.
"Oh, I understand now," Madam Chen said, nodding with a smile.
Madam Chen picked up the teapot from the table and poured me a cup of tea.
I glanced at the teacup and then picked it up to take a sip.
"Good tea," I praised.
"Does Master Ye understand tea?" Mrs. Chen asked curiously.
"I know a little," I nodded.
"Then tell me, what kind of tea is this?" Mrs. Chen inquired.
"This is Tieguanyin," I replied with a smile.
"Master Ye really knows tea," Mrs. Chen complimented.
"Miss Cai is overpraising me," I waved my hand dismissively.
"Master Ye, I heard you are from Jianghan?" Mrs. Chen asked.
"Yes," I nodded.
"Then how did you come to Haining?" Mrs. Chen asked.
"I came to Haining to do business," I thought for a moment and said.
"Doing business? What kind of business?" Mrs. Chen asked curiously.
"Just some small trades," I smiled.
