Two swift horses, as fast as lightning, carried Lin Ning and the Princess of Yue Ming County, racing through the day until they finally arrived at the bustling city of Jinling. As soon as they entered the city, Lin Ning's gaze was drawn to the numerous wanted posters plastered along the streets. Each poster prominently displayed an image of Xiong Yanbi along with a bounty amount. Seeing this, Lin Ning's anger surged within him, and he couldn't help but curse the incompetent Emperor Tianqi once again. 0

Before long, they arrived at the Enze Gang. When Cong Rong and Liu Mengyuan saw Lin Ning appear safe and sound, their joy was palpable as they rushed forward to greet him warmly. However, at that moment, both noticed the Princess of Yue Ming County accompanying Lin Ning. This unexpected situation left Cong Rong and Liu Mengyuan astonished, their mouths agape in surprise. It was well-known that Lin Ning had always avoided the Princess, going to great lengths to steer clear of her. Yet now, they were walking side by side back to the Enze Gang, leaving everyone puzzled. 0

Meanwhile, Lin Enzhe and Miao Shuyan hurried over. When they saw that Lin Ning had brought back the remains of Yu Jiangong and Han Ying, they were devastated, tears streaming down their faces uncontrollably. The couple trembled as they gently touched the cold urns, as if trying to feel the warmth of their loved ones from days gone by. With everyone's collective effort, they carefully placed Yu Jiangong and Han Ying's remains into a beautifully crafted coffin and solemnly buried them in the lush bamboo grove behind the Enze Gang. 0

Once all arrangements were made, Lin Ning took a moment to calm himself before turning to ask about Lin Cheng's recent situation. To his dismay, Miao Shuyan burst into tears upon hearing his question about Lin Cheng. "A few days ago, Cheng'er left us a letter saying he would make a home wherever he goes and asked us not to look for him anymore—just pretend we never had him and forget about him," she sobbed. Her sorrow deeply affected Lin Ning's heart. He comforted h second Brother ntly, saying, "Mother, please don't be sad. I will go find my elder brother." 0

Lin Enzhe shook his head and said, "Ning'er, don’t go looking for him anymore; let him be. What’s meant to come will come; what’s meant to leave cannot be held back. This is our fate. Fortunately, we still have you and Mengyuan by our side; you two are our greatest comfort." Feeling heartbroken but silent, Lin Ning listened as Lin Enzhe changed the subject: "The court is currently hunting for Xiong Yanbi; wanted posters are everywhere in Jinling. Did you hear anything about your Uncle Xiong while you were in the Borderlands?" 0

Lin Ning replied, "I wanted to tell you about Uncle Xiong." He recounted his encounter with Xiong Yanbi in the Borderlands to Lin Enzhe and Miao Shuyan. Lin Enzhe expressed concern: "The court is after him; Later Jin wants him dead quickly. It's too dangerous for him to be wandering around like this." 0

Lin Ning declared resolutely, "Uncle Xiong is a national hero but is being attacked and framed by Eunuch Faction officials. After I move my parents' graves back to Jinling tomorrow, I plan to return to the Borderlands to be by Uncle Xiong's side. I want to protect him from further harm while also assisting General Yuan in defending Ningyuan City." 0

Lin Enzhe nodded approvingly: "Good boy; your mother and I support your decision. A man should aspire far and wide; protecting one's home and country is what a true man does." He then turned to Cong Rong and Liu Mengyuan: "After I leave, I’ll entrust your care of your father and mother to you both." 0

Cong Rong and Liu Mengyuan felt a surge of emotions for Lin Ning. After finally seeing him safe again, now he was preparing to leave once more; their hearts sank with sadness. 0

The next morning, sunlight filtered through thin clouds onto the earth, casting a faint golden glow over Jinling City. Lin Ning and the Princess of Yue Ming County packed their belongings and set off northward along the road they had traveled before. After more than half a day’s journey, they finally crossed the vast Cangshan Mountains. By now, the sun was beginning its descent in the west, painting a stunning sunset across the sky. 0

As night fell, they arrived at a dilapidated Mountain God Temple. The temple looked aged with mottled walls and several damaged spots on its roof that revealed signs of wear from time passing by. Lin Ning stepped inside cautiously and lit a candle with flint. The dim candlelight illuminated their surroundings as he took out a bun from his pack and handed it to the Princess of Yue Ming County. 0

