"Brother Yan Jien, how did you do that?" Tong Liya couldn't help but ask.
"What do you mean?" Yan Jien replied, puzzled.
"I mean the way you looked just now, like a wolf," Tong Liya explained.
"Oh, you're talking about that." Yan Jien smiled and said, "That's called transformation. Do you want to learn?"
"Yes, yes!" Tong Liya nodded eagerly.
"Then listen carefully," Yan Jien said slowly. "First, you need to imagine in your mind what you want to transform into, and then immerse yourself in that image."
"Huh?" Tong Liya was taken aback.
"Does it sound a bit mystical?" Yan Jien chuckled.
"Yes," Tong Liya nodded.
"It's actually quite simple," Yan Jien explained with a smile. "Just think of it as dreaming."
"Dreaming?" Tong Liya blinked.
"Exactly," Yan Jien nodded and said, "Now close your eyes and imagine you are a female wolf."
Following Yan Jien's instructions, Tong Liya closed her eyes and tried to visualize.
After a moment, she opened her eyes.
"How was it? Did you succeed?" Yan Jien asked expectantly.
"No," Tong Liya shook her head with a wry smile.
"That's okay," Yan Jien comforted her. "Just try a few more times. Sit on the sofa first, and I'll teach you how to do it."
"Okay," Tong Liya nodded and walked over to sit on the sofa.
Yan Jien shared the meditation method with Tong Liya and guided her through it.
Tong Liya's first attempt at meditation was better than Yan Jien's initial experience.
"Liya, you did great," Yan Jien praised generously. "Even better than I imagined."
"Really?" Tong Liya said happily.
"Yes," Yan Jien nodded and said, "If you're ever feeling sad or anxious in the future, you can use meditation to relieve those emotions."
"Yes, yes!" Tong Liya nodded repeatedly.
"Also, you can directly engage in consciousness strengthening training," Yan Jien added.
"Consciousness strengthening training?" Tong Liya was astonished.
"It's what you just did—visualizing how you looked when you lost control to enhance your ability to control transformation," Yan Jien explained.
"I understand now," Tong Liya nodded and said, "I'll give it a try."
With that, Tong Liya closed her eyes again.
This time, it took her a minute to complete the visualization.
"How was it?" Yan Jien asked with concern.
"It's hard to concentrate," Tong Liya frowned.
"Don't rush," Yan Jien comforted her. "First, develop the habit through drawing, and then move on to visualization."
"Okay," Tong Liya nodded.
"Shall we start the physical training now?" Yan Jien asked.
"Mm-hmm," Tong Liya nodded again.
Yan Jien wanted to see if Tong Liya's evolution process was exactly the same as his. If it was, he could arrange some physical enhancement training for her before her next meal, allowing her to practice properly.
"Brother Yan Jien, what do I need to do?" Tong Liya asked.
"Just follow my lead," Yan Jien replied.
"Alright," Tong Liya nodded.
The two began their training. Tong Liya's foundation was slightly stronger than Yan Jien's had been initially, but not by much. Yan Jien estimated that once he finished eating that goat rabbit, he would complete his first evolution. As for Tong Liya, it would likely take her a bit longer.
...
Around four in the afternoon, the doorbell suddenly rang. Yan Jien walked over to open the door and found a young girl standing there.
The girl looked about twenty years old, wearing very short shorts that showcased her long, beautiful legs.
"Who are you looking for?" Yan Jien asked, puzzled.
"Is Tong Liya living here?" the girl smiled sweetly and asked.
"Are you... Ma Yun?" Yan Jien guessed.
"Yes," the girl nodded and said, "I'm a good friend of Liya."
"Then come in," Yan Jien stepped aside and invited her in.
"Thank you," Ma Yun said politely.
Once inside, Ma Yun began to look around curiously.
"Stop looking," Yan Jien said casually. "Liya is in the attic."
"Oh," Ma Yun laughed awkwardly.
Soon after, Tong Liya ran down from the attic. She was dressed casually and looked very simple.
"Liya, you live here?" Ma Yun exclaimed in surprise.
"Mm-hmm," Tong Liya nodded.
"You really are low-key," Ma Yun teased.
"Let's go talk outside," Tong Liya said, pulling Ma Yun along.
The two women walked around the neighborhood for a while and returned just as it was getting dark.
"Brother Yan Jien, Ma Yun and I are going to Jubao Peak to have some fun," Tong Liya said.
"Alright," Yan Jien nodded, reminding them, "Be careful."
"Mm-hmm," Tong Liya nodded repeatedly as she ran out with Ma Yun.
Watching the two women's figures disappear, Yan Jien closed the door and went into the attic.
He guessed that Tong Liya must have revealed some things to Ma Yun on WeChat. Otherwise, Ma Yun wouldn't have come over and immediately taken Tong Liya to Jubao Peak.
However, Yan Jien wasn't worried; Ma Yun was just an ordinary person and couldn't harm Tong Liya.
...
Around seven o'clock in the evening, Tong Liya and Ma Yun returned to Jubao Huayuan.
"Brother Yan Jien, we're back," Tong Liya shouted.
"Back already?" Yan Jien came down from the attic, puzzled. "Why so soon?"
"It got too dark to see," Tong Liya explained.
"Oh," Yan Jien realized.
"Brother Yan Jien, I'm going to cook," Tong Liya said.
"No need," Yan Jien waved his hand and said, "You two go have fun; I'll handle it."
"Is that really okay?" Tong Liya hesitated.
"There's nothing wrong with it," Yan Jien smiled and said, "You all enjoy yourselves; I'll call you when it's ready."
"Then thank you!" Tong Liya expressed her gratitude.
"You're welcome," Yan Jien smiled again and headed to the kitchen.
Tong Liya took Ma Yun to the living room and turned on the television. The two women chatted while watching TV.
