"Um... can you help me with my wound?" Yan Jien said, feeling awkward.
"Ah? Oh!" Yan Weila finally reacted.
She saw Yan Jien lying on the ground, and the wound on his side was shocking!
"This..." Yan Weila felt a bit scared.
"Please..." Yan Jien forced a smile.
"Okay..." Yan Weila hesitated for a moment but eventually nodded.
She trembled as she picked up the scissors and cut open Yan Jien's shirt, tearing it into strips.
"Just bear with it..." Yan Weila whispered.
"Mm!" Yan Jien nodded.
Yan Weila used the scissors to gently cut open Yan Jien's pants, revealing the wound on his side.
Yan Jien's wound was very gruesome, bloody and mangled!
"Ah—" Yan Weila screamed in fright.
"You... are you okay..." Yan Jien felt embarrassed.
"I'm fine..." Yan Weila shook her head.
She forced herself to calm down, then picked up a towel and placed it over Yan Jien's wound, starting to bandage it.
Yan Jien lay on the ground while Yan Weila knelt beside him, their distance very close.
Yan Jien could even smell the faint fragrance emanating from Yan Weila.
However, Yan Jien did not like this scent; he found it somewhat pungent.
"All done..." Yan Weila said softly.
"Thank you..." Yan Jien expressed his gratitude.
He closed his eyes, avoiding looking at Yan Weila.
It wasn't that Yan Jien was shy; he was just afraid that if he stole a glance, he would be caught, and that would be awkward!
"Ah—" Yan Weila screamed again.
"What happened?" Yan Jien asked, surprised.
He opened his eyes and looked at Yan Weila with confusion.
"You... you..." Yan Weila pointed at Yan Jien, shocked and unable to speak.
"What’s wrong with me?" Yan Jien questioned, puzzled.
Following Yan Weila's gaze, he touched the wound on his face.
"Eh? It doesn't hurt anymore?" Yan Jien exclaimed in surprise.
He felt that the wound on his face was no longer painful; in fact, it was a bit itchy.
"Your wound... has healed..." Yan Weila said in astonishment.
"Really?" Yan Jien replied, astonished.
He took out his phone and used the screen to illuminate his face for a closer look.
Indeed, the wound on his face had scabbed over!
At this rate, it would probably be completely healed in just a few days!
"This..." Yan Jien was dumbfounded.
He had previously noticed that his wound was healing quickly, but he didn't expect it to be this fast!
"Yan Jien, who exactly are you?" Yan Weila asked tremulously.
"I..." Yan Jien hesitated.
He wasn't sure if he should reveal the truth; what if Yan Weila got scared and called the police on him?
"Yan Jien, please tell me..." Yan Weila pleaded.
What had happened today had completely overturned her worldview, leaving her feeling unprecedented panic.
"Alright... I'll tell you..." Yan Jien sighed.
He organized his thoughts and detailed how he had developed late-stage bone cancer and how he mutated into a "mutant" with special abilities.
"So, you're saying that you became like this because you got bone cancer?" Yan Weila asked in disbelief.
"Yes!" Yan Jien nodded.
"Are you still human now?" Yan Weila asked again.
"Of course!" Yan Jien replied confidently.
"But... why are your wounds healing so quickly? Humans can't do that!" Yan Weila said, puzzled.
"I don't know either..." Yan Jien smiled wryly.
"Did you become like this after being diagnosed with bone cancer?" Yan Weila asked curiously.
"Yes!" Yan Jien nodded again.
"Then how exactly did you become like this?" Yan Weila questioned, confused.
"I don't know..." Yan Jien smiled wryly again.
"So what were you planning to do tonight?" Yan Weila asked once more.
"I was planning to go into the mountains to hunt that Mutant Mouse, but something came up, and I had to turn back halfway..." Yan Jien explained.
"That Mutant Mouse was attracted by you?" Yan Weila was surprised.
"Yes..." Yan Jien said awkwardly.
"You..." Yan Weila gritted her teeth in anger, wishing she could punch Yan Jien.
"I'm sorry..." Yan Jien said apologetically.
"Forget it... I'm just glad I'm okay..." Yan Weila said helplessly.
"Um... can you keep this a secret for me?" Yan Jien hesitated for a moment before asking tentatively.
"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone!" Yan Weila assured him.
"Thank you..." Yan Jien expressed his gratitude.
"No need to mention it... but please don't bring any more Mutant Mice around casually in the future..." Yan Weila reminded him.
"Okay!" Yan Jien nodded quickly.
"By the way, do you think that Mutant Mouse will come back?" Yan Weila asked worriedly.
"It shouldn't... it was seriously injured, so it should stay away from here for a while..." Yan Jien thought for a moment and gave his judgment.
"That's good to hear..." Yan Weila sighed in relief.
"However... we cannot rule out the possibility of it coming back..." Yan Jien said again.
"Huh? What should we do?" Yan Weila asked in a panic.
"You don't need to be afraid. Just make sure to close the doors and windows tightly when you go to sleep at night!" Yan Jien reassured her.