Just as they were about to sit down for a meal, they suddenly heard a cacophony of hoofbeats approaching from outside—an overwhelming sound that shook the entire valley. Alarmed, Lin Ning exchanged glances with the Princess of Yue Ming County before they quickly hid behind a statue. 0

From the sound of hoofbeats, Lin Ning estimated there were about six or seven people approaching. One voice rang out: "There's an old temple here; let’s take a break!" Recognizing that voice as Chen Zhaohui from Dunhuang Double Slayers made Lin Ning tense up further. 0

Then came Bai Songhe’s rough voice: “What kind of hellhole is this? It's damp and cold; it's unbearable! Bring that fat sheep off the horse so we can roast it together—it'll warm us up.” The others agreed enthusiastically with this proposal. 0

Lin Ning held his breath as he listened closely; soon he identified not only Chen Zhaohui but also Bai Songpeng, White Jade Peak, Yang Yan, Xiao Tianquan, and Hao Ge among them. He pondered what these people were doing in Jiangnan. 0

At that moment Yang Yan spoke up: “We’ve come under orders from Great Khan to find that old coot Xiong Yanbi! We’ve searched most of Zhongyuan but still haven’t found any trace of him. Where could that old man be hiding?” 0

Hearing Yang Yan's words ignited a blaze of anger within Lin Ning as memories of past grievances surged forth—he could no longer contain his rage. He stepped out boldly from behind the statue into view. 0

The sudden appearance of Lin Ning startled everyone present. With piercing eyes filled with fury directed at Yang Yan—his gaze sharp enough to cut—Lin Ning clenched his fists tightly and began advancing toward Yang Yan step by step. 0

Faced with Lin Ning's aggressive approach, Yang Yan felt an instinctive fear rising within him; he instinctively began retreating while beads of sweat formed on his forehead. 0

Seeing this unfold, White Jade Peak stepped forward to block between them: “ second Brother (Second Brother), don’t act impulsively! Let’s sit down calmly and talk this through.” However, Lin Ning remained stoic as ice with cold killing intent flashing in his eyes; he gritted his teeth: “Yufeng (a nickname), this matter does not concern you—step aside! Today I will personally slay this shameless scoundrel!” 0

Before he finished speaking, Lin Ning bypassed White Jade Peak with determined steps that seemed heavy with purpose as he approached Yang Yan relentlessly. 0

Yang Yan was horrified at this turn of events; in panic he darted behind Chen Zhaohui for cover. 0

Lin Ning snorted coldly as he swiftly drew out his gleaming Sunlight Blade without hesitation and swung it toward the statue behind which Yang Yan hid. A loud clang echoed through the air as sparks flew—leaving a deep gash on the statue itself. 0

Yang Yan knew well how sharp Sunlight Blade was—capable of cutting through iron like mud—and dared not face it head-on; instead he dodged swiftly like a ghost around to stand in front of it. 0

But Lin Ning would not let up easily; he moved like lightning following closely behind Yang Yan while wielding Sunlight Blade relentlessly—forcing Yang Yan into frantic evasions until he found himself cornered against a wall with no escape. 0

Desperate now, Yang Yan rushed towards Chen Zhaohui seeking refuge from Lin Ning’s relentless assault. 0

Chen Zhaohui felt dread wash over him knowing full well how far Lin Ning’s skills had progressed since their last encounter—he was no longer comparable to before—and if he intervened recklessly it could spell disaster for himself instead. 0

Realizing this danger quickly enough Chen Zhaohui sidestepped just enough so that Yang Yan stood exposed once more before Lin Ning’s wrathful gaze. 0

With a mocking smile Chen Zhaohui taunted: “Yang Gang Leader (Gang Leader Yang), why are you hiding? If you have guts fight him!” 0

Just then something unexpected happened—the temple door burst open violently revealing a blood-soaked figure staggering into view—it was none other than Xiong Yanbi! 0

Seeing Xiong Yanbi’s battered state sent shockwaves through Lin Ning's heart; panic surged within him as he rushed forward without thinking—catching Xiong Yanbi just before he collapsed onto the ground. 0

“Uncle Xiong! What happened?” Lin Ning cried out desperately filled with fear and concern as tears welled up in his eyes. 0

Xiong Yanbi looked pale as paper gasping weakly: “The court… sent people… after me.” Before finishing his sentence blood spewed forth uncontrollably from his mouth. 0

Lin Ning felt his heart wrench painfully at this sight—tears streamed down his face uncontrollably while Dunhuang Double Slayers recognized Xiong Yanbi’s presence too—their faces lit up with excitement as if victory lay within reach. 0

