The news of Fang Yuejin's disappearance reached Yan Jien the next morning. He hurried to Tongshuyuan Reservoir, where he found Fang Yuejin's mother, Yan Li, and Fang Yuejin's grandmother by the water's edge.
"Where is Yuejin?" Yan Jien asked.
"I don't know! I can't get through on the phone, I'm so worried!" Yan Li exclaimed, pacing anxiously.
"Yuejin's car is parked over there, but he's nowhere to be found!" Fang Yuejin's grandmother pointed to a pine tree near the reservoir.
Yan Jien turned to look and indeed saw Fang Yuejin's van parked under the tree. He furrowed his brow. Fang Yuejin was usually calm and composed; he wouldn't just disappear without reason. Since his car was here, he must be nearby!
Yan Jien scanned the area and noticed many chaotic footprints by the reservoir, suggesting a fierce struggle had taken place.
"Have you called the police?" Yan Jien asked.
"Yes, they are already searching," Yan Li replied.
Just then, several speedboats approached from the middle of the reservoir.
"Have you found anyone?" Yan Li rushed to meet them.
"No," the people on the boat shook their heads.
"Was Yuejin's phone connected?" Yan Li asked again.
"No," they shook their heads once more.
"..." Yan Li nearly collapsed in despair.
Yan Jien frowned as he looked around and suddenly his gaze fell on a sunshade on the shore. It was equipment that Fang Yuejin used for recording his shows.
"It seems Yuejin left his phone by the reservoir," Yan Jien said.
"What?" Yan Li paused for a moment before realizing, "Could it be that Yuejin drowned?"
"..." Yan Jien's brow tightened as he quickly walked over to the sunshade, checked it thoroughly, and confirmed that Fang Yuejin's phone was indeed left underneath it.
"The phone is here, so Yuejin should be nearby!" Yan Li said urgently.
"Yes," Yan Jien nodded. He picked up the camera next to the sunshade and noticed it was out of battery.
"This camera is for recording the show, right? Hurry up and take it home to charge, let's see what content is inside!" Yan Li said anxiously.
"Okay," Yan Jien nodded.
Yan Jien picked up the camera and followed Yan Li as they walked toward her house.
He vaguely guessed that Fang Yuejin had likely entered Yinshan Ridge!
Because Fang Yuejin had called him yesterday, asking him to come to the reservoir to record a show today, but he had gone missing this morning.

Soon, both Yan Li and Grandma of Fang Yuejin returned home.
Yan Jien quickly slipped out of the village and headed toward Yinshan Ridge along the creek.
As he walked, he sniffed the air for any scents.
Before long, he found the thicket where Fang Yuejin had met Xiao Wanzi.
Yan Jien sniffed around and noticed that Fang Yuejin's scent lingered there for a while before moving upstream.
Yan Jien hurriedly followed the trail.
He quickly made his way upstream along the creek.
Before long, he arrived at a grove of oil pines nearby.
Yan Jien sniffed again and realized that Fang Yuejin's scent had entered from here!
"Sure enough, he went into Yinshan Ridge!" Yan Jien exclaimed in shock.
He hurriedly ran into the pine forest.
The pine forest was very dense, with a thick layer of pine needles covering the ground, making it soft to walk on.

He looked around and realized that this was a small hillside with few trees, only a sparse scattering of pines standing here and there.

He quickly ran to the middle of the hillside to check but found no bodies.
"Could they have been dragged away by Wild Dog?" Yan Jien was alarmed.
He quickly expanded his search area, but after searching the entire hillside, he still couldn't find Fang Yuejin's body!
"Where could they have gone?" Yan Jien was extremely anxious.
Just then, his phone rang.
Yan Jien picked up his phone and saw that it was a call from Yan Li.
"Xiao Nuo, where are you?" Yan Li asked.
"I'm outside Yinshan Ridge looking for Yuejin," Yan Jien lied.
"Don't go in there, it's too dangerous!" Yan Li hurriedly said. "I just turned on the camera, and I recorded footage of Yuejin!"
"What footage?" Yan Jien asked, puzzled.
"Yuejin took Xiao Wanzi into Yinshan Ridge, saying he was going to catch Wild Dog!" Yan Li replied.
"..." Yan Jien was speechless; Fang Yuejin was really being reckless by taking Xiao Wanzi to catch Wild Dog!
"Xiao Nuo, do you think Yuejin will be eaten by Wild Dog?" Yan Li cried.
"No way!" Yan Jien comforted her. "You know Yuejin's skills, right? A mere Wild Dog can't hurt him!"
"But... his phone and water cup were left by the reservoir, and he's nowhere to be found!" Yan Li sobbed.
"He might have left his phone and water cup there and gone into Yinshan Ridge himself," Yan Jien said.
"Really?" Yan Li asked, half-convinced.
"Really," Yan Jien nodded.
"Then... you need to hurry and find him!" Yan Li urged.
"Okay," Yan Jien nodded and hung up the phone.
He looked around and noticed that Fang Yuejin's scent had disappeared, leaving him with no way to track him.
"What should I do?" Yan Jien was extremely anxious.
He scanned the surroundings and suddenly spotted a mountain peak in the distance.
That peak was called Dashi Village, the highest mountain in Yinshan Ridge.
"Maybe Yuejin went there!" Yan Jien's eyes lit up.
He determined the direction and ran towards Dashi Village.

At that moment, while Yan Jien was heading to Dashi Village, Fang Yuejin and Xiao Wanzi were lying on a ridge not far from Dashi Village.
