Yan Jien drove from his hometown to the county town, where he bought some goat milk and a syringe to feed the four puppies. He also purchased a small cage to temporarily house the puppies in the trunk of his car.
"I wonder how Fang Yuejin is doing?" Yan Jien hesitated for a moment before calling Yan Li and then drove to the county hospital.
At the hospital, Yan Jien saw Fang Yuejin. At that moment, Fang Yuejin looked very miserable, with bandages wrapped around him and multiple wounds on his face. Fortunately, he had not sustained any life-threatening injuries; he had simply lost too much blood and was unconscious, but he would recover after some rest.
"Yan Jien, thank you," Fang Yuejin said gratefully as he looked at Yan Jien. If it weren't for Yan Jien today, he would have been in serious trouble.
"You're welcome," Yan Jien waved his hand dismissively. After exchanging a few pleasantries, Yan Jien prepared to take his leave.
"Um... what about Xiao Wanzi?" Yan Jien asked casually.
"Alas," Fang Yuejin sighed. "Xiao Wanzi is too severely injured; the doctor said she won't survive." Yan Li, standing nearby, wiped her tears.
"What about the puppies she gave birth to?" Yan Jien inquired.
"The puppies are too small and without their mother's milk; they definitely won't survive," Fang Yuejin shook his head.
"I see," Yan Jien thought to himself with a hint of joy. The puppies were in his car, but he couldn't take them out just yet.
After chatting with Fang Yuejin and his wife for a while longer, Yan Jien stood up to leave. He drove towards Nanquan City.
On the way, he checked on the four puppies again; they were in much better condition than before, but they were still far from fully recovered. They needed a long period of quiet rest.
Yan Jien drove swiftly and arrived in Nanquan City by eight o'clock in the evening.
"Uncle Yan Jien, why is there noise coming from your trunk?" Dou Dou asked curiously upon hearing sounds from the back of the car.
"Cough, cough, it's nothing." Yan Jien coughed awkwardly a couple of times.
"What is it? What is it?" Dou Dou blinked her big eyes, curious.
"Well... Uncle told you, you mustn't tell anyone, okay?" Yan Jien thought for a moment and decided not to hide it from Dou Dou.
"Mm-hmm, I definitely won't tell anyone!" Dou Dou nodded repeatedly.
"Uncle has a few puppies in the trunk." Yan Jien said.
"Wow, puppies!" Dou Dou exclaimed in delight.
"Shh—" Yan Jien made a gesture for silence.
"Mm-hmm." Dou Dou nodded eagerly, lowering her voice, "Can I touch the puppies?"
"Of course you can." Yan Jien replied with a smile.
He opened the trunk and took out the four little puppies.
"Wow, such cute puppies!" Dou Dou was extremely excited.
She reached out her small hand to pet the little puppies, her eyes filled with affection.
"Do you like them?" Yan Jien asked with a smile.
"Mm-hmm!" Dou Dou nodded repeatedly.
"Then let them play with you for a while, but not too long; they are still very weak." Yan Jien said.
"Mm-hmm." Dou Dou was thrilled.
Yan Jien placed the four little puppies beside Dou Dou and then drove towards the neighborhood.
Upon arriving at the neighborhood, Yan Jien helped Yan Weila carry the luggage into the house.
"Dou Dou, it's getting late; let the puppies rest and you can play with them another day," Yan Jien said to Dou Dou.
"Oh." Dou Dou reluctantly said goodbye to the little puppies.
Yan Jien took the four little puppies back to his home and settled them upstairs.
"These four little puppies are too weak; I'll wait until they grow a bit before giving them the mixture," Yan Jien thought to himself.
Next, he went downstairs and headed straight for Jinyuan Mountain.
He prepared to catch more animals to test the reaction of T Liquid on them. Soon, Yan Jien had caught over a dozen small animals, such as rabbits, mice, and snakes.
"Hmm?" Yan Jien suddenly heard a growl. He turned his head and saw a wild wolf staring at him from a distance!
"Just in time!" Yan Jien exclaimed with joy. He had been worried about not finding a wolf, and now he encountered one!
"Whoosh!" Yan Jien charged straight at it.
"Roar!" The wild wolf lunged at Yan Jien.
"Bang!" Yan Jien punched the wolf on the head, knocking it out cold.
"Haha, that feels great!" Yan Jien laughed heartily. He dragged the wolf deep into the forest and injected it with T Liquid.
"Now the concentration of T Liquid is 1:500; it should be just right for the wolf," Yan Jien thought to himself.
Next, Yan Jien injected all the rabbits, mice, and snakes with 1:500 of T Liquid.
"Let’s observe their changes first; if everything goes well, we can start mass production!" Yan Jien said excitedly.
He stayed in the forest for over an hour, watching the changes in the animals. The results were gratifying; none of the animals seemed harmed, and they appeared more energetic than before!
"Success!" Yan Jien cheered. He took out his phone to share the good news with Deng Kaiwen.
"Hmm?" Just then, Yan Jien received a call from Yan Weila.
"Yan Jien, you need to come to my house right away!" Yan Weila's voice was filled with urgency.
"What happened?" Yan Jien frowned slightly.
"One of the puppies seems to be acting strangely!" Yan Weila said worriedly.
"What?!" Yan Jien's expression changed as he hurried towards the laboratory.