Bai Songpeng exclaimed eagerly: “Haha! What luck! We’ve stumbled upon Xiong Yanbi here! Let’s work together to take him down! Present his head to Amin Beile (Lord Amin) for sure we’ll enjoy riches beyond measure!” 0

The others stirred restlessly around them eager for action encircling both Lin Ning and Xiong Yanbi tighter—the atmosphere thickening with tension. 0

Bai Songpeng looked at Lin Ning feigning concern: “Ning xiansheng (Young Master Ning), please step aside quickly—we wouldn’t want any accidents during our attack on Xiong Yanbi since you’re related by blood.” 0

Lin Ning’s expression hardened like frost as he glared coldly at Bai Songpeng: “Uncle Bai (Uncle Bai), who would’ve thought such an esteemed master would willingly become Later Jin's lapdog? You bully an injured man simply because you have numbers—where is your heroism?” 0

Bai Songpeng’s expression shifted slightly but soon regained composure: “Young Master you’re still young—you don’t understand these things yet—the Ming Dynasty is crumbling—it’s time for you to wake up before it’s too late.” 0

Furious now Lin Ning shouted: “The way Ming Dynasty treats my Uncle Xiong is truly disheartening! But if you think I’ll allow any harm come upon him—you’ll have to go over my dead body first!” 0

Nearby Bai Songhe frowned hearing such defiance from Lin Ning: “Don’t be foolish! If you don’t step aside now—we won’t hold back!” 0

Yang Yan observed quietly waiting for an opportunity noting how severely injured Xiong Yanbi was while realizing that if Lin Ning focused on protecting him—it would weaken his combat effectiveness significantly. 0

A sinister smile crept across Yang Yan's face knowing this was an excellent chance to eliminate Lin Ning once and for all—gripping tightly onto his weapon he lunged toward him like a fierce tiger! 0

Lin Ning remained calm facing this sudden attack—steadfastly supporting Xiong Yanbi with one hand while wielding Sunlight Blade fiercely toward Yang Yan's midsection! 0

Yet Yang Yan being seasoned evaded swiftly retreating just in time—but due to supporting Xiong Yanbi—Lin Ning couldn’t follow through effectively launching another attack immediately afterward! 0

Princess of Yue Ming County rushed forward positioning herself beside them steadying Xiong Yanbi while calling out loudly: “Leave Uncle Xiong safely in my care—I’ll watch over him! Focus all your strength on defeating these foes!” 0

Gratefulness shone in Lin Ning’s eyes meeting hers briefly before concentrating fully on their enemies ahead. 0

Hao Ge seethed seeing Princess of Yue Ming County aiding them shouted angrily: “Yue Ming! Do you wish to openly defy Later Jin? Don’t forget—you’re our princess!” 0

Unfazed she stood tall responding defiantly: “Go ahead! Report me if you wish! Who cares? You’re nothing but cowards ganging up on an injured man!” 0

Hao Ge contemplated briefly unwillingly engaging further with her instead glaring fiercely raising his blade aiming straight for Xiong Yanbi! 0

With deadly intent behind it—the blade descended rapidly toward its target when suddenly— 0

Lin Ning reacted instantly raising Sunlight Blade intercepting Hao Ge’s strike! 0

Knowing well how formidable Sunlight Blade was Hao Ge panicked attempting retreat—but too late! 0

With a sharp crack echoing through air Hao Ge's weapon shattered into pieces falling helplessly away! 0

Gasps erupted among witnesses realizing anyone wishing harm upon Xiong Yanbi must first contend with formidable force presented by none other than Lin Ning himself! 0

Despite previous attempts made by four skilled fighters including Hao Ge—they all failed miserably against Sunlight Blade rendering them defenseless against its might! 0

Among Bai family brothers only Bai Songpeng alongside Bai Songhe posed real threat—but even they struggled against such overwhelming prowess displayed by young warrior standing before them today! 0

Seeing their combined efforts yielding no results Bai Songpeng grew increasingly anxious fearing loss would tarnish their reputation forevermore! 0

Quickly signaling both brothers—they prepared retreat simultaneously leaping away swiftly disappearing outside Mountain God Temple leaving chaos behind! 0

Yang Yan along with Dunhuang Double Slayers realized danger escalating fled hastily following suit escaping like frightened dogs from Mountain God Temple. 0
